Real Seafood Company - Toledo Ratings and Reviews
Disaster. We ordered a round of Martini's at $10.79 apiece- pours were not generous for the price. Their Signature Pomegranate Martini was qualitatively only a standard Cosmopolitan. Steamed garlic muscles were good, but crab cakes were tasteless. My house salad with blue cheese was served as my fellow diners were being served their main entree. Their entrees' arrived before their salads. Before I finished my salad, a bowl of clam chowder arrived which I gave to another diner because I could't wolf down a salad then turn to soup which would have been cold before I was ready to eat. My Chilean Sea Bass arrived before my clam chowder. Two of the other diner's ordered filet mignon. One was plump and thick (about 1 1/2 inches), superbly prepared, but the other was flat and poorly prepared. It was only about 3/4 of an inch thick. The two filet's were obviously of different proportions and weight. But, by that time, everyone was so hungry that they accepted the entrees without further objection. My Chilean Sea. Bas was excellent, but poorly spiced with what appeared to be nothing more than a simple paprika. The portions of all the fish entrees were small. By the third round of martini's, everyone was resigned to simply accept whatever they received to simply make it through the meal. For dessert, the creme brule was nothing special, more of a paste, actually, and the key-lime pie was poorly presented. It had no garnish and had a thick graham cracker crust which couldn't be pierced by the fork. In my opinion, the food, while palatable, was not a good value. I could write more, but space on this review is limited and had to be abbreviated to provide an overall perspective.
Made reservations on line flawlessly. Reserved for 5 with 5 showing for my 51st birthday dinner. Showed early and had a few drinks with my wife in the bar. Moved to our table, had appetizers, drinks and had a very good seafood dinner. Service was pleasant and timely. Definitely coming back.
we had lunch at the toledo art museum cafe and for $15 dollars smoked maple soup and a
chicken wrap we probably made any dinner in toledo an unfair comparison what a gem.
we enjoyed the atmosphere at the real seafood company dinner rolls and caesar salad..........
seafood--- what a disappointment the seafood fettucini was incredibly fishy taste and smell.
the left overs smelled so bad we had to light candles in our kitchen to get rid of the odors ....
we just threw out the left overs with drinks we dropped $150 and tried to convince ourselves
we would return ????????????????
The food was excellent as well as the service. The food came out hot and delicious in a timely manner. Our server was exceptionally prompt and questioned at the right time without being annoying. I would recommend the Real Seafood Company for any special occasion or just a night out for dinner. The quality of the food for the value was spot-on!
Although Real Seafood is one of the few restaurants in Toledo serving good fresh fish, my husband and I, for years, have opted for their crab cakes which were comparable to those on the east coast--packed with lots of jumbo lump crab and little filler. . Unfortunately, the recipe has been downgraded to include smaller pieces and a lot more filler, making the cake mushy and not very tasty. This change was confirmed by RSC staff and, we were told, is permanent. Staff also said that we were not the first to complain. We will not be going to Real Seafood for crab cakes again. Aside from this, service was very good as were salad, bread, and sides.
We drove down from Michigan for a concert at Huntington Arena and wanted to have a nice meal before the concert. Best Seafood was very inviting location wise, we always enjoy activities near the waterfront. We were seated right away and the server came immediately gave us the iPad-menus and we placed our order. We received our meals within 20 mins of arrival and we were impressed with the speed of service. The meals were basically OK. My husband had the stuffed salmon which tasted ok, but nothing to write home about. The kicker was he realized the salmon on the bottom was undercooked as in still pink and soft. Not flaky at all. I had the crab cakes and they were better than the salmon but still not great. The bleu cheese coke slaw also was not great. The best was the soft bread that comes with the meal. We had two whole baskets! Nice place but the food leaves much to be desired st that price point. We’ll probably try another waterfront restaurant next time.
We had a wonderful meal with drinks and dessert. There were 10 in our party, and everyone was more than pleased with her experience. The food, ambiance, service and drinks were excellent. We get together every month at a different restaurant. And Real Seafood i Toledo is among our favorites. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a GREAT evening.
We were celebrating my husband's birthday. Always a great birthday deal.
We were happy to see the return of Calamari to the menu. Unfortunately it was a little "chewy". We commented on this to our server and were immediately greeted by a manager, offering to replace the appetizer. We declined, as it wasn't that bad. We were just honest with our answer.
We both ordered steak and lobster. The lobster was PERFECT!!! My husband's steak was perfect, but mine had an odd taste. It was prepared properly, just tasted "odd". It was replaced immediately. Can't ask for better service.
The house cole slaw is one of our favorites and the Creme Brulee is some of the best we've ever tasted, and we've tasted a lot!!
You can't beat Real Seafood for great food and some of the best customer service I've ever encountered!
Great food and location. Used this trip to Real Seafood for a Birthday lunch. Sat out on the enclosed porch. A little noisy because of the location and others speaking in a foreign language and loud. Server was ok, we have had better, understanding that he was fairly new. Meal was excellent. We visit many times during the year. Keep up the good work.
Was disappointed with the food and the noise level. Went for my wife’s 45th birthday and they never acknowledged it, even though I put it on our reservations. Also, no discount was given for my wife’s birthday per the policy on their website. The food was okay and not worth the $270.00 we spent for 6 people.
The table was AWFUL (your BUS STATION had to be moved...) and I nearly asked to be moved, but it was a special occasion and I did not want to cause a fuss. Also, I -- as a vegetarian -- cheated and enjoyed salmon because your vegetarian options are so pathetic. Beyond that, the service was great.
