Re Sette Ratings and Reviews
We just haopened to make a last minute reservation for a party of 6 and were very pleased we found this place. From the initial reception of the matre di, to the bar service right to the wait staff, everyone was exceptional, attentive and polite. The food was off the charts good! Hommade pasta and Sunday gravy to the brick oven pizza we ordered as a starter, everything was great. We sat on the ground level which was a busy but not overwhelmingly loud. The offser upstairs seating for a quieter experience. Restooms were clean. All in all, great little place to enjoy a good meal at resonable prices.
For years Re sette used to be my go to place before broadway shows, however I will not be returning ever again. Previously, I went for the romantic ambiance, delicious food, and great service. When I went this time I felt like I was sitting in time square the lights were so bright for an evening meal. They were playing pop music and the entire menu changed. Additionally we ordered two appetizers and only one of them came out. We only realized when we got our main courses. When we told the waiter he didnt say a word and just walked away. We also asked for cheese for our pasta and he returned 10 mins later when we were almost done with our meals. The pasta itself was incredibly salty, specifically the special which was parpadalle with beef tips. Im so disappointed that the Re sette I used to go to is gone. I would not recommend this place considering there are so many options in this area.
It’s a very nice pizza plus place but not at all the way it’s described in the open table description. It was fine and if we weren’t heading to a broadway show on our 28th anniversary in a tuxedo jacket, it would have been acceptable. We thought we were in the wrong restaurant. It’s described as a feast with spectacular decor. We were looking for a high end romantic place. Not so much. I think it’s a nice neighborhood family place with good service and perfectly reasonable food.
Went in for a quiet business meeting in the late afternoon. Perfect ambiance in the back room, staff were pleasant and personable, and even pulled tables together to make it more convenient for us to review the spreadsheets. We did not eat much but definitely enjoyed the food - will be going back.
This is a mediocre "red sauce" Italian, chosen for its proximity to the theatre. Better food could have been had at a casual pizza parlor in the neighborhood. A seafood pasta dish came to the table iced cold. The bathroom was poorly maintained and the toilet was stuffed up. The only positive things I can think to say is that they did get us in and out in time for the curtain and the servers & bus staff were very nice.
Messed up reservation,
Seated alone on 2nd floor
Ugly tv ads running (ads for nail recovery etc),
Disgusting Bruschetta with oil all over (tasted like double fried),
Pasta pesto with cream, so nothing a person can enjoy with lacto intolerance, why not call it creamy sauce, it definitly no pesto,
And a pushy waiter....
All ingredients for a disaster meal, amd not cheap
I made a reservation on my phone from the train and it was honored nicely. It is very close to Grand Central Station . The service was good and staff is friendly. The small plates or appetizers are definitely small but everything was good. My girl had the lamb chops from the small plates section she said they were very good and tender. I had the hanger steak which was very good and flavorful. This is not good for kids there really isn't a good kids menu but overall it was a very satisfying experience and I will return in the future.
This was frankly embarrassing, as I picked the restaurant for an evening with friends. Had a reservation for 6:30, arrived 5 minutes early, wasn't seated till 7. Rather than apologize for the wait the hostess when she looked up the reservation (which was made for 6 people four days in advance), said "Oh, 6 people? That is going to take a while."
Worst service EVER. We felt like we should be grateful the waitress ever spoke to us. One person's order was wrong - no apology. Waitstaff broke a glass on the table while serving and the entire table had to then be cleared - no apology. And rather than comp something, we were actually charged twice for a dish. In terms of food, the meat dishes ordered were good, but pasta dishes were quite disappointing.
Some of the worst Italian food I've ever eaten. Wedding soup had chunks of mozzarella cheese (what?) and my pasta dish was all stuck together and almost inedible. On a positive note, we had a great waiter who made our experience tolerable. As someone who eats out dozens of times per month (business and pleasure), this was simply not good. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but can't imagine giving them another chance.
This was my 3rd time having lunch at Re Sette - it's a lovely restaurant and the decor is very pretty. Food is fresh - my friend and I usually opt for a pizza (margherita) and salad (Mediterranean). We've also had the following appetizers: meatballs, octopus and eggplant rollatini which were all very tasty. Service is attentive and special shout out again to Daniel who always makes sure our water glasses are filled which I love. Highly recommend Re Sette.
We came in and were seating immediately(with reservation). The service was great and the staff was polite and attentive. The bruschetta was outstanding. I had the hanger steak that was great. Creme brule was a great desert. Overall terrific dining experience
Nice italian restaurant.
We had a reservation and glad to have it as it was really busy.
They took us to the table at the reservation time, no delays and the service was really fast.
Overall the food was good, many options for whole family.
The dessert, home made Tiramisu, was outstanding!!!!!
Food was good, just the right size portion for entrees. The apps were good, but the size of the meatball app was extremely small for the price. 3 meatballs that were about the size of a quarter for $15. Portion needs to be bigger for thst price. The bread they give you is a little strange. Artisan rolls would be a better touch. Wine menu are very cheap wines with the prices jacked up about 60% more than what they cost retail. 30-40% is considered the norm. We all had creme brake which was excellent. Our server Brett was excellent. We would definitely go back but not for the wine.
