Real Seafood Company - Ann Arbor
The food and service were excpetional. The noise was quite unpleasant. It was impossible to carry on a coversation with the people at our table. We were a party of six and could only speak to the person next to us without shouting. You could not hear the person across the table whatsoever. It made for a difficult celebration.
We have dined here many times over the years. Food is not what it used to be. Bland. Overpriced for the quality and taste. Wine was over priced as well. Sad that this used to be one of our favorite places. We won’t be back.
We’ve been patrons for years, but were sorely disappointed in some of the food. The Brussels sprouts were impossible to cut with a table knife. I never send food back, but I sent these back. They returned hotter but no more tender. The redskins were dried up and hard. The sweet potatoes were also undercooked—al dente is not a good quality in a roasted sweet potato. I don’t know if we’ll return. The service was good, though.
Our favorite seafood restaurant! Delicious food, great service. Highly recommend!!
The food was respectable but nothing special by any means. The service was impeccable and extremely friendly. Overall for the cost, there is far more value for the $ at other establishments.
We were easily able to eat at 6 PM and easily get to a performance at the ARK by 8 PM.
There was a large selection from the menu from which to choose.
Salad was delicious and filling!
There was very little (if any) oyster meat in the Oyster Rock. The Clam Chowder was very thin and tasteless. The Lobster Roll had very little to it. It was more bread than anything. When you order Crab Cakes on the Shareable section, you get only one crab cake. Overall a disappointing experience.
Dependable service, well priced, and consistently great food.
Fish was expensive and a bit dry. The one and only vegetarian main dish didn't have much vegetables. So in the end I was disappointed
We made reservations, the greeter was surprised, unprofessional, so we waited for her to find a table. The server was not engaged, hard to hear and forgot some requests, the food was fine, nothing special. The price was too high, overall below average. We have been there before.
We were just a bit late but had to wait quite a while for a table.
The rolls were not fresh.
Our server James was great and the food was excellent it was just a crowd of tipsy women that were somewhat annoying, but that happens. ☺️
Perfect place for any occasion!
Food is excellent!
Amazing food. Everything was cooked perfectly. Actually decent prices for what you get compared to other restaurants. Service was meh, but looking at the others i think we had a lacking waiter. We will definitely go back soon for more. This place was wonderful!
Fantastic food as always and a very good dining experience
Requested a quiet table or booth. Got neither. Place was so noisy our table of 4 couldn’t visit or hear one another. Food and waitstaff was good but overpriced for the venue. I’m in no hurry to return right away.
It was my birthday lunch and I appreciate the indoor/outdoor seating as the noise level allows for easy conversation without shouting. I ordered fish and chips, deep fired cod served with fries and coleslaw on the side. The cod was nicely prepared in a crispy breading. Service very good.
Real Seafood is a dependable, family friendly option for birthday celebrations and just a nice dinner out with the family. We routinely spend birthdays here and have been disappointed only on one occasion when we were placed in the same small space as a very large, very noisey group. In hindsight we should have asked to be moved and I am sure we would have been accommodated.
We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday at Real Seafood Company. Out waiter was outstanding... attentive and knew the menu well. We were very pleased with our experience and will go back for sure.
Dined on a summer Friday night and really enjoyed it. Truly fresh fish prepared so that you can still taste the fish. Servers are attentive and went back to the kitchen to confirm whether cilantro was an ingredient in one of the sauces.
Menus are on an iPad and our server walked us through or I would have missed the Scallop entree. It is a little pricey but with delicious food, good wine list and fabulous desserts we will go back.
Food was mediocre, not terrible, just bland. I was expecting it to be a lot better than Red Lobster but it was on par. Expensive too. Waiter and atmosphere was very nice. The search continues for a decent seafood place.
Get the Swordfish blackened. SO good! Sat in the garage area/in between the restaurant and sidewalk. A gorgeous evening and felt like a mini vacation.
The waitress was very nice and prompt. She suggested things on the menu, as it was our first time. The food was delicious!
Disappointing. Food and service we’re very average. Pricey.i chose based on reviews and was let down. Other seafood places in Ann Arbor are better
We enjoyed the time (4 of us) immensely. Our waittress was extremely helpful and energetic. We love seafood --- therefore the meal met our rarely satisfied cravings. Wish we could spend less, but, when it comes to seafood, you have to exercise the wallet. We were delighted with our experience. Thanks.
Great seafood selection for a place that has limited dining options for good seafood
A very good dinner!! Seafood is superb as usual. Always very good to have dinner here
Love the food and the bday discount. Thanks again for a memorable birthday dinner!
Went there for my birthday celebration, at first everything was ok, then we noticed fruit flies all around us when we received our drinks and appetizers. A fruit fly actually was in my white wine. They gave me a new one, but it was still disgusting to eat around fruit flies. My sisters order was wrong, our food took over an hour to come out when the restaurant was actually empty. Only a couple tables besides ours. We didn’t even get an apology. I’ve been to this restaurant many times and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had! Really disappointed!
Service was outstanding, he was attentive without being intrusive. Miso-glazed sea bass was awesome, as was the tuna tar tare app. Back room is rather loud, voices echo off the stone wall.
We had a great evening. Everything was terrific from start to finish. Will definately return
For what you got the food was overpriced. Service was ok.. Value.. Though I got robbed.
It was our 1st time dining there. We order martinis and my glass was dirty. The oyster were the best part of the meal. They were delicious!! The dinners we order had no taste to them. We will not dine there again, very disappointed .
We have tried The Real Seafood Company on several occasions because there are not a lot of other options for seafood in the area. Most of the time it is decent, never outstanding. This time it was a little off. The paella was overcooked. All of the shellfish were dry. Will likely try again but it wasn't their best effort.
Great service and food
Exceptional meal once again! We celebrated my son’s birthday and he received a free meal including dessert. Perfect dinner!
brussel sprouts were not tender..taste was off mussels needed a thicker broth with more garlic. very bland. Seabass was excellent and oysters very good
I’ve been here many times and every time I love it. My favorite is the blue plate, the seafood always tastes fresh, service was excellent.
