As always Ray's proves itself my favorite (I might even say the best) restaurant in Seattle. Best for birthdays. Best for taking out of town guests for a nice dinner. The menu is creative and delicious and the wine list is great and they have a good variety of prices (which are not much higher than retail at Wa wineries, this is unheard of for a restaurant this nice).

Had friends visiting from out of town. The service was in parity with what we felt was great evening to celebrate friends. The Halibut was so very good too!

Not as it used to be. We have been Ray's regulars in the dining room and on the deck in the summer. We have been there twice in the last month for two special occasions and have been really, really disappointed in the food. Just not up to par or the price. It all sounds good on the menu with great presentation but the food either lacks flavor or has too much and many times dry and over done both in fish and steak. Sorry, but it seems like Ray's is floating on their location and old reputation and not their food.

Have been coming to Ray’s since the 70’s. I wouldn’t keep coming back if it wasn’t great. I married a gal from Southern Calif 20+ years ago, and Ray’s has come to be her favorite restaurant in Seattle. Great service and friendly smiles.

Great food, wine, service, view, experience. Thank you to Chip, John and especially the kitchen for a wonderful meal and leftovers. I went for halibut my husband ordered, but couldn't resist the ramen and it was wonderful. The sable cheeks were also so good.

I have been to Ray's Boathouse quite a few times over the years, and every time I go it gets better. Ray's is unmatched in Seattle for a gourmet dining experience with a waterfront view. Most waterfront restaurants get by on their views alone, offering only mediocre food, but at Ray's the cuisine is superb. I especially recommend the smoky sablefish, pork belly and the scallops, which were all paired with delicious and unusual veggie sides.

We brought friends who were visiting from Clarkston, WA. They wanted SEAFOOD! We think of Ray’s immediately as it is one of the best seafood restaurants in Seattle. We had the bartender’s special cocktails, made with tequila, oysters, and a second appetizer of mixed shellfish and a few veggies. Three of us had sablefish in different preparations. One had the pasta and spring vegetable dish. We had a beautiful view of the sound and a delicious dinner.

I ordered the smoked sable fish which was cooked perfectly, but was very disappointed in the cold pickled cauliflower for the vegetable and white basmati rice. For one thing the color choice being all white was not pleasing to the eye and the taste not appropriate with the sable fish for the $44 dinner. However, my husband loved the sea scallops and steamed vegetables.

From the time we arrived to when we left our waiter, John, was so attentive and informative. He went out of his way to explain the food options and specialities. He came by frequently but did not interup our conversation. The food was fabulous which I expect when dining at Rays.

Excellent food, local, and fresh. The water view, the sunset, the boats and paddle boarders and few sea lions. The whole experience is great. I will go again and recommend it to others.

The location is stunning and the service was outstanding. Good space, and our request for a waterfront table was organised. The staff were very helpful, friendly and generally knowledgeable (although one attempt by a table clearer to engage with us revealed he didn't know the menu). The food was disappointing for the price point. The pork belly seemed overcooked and the sablefish, which I was looking forward to, seemed like a supermarket-bought crumbed/battered fish finger. The hot chocolate tasted artificial like something out of packet with hot water added. My wife mentioned she thought the crab sticks tasted like they had been soaking in chlorinated water. Given how fast the dishes came out of the kitchen to our table, my suspicions were raised about whether the food was actually prepared in response to our order, or whether short cuts are being taken to have ready-cooked food available.

We still had a great time on our date and enjoyed the location, but my wallet hurts more than that food should have cost.

Rays,

We were your returning guests last evening for Easter dinner with our 13 year old niece from the east coast (her first trip west and away from home) last evening for Easter dinner. Anticipation ran high for an amazing evening, ambience was good (sunset), service was good but then the cuisine taught failures. The crab cake starter was fine, the Caesar salads fine (after some acid, salt etc), but two of the entrees were of poor preparation. Salmon over-done and old fish, the prime rib was a complete disaster and sent back. The manager agreed with the disappointing prime rib, “I don’t know why they served that?”. The manager did offer a replacement and/or a piece to take home, we respectfully declined.

All establishments have off nights likely (surely) this was one for Rays Boathouse.

Please investigate and advise with all due alacrity.

: Barbara & Glenn

Food, service and ambience were outstanding. Only negative was the hostess who showed us to the table who wore a dour expression the entire time and it did not feel welcoming.

Disappointing as I thought the reservation was for the cafe and the Sunday brunch. Very disappointed to find out once we drove all the way out there that the reservation through the app was not correct. Food was just "ok" as was the service.

I'll keep it simple. Ray's is a Seattle classic and has never ever let us down. The fare is consistently great and the waitstaff is quite knowledgeable about their offerings. Even better, we have a family member with Celiac Disease who can eat here with high confidence that she is safe from contamination. I cannot tell you how comforting that is, but it speaks to high standards and compassion for their guests. Ray's is very high on my list of favorites!

I chose Ray's for the history i remembered from many years ago, back then Ray's was a "don't miss" destination for dining. Needless to say i was not let down...the service was top notch and the four of us had an incredible time while celebrating a birthday dinner. The food was extremely well prepared and presented wonderfully, our wait person was accommodating and entertaining as well. (don't forget the relaxing view of the water) I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a time tested and successful place who's employees obviously care for their customers.

As usual the food at Ray's was excellent. The seafood and chicken lovers declared that their dishes were delicious, except the vegetables that came with the Sablefish Kasu were a little tough.

The vegetarian options were skimpy - we had exactly 1 entree to choose from. It was delicious, but more choices in the appetizer and/or entree choices would have been nice.

The view was fantastic, and we enjoyed the view of the sunset. Good place for a birthday celebration. Poor choice if there are vegetarians in the party.

This was our second visit and we were treated so well! The food is excellent for the value and the service, drinks, and food, are all 5 star! You feel like you're in a very elegant restaurant without any pretension.
We like to dress up and the environment is suited for a dressy evening out, we were celebrating a belated Valentines date night and dressed nicely, but there were other diners there in jeans and hoodies (a little tacky if you ask me...) but they were treated just the same.
The first time we came to Ray's we brought our foodie-friend from LA ans she was so impressed with everything. The grapefruit- rosemary martini is a MUST-HAVE! Ray's will not disappoint!
