Real Seafood Company - Ann Arbor
REAL Disappointing. A lot of talk about how fresh the fish is and the “chef” but then it all tastes like red lobster - except you are paying good restaurant prices. When a seafood restaurant features blue point oysters and a combo plate it is not for real seafood lovers. Family restaurant fair.
Great place in a great location. Can't beat the New England chowder and the lobster rolls are the real deal!
We had a great time at Real Seafood celebrating a birthday. Food was excellent and the service was fantastic. The restaurant was not very busy and the noise was low. A great place to go to celebrate a birthday or special occasion.
Great food & attentive service, as always. Real Seafood Ann Arbor is a family favorite.
Service and food were amazing! Our server, Taylor, was pleasant and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.
Real Seafood is always a great time. Great food once again. Stuffed salmon was outstanding.
good and very yummy
I'll be back! Thanks for a great experience. I hosted a business dinner and everyone really enjoyed the evening. Our server, Kate, was terrific.
James did a wonderful job on making sure our dining experience was unforgettable. It was my wife's b-day and he catered to her likes & dislikes with excellent recommendations. We will go back in the future.
Consistently fresh, delicious seafood cooked perfectly every time.
We had an amazing time! The Birthday Deal for guests is an amazing deal and allows for a great birthday celebration!
We celebrated a special birthday and had great service. The food was good except for my daughters avocado salad. She was expecting an entree salad and instead got 3 pieces of bib lettuce on a plate with a little avocado spread and some shredded crab. It was ridiculously priced at $18.95 and was not worth that for what she got. She left hungry and unhappy. It would have been helpful if the waiter made her aware of the lightness of the salad and possibly offered something else.
Great server, wonderful atmosphere and speedy and meticulous service.
The server was extremely rude and unprofessional. We will seek other dining options in the future.
Our server, Tyler, was great! The raw oysters and fried calamari were superbe, the paella left much to be desired. Not much to speak of in the way of seasoning, the seafood seemed overcooked. For being deemed the best fish place in Ann Arbor, I would expect this dish to be better (or just consider removing it from the menu and highlight your far superior dishes).
The outing was for my mother and my daughters birthday. It was my daughters 1st time trying lobster ( that was funny), she enjoyed it. My mother is hard to please (when other people are cooking), but she enjoyed it as well. Thank you guys .
Just can't stand those electronic menus
It was expensive, but it was one of the best meals. You get what you pay for and we will definitely return.
The noise level is not usually very high but we sat next to a large table of loud people. But the food is always good and our waiter was very accommodating.
Great food and service, the 50% deal is fabulous!!
Miso sea bass is one of the best if not the best dish that I've had. Third time I've had it there. I come from out of town--was in Ann Arbor for a basketball reunion.
Disappointed that they have decided to not have the coconut cream pie on the menu any more. But the chocolat mousse is extremely good. Always like going there when I come back to town.
Great gnocchi! Waiter was a little helicopter-ish, but overall a good experience
Everything was perfectly cooked! The service was amazing as well.
Had 4 different meals and each of us totally happy with our food. Service was very good. Noise level a bit unpleasant for me.
Was my partner’s birthday. Can’t beat that birthday deal that is offered!
Real Seafood is always on point, service, food and management are always great.
Waitstaff very friendly, which is the only bright spot. Food was marginal at best. Mostly bland and uninspired menu. Restaurant is a bit raggedy and needs updating. Sorry for the bad review - if the food had been good the rest wouldn’t matter.
We had an excellent dinner for my wife's 70th birthday and surprisingly received an unsolicited and VERY generous discount. The food was excellent, the presentation superb, and the evening was topped off by viewing the ice carving just beyond the sidewalk window.
Great atmosphere. Diverse menu with nice variety of seafood options. Went for a late lunch and it was a real treat to spend Sunday with family, and great food!
Mike was an outstanding waiter!
Ordered from fresh fish portion of menu. Both my dish & my husbands were bland. Fish could use some sauce, glaze.. something to give it taste.
This was our third and most likely last visit to Real Seafood. The place is disgustingly dirty - floor, chairs, tables. Men’s restroom urinal was overflowing. I can’t imagine the condition of areas behind closed doors..
Always good, especially the waiter. (Maurice?) We had the Valentines Special.
We liked the idea of the way they served the course meal so we didn’t get full so fast. However, our clams were over cooked and grainy and my expensive lobster dish was beyond over cooked, tough, chewy, and overall disappointing. Even my boyfriend’s shrimp was over cooked and tough, and his crab cake and stuffed trout was bland and flavorless. I wish I sent my dinner back but we were already there waiting for over 2 hours so there wasn’t a point.
This is our favorite place to go, especially for a special occasion, like Valentine's Day. It was a busy night, which made it a bit more noisy and we happened to be near a table with young children - no one's fault. We certainly will return as we have done many times over our 41 years in Ann Arbor. Justine did a great job - he was both personal and professional.
Great food, very good service. The restaurant was crowded, but the service was excellent.
It was Valentine's Day, so the restaurant was very busy. Given how busy it was, the service was okay. We had the specials which seemed like they had been made in advance and mass produced. I've been to Real Seafood a couple of times in the past months and noticed that the food and service have been just so-so. The food and service had been so good in the past. The quality doesn't seem to be as high recently.
The service was exceptional....similar to the food.
A great place for special occasions, but also business lunches and other outings. Service is great and the seafood rocks. Sometimes it's a bit loud, but that's because it's full of happy people.
First experience....Very pleased all the way around.. Service, food was Great...Will visit again...With hopes of the same...
