Real Seafood Company - Toledo
My friend and I came here for my birthday because of the birthday deal (50% off the whole receipt excluding drinks). We ended up spending about a total of $65-75 including tip.
We got four appetizers and one entree to share because it comes with the blue cheese cole slaw everyone has talked about (which I actually wasn't blown away by, but it was still good).
Appetizer 1) Pan Fried Jumbo Lump Blue Crab Cakes $12.95*
Appetizer 2) Tuna Tartare $13.95
Appetizer 3) Crispy Fried Brussels Sprouts $10.95*
Appetizer 4) Point Judith Calamari $13.95
*absolute favorites/would order again
Entree: George's Bank Natural Sea Scallops broiled $28.95
Drinks: Sangria and House Gin & Tonic
-both were okay, not the best though
First off, the server (I think his name was William) was great and explained the menu and specials there well since it was our first time there. The starter bread here is AMAZING. It's warm and fresh. It reminded me of a biscuit flavor in a bread, paired perfectly with the butter. I'm a sucker for good bread at restaurants.
The appetizers came out all at once and by far, the crab cakes were my favorite. They were full of flavor and had good chunks of crab meat as well. The Brussels sprouts were my second favorite and was a perfect green dish to eat on the side. The calamari and tuna tartare were mediocre at best. I probably wouldn't order them again.
The scallops were great for the first bite. The butter flavor definitely stood out and the scallops were perfectly broiled and a great texture. However, it was a bit salty, which was probably why you needed the cole slaw on the side to balance it out. We ordered the hash browns as its accompaniment and I liked the crispiness.
TLDR- Would recommend going here for a birthday (must be day of because they'll ask for ID), but I think it'd be overpriced to go here on a normal day. Might come back for their happy hour though, we'll see. Thanks again Real Seafood Co!
We were celebrating both a family wedding anniversary as well as my husband's birthday. Real Seafood never disappoints. It is also nice they accept reservations so we can be seated on arrival.
We enjoyed scallops and King crabs legs and the crab cakes were excellent. Our server Jack E. was very professional, polite and very attentive. Another wonderful experience, like always
Our server was amazing (I feel terrible I don't remember her name!! She was training another girl. I think one of them was Nicole....). The food was fantastic! I loved the live music. It was not too loud and the singer had a great voice. They give a free birthday meal if you come in on your actual birthday (they check your ID).
Lobsters were delicious but no heated butter containers or a plate for leftover shells. Had to ask for bread. No asking for coffee refills.
Had a wonderful lobster dinner. So sweet!!! Would definitely come back!
Excellent food and the lobster specials were excellent.
Our waiter, Anthony, was very good! We were having a great time and he made it even better!!
First time here, requested a river view table through open table site...asked about it when they sat us, said that they didn't show that at all? Dinner was good, but not great. I guess for my first time eating here I had higher expectations. Our server was spectacular though. She answered every question I had and was very attentive.
The food is good. I always leave thinking it was good but not worth the price. Really hard to get to with the construction.
Missy our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. Made good recommendations and was very pleasant. Excellent service. Noisy atmosphere. Disappointed in the Brussel sprouts. They were actually unrecognizable as they appeared to have the leaves detached instead of normal shape. All in all an enjoyable evening with good food and great service.
Great place to eat! Food is always very tasty along with good service.Music was very enjoyable and added to the evening. I would definitely recommend Real Seafood.
Took my girlfriend out for her 22nd birthday and it was a wonderful experience!
The food was great as always. We are long time patrons. I had lake perch and my wife had a lobster tail. Our server, Jack, (who is a veteran) handled everything perfectly. My only complaint was the choice of music: not my preference, but in any event, it was too loud.
Took a group of clients here for business meal. We had an excellent waitress Monica and she was very professional and took very good care of our group. The restaurant has a seafood smell to it. Little stinky but overall the food was excellent and the view of the water was awesome. I would return!
Great food and service on the waterfront
Music was terrible, from the 70’s, otherwise a great experience
The best sea scallops in the Toledo area!
We went for our anniversary and our waitress was amazing, she even gave us a free piece of cheesecake. The food was amazing, it was our first time and we will definitely be back!
Everything about our experience at Real Seafood was great-food, service, atmosphere-look forward to going back soon
they were very accommodating in finding us a table with a great river view
Great food, as usual. Outstanding service and the staff was happy to accommodate one of our guest's allergy.
My lobster tail was absolutely excellent, nice size, perfectly prepared, tender and tasty. The asparagus was cooked perfectly as well but would have liked more of it.
Promptly seated on a rainy Monday night for two.. driving through town and this spot looked nice. This is upscale / casual with price points in the mid-$20/$30. Both fish entrees were very good and service was prompt. 2 cocktails + 2 dinners + tip = $85
Consistently good service, excellent location, quality food. If you haven't been here, get here!
Hard time finding a parking space on 9/22 because of 1000 people at docks for canoe races and they parked at the restaurants. We arrived at the RealSeafood at 4:30 pm received menu, water, buns, good waiter, but the noise in the kitchen was extremely loud, along with the music. Told the manager about the noise and they took care of it immediately. Food was excellent-scallops. Went down 9/23 for BDAY dinner and got lobster. Brought out hot lobster along with drawn butter over a candle that was cold. Sent the butter back 2x was never hot. Messed up my $40 dinner, but received a complimentary slice of pie. Also received an email notice from Real Seafood on 9/22 at 5:10pm that we did not make our scheduled appointment to be there at 4:30pm. We were there at 4:25pm. We love Real Seafood.
Food is excellent every time. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Great recommendations.
One of the best restaurants in Toledo. Excellent all around. I love that even in the rare mistake they make, they go above and beyond to correct it.
Great food, great service. It’s always well worth the trip!
It was a wonderful time. We were seated immediately and in a quiet place as I had requested. The service was exceptional. The food, as always, was delicious.
Our whole meal was delicious, and the paella was excellent!
Best seafood in the area, always great service. There were 6 of us and everything was top notch. Our server Rachael did a great job. We will continue to go back often.
Excellent food and service, very nice nite out would highly recommend this restaurant
The people were very friendly. My wife cold. Your waitress was extremely nice. Over all a great place to eat. Worth the drive.
The food was only outshined by the view. This restaurant is definitely one of Toledo’s gems.
As always Real Seafood is delicious, the waiter was great and the food selection was awesome. My only recommendation would be to power wash the outside area everyday or at least remove the spiderwebs from under the tables. The outside could use TLC, paint the chip railings, remove chairs that are bent so far back you can’t lean back and take a good look at the over all appearance it needs help. It’s still my favorite place to eat but now that inside was updated perhaps the outside can be classed up.
We ate great seafood and had a wonderful experience! We love to celebrate here.
Went for my anniversary.. Everything was GREAT .. My wait was a little long with Reservations ..
Great food and service. First time we have eaten on the upper level. The A/C was a bit too cold, but otherwise a great experience. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Food was great!
I am NOT a Seafood fan but the wife is. She was VERY happy with her Cup of Chowder and her Crab Cakes.
My Steak was what a Steak is a Seafood place.
Wasnt bad but wasn't a stand out. I dont knock them for that... Its a SEAFOOD Place not a Steakhouse.
It was the Wife's Birthday Dinner so I made do.
Did enjoy the Sweet & Spicy Calimari though. That was good.
Would I go back, YES.
Nice ambience and service and food - waitress was very good.
