Fantastic find in outskirts of Seattle! Enjoyed the view, the food, and the outdoor seating.
We were seated outside and it was SO beautiful. I would have been chilly but they have heaters throughout the porch and blankets available. I had the cod and chips, they were crispy and delightful. Our waitress was delightful and funny but not overbearing. I always love Rays. And it’s great that parking is so easy.
We started with some good calamari and drinks that arrived quickly. The sablefish was excellent, but the accompanying Bok Choy was cold.
My fish and chips were a disappointment. The fries were good but the fish was dry and flavorless.overall too expensive for the quality of food. You pay for the view.
We brought out of town guests thinking it would be a treat, but for us it was a disappointment. We have been to Ray’s a number of times over the years, but nothing other than the ambiance seemed the same. We waited far too long between the time we ordered and received our main course. The chowder was fairly good, but did not compare to others that we have had. My wife was looking forward to the crab cake, but was totally disappointed. Two of us had the seafood salad that included scallops, but after two bites I could no longer finish the scallops; in fact neither of us could finish our salads... it was not enjoyable. If the food and experience had been positive, the cost was reasonable, but considering the disappointment over the food, it was a waste of money.
The sunset was nice.
Buffet and ambience were great, but the entrance to the buffet was tight and awkward to navigate. I also didn’t care for how the servers handlers the silverware after clearing a plate. It didn’t seem very sanitary.
Visiting from Southern California. Celebrated Mother’s Day at Ray’s. The special brunch for the event was superb. Excellent views. Service was good overall, despite the waiting staff being busy and drinks took longer than expected. Will be back!
The food and service during the Mother's Day brunch were fantastic. Amazing view on a sunny day, very attentive service, and a wonderful brunch buffet offering.
Best patio/deck in all of Seattle. Hands down. Food is complimentary to the view.
We felt that our dinner at Ray's Cafe was the perfect outing! We were celebrating my husband's birthday and were lucky enough to get a fabulous table on the deck with a waterside view and experienced a beautiful sunset on one of the nicest days of the year. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for this location. We had excellent service and would definitely come back for another summer night when we want to dine in style!
We had fun! Service was good. View was stunning!
Rays is always good, fresh food, but the price is super high, even for what you get. Even for a splurge with that view & service, the value’s off. Would stick to apps & drinks in the bar. The dinners were tasty.
Anna was our server and made the entire evening special. Great food, always fresh with amazing flavors. The view is spectacular. Can’t wait for our next visit
They accommodated our extra person with ease. Joe was great at staying on top of our dining and beverage needs. Plus the clear, warm sunset views were amazing!
Sitting on the deck watching the sunset while enjoying a delicious meal at Ray’s Cafe is so great that we did it two nights in a row while visiting Seattle.
Excellent food and cocktails. Service was impeccable and the view from the patio is great. It can get chilly on the patio if it's not super warm out, it's literally right above the water.
Fantastic view, food was delicious!
Wonderful as always. My out-of-town guests were delighted.
Great food, specular view and very attentive staff.
This restaurant obviously lives on the great view from the upstairs "cafe". We didn't get a table by the window - as requested - instead we were put in the cheap seats by the kitchen. My wife's cocktail had no alcohol in it, and my beer was tasteless fizz. The food was tasteless and heavily salted. It was also pretty expensive.
Disappointing. Go for the view and enjoy it outside on the dock beside Ray's. You'll save money and disappointment. Eat elsewhere!
My friend and I had a most enjoyable, leisurely lunch at Ray's. My friend, who is a bit limited mobility-wise, was treated beautifully by everyone at Ray's -- and I really appreciate the thoughtfulness. That said, the seafood and wine was terrific. Thanks!
We had the loveliest dinner at Rays for my mother's birthday. We were visiting from out of town and were recommended Ray's from one of our family members. The drinks, apitizers and main courses were all hot fresh and delicious.
A good place to meet friends or simply take your wife or girl friend. View is great, design of the restaurant is happy and refreshing, the food is ok, drinks are good too. Sometimes it can be noisy but that is ok too. We like the place and dine there. Service is friendly and good also. One thing though, if you do not like fish, the menu selection is very limited.
Excellent food, service and a beautiful view of the Puget Sound with the Olympic Mountains in the distance.
Great food out on the deck in the sun as the day was drawing close to sunset. As the sun fell below the horizon, the staff handed out blankets for those feeling a chill.
My halibut was amazing and the mussels as an appetizer was a treat to be had
Got to follow both aspects of the meals with a nice local craft beer.
We enjoyed lunch with a clear view of the Olympic Mountains on a beautiful spring day. Our server was prompt and attentive. The food was excellent. I enjoyed the Apple salad and halibut special which was cooked perfectly.
Great food - it got a bit loud but that’s to be expected on a Saturday night. We will definitely be back when it gets warmer so we can sit outside!
Great view but the food was disappointing--everything was over cooked. We have had several meals downstairs at Ray's and thought we would try the cafe. Would not go back to the cafe.
The same excellent quality of fresh ingredients prepared expertly in a more casual setting. Stunning views and a lovely dining room make each visit a special occasion at a good price.
View is beautiful, service is always good, has a cozy vibe upstairs.
Ray's is an old faithful. The Cafe is excellent value for food, service and ambience.
We had a great time. The place was vibrant and the view is spectacular. The hostess got us a table at the window. Our waiter was pleasant and the food was yummy.
The Sablefish is sublime. Fresh, healthy, not overdone with sauce. Always done to perfection, can never get past it on the menu.
Always a must when in the emerald city!
Love going to Ray’s Cafe. Delicious food, gorgeous views, excellent and helpful service. Our waitress Sarah was very friendly and extra accommodating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.
We had a wonderful meal at Ray's Cafe. Our server was excellent and very friendly. We were served in a timely manner as we had an event we were attending afterward. Overall, great option with a wonderful view.
We had a business lunch at Ray's Cafe yesterday. The food and service was terrific and it was quiet enough to carry on a conversation easily.
And, of course, the view was stunning.
Great, very nice casual experience
Good quality, excellent service, and yet unremarkable. They need to expand the type of cuisines they offer, "jazz it uo."
This was our first time at Ray's Cafe and it was unfortunately very underwhelming. The views are fantastic, to be sure, but the food was mediocre at best. My wife got the seafood fettuccine dish and found the sauce completely flavorless and watery. I got the filet mignon and jumbo shrimp and found three small shrimp next to a filet that was overpowered by a deluge of demi glace. However, the mashed potatoes were very good, and my wife liked the carrot cake dessert. Seems like overall the Cafe kitchen is a clear step below the Boathouse kitchen.
