Average salmon. Overpriced salads. Martini not cold enough.
Filet mignon was very tender and juicy with lots of favor. Waiter was very nice and knowledgeable. I recommend this place to those who can spend at least 60 -70$ a person.
It was our 54th Anniversary. My wife and I enjoyed the Cocktails, King Salmon dinner,
Caesar Salad and Crème Brulee. It was a great evening and our waiter "John" was absolutely fantastic!
Scott and Doris R.
I chose Ray's for the history i remembered from many years ago, back then Ray's was a "don't miss" destination for dining. Needless to say i was not let down...the service was top notch and the four of us had an incredible time while celebrating a birthday dinner. The food was extremely well prepared and presented wonderfully, our wait person was accommodating and entertaining as well. (don't forget the relaxing view of the water) I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a time tested and successful place who's employees obviously care for their customers.
Beautiful view of the Puget Sound. Every seat in the house has a view and the food is delicious. It is a little on the pricey end but a great deal for a good night out or special occasion.
Great place with amazing view and delicious food! Perfect for dates and special occasions
Another wonderful dining experience at Ray's Boathouse, a local gem. Great seafood, beautiful view, excellent service, and quiet enough to have conversations! A special Seattle experience.
As usual the food at Ray's was excellent. The seafood and chicken lovers declared that their dishes were delicious, except the vegetables that came with the Sablefish Kasu were a little tough.
The vegetarian options were skimpy - we had exactly 1 entree to choose from. It was delicious, but more choices in the appetizer and/or entree choices would have been nice.
The view was fantastic, and we enjoyed the view of the sunset. Good place for a birthday celebration. Poor choice if there are vegetarians in the party.
Highly recommend the Rosemary Gougeres w/Gruyere sauce to have with a cocktail (their Black Cherry Margarita is a great choice!) followed by the Braised Pork Belly & Crispy Sablefish for dinner.
Everything was delicious . The staff was dedicated to making sure everyone had a great experience . Amazing view, scrumptious food.
We love Rays, preferring the main level. The view is unchallenged in Seattle, food is marvelous, and wait staff is attentive. We will return often.
Ray's is one of the best seafood restaurants in this town, with by the way incredible desserts. Get a seat by the window and you have the best the northwest can offer.
This was our second visit and we were treated so well! The food is excellent for the value and the service, drinks, and food, are all 5 star! You feel like you're in a very elegant restaurant without any pretension.
We like to dress up and the environment is suited for a dressy evening out, we were celebrating a belated Valentines date night and dressed nicely, but there were other diners there in jeans and hoodies (a little tacky if you ask me...) but they were treated just the same.
The first time we came to Ray's we brought our foodie-friend from LA ans she was so impressed with everything. The grapefruit- rosemary martini is a MUST-HAVE! Ray's will not disappoint!
Great place to take out-of-towners. Good food, good service, good views.
nice place, but menu is very limited. The food selection is mostly very rich food. Not a place that I feel to have a good meal, more of a show off place on how much you would send to impress people.
Booked this to celebrate my wife's birthday before she gives birth to our first baby. We don't usually go out often but we definitely felt like this was worth it. A friend recommended this place and though it was very pricey, we felt it was totally worth the experience. We shared the clam chowder, crab cakes, the sake fused sablefish entree and the scallop and filet mignon entree. The bread was a great addition as well but we definitely felt full before we were able to complete the entrees.
Delicious food and awesome service. Great location as well (right on the water).
Shelby provided excellent service and food was fantastic.
It was great! View was fantastic, drinks and appetizers were wonderful. The main courses were a bit lackluster though
I have frequented Rays for 45 years, through many menus and apparently an ownership change or two. But the unique views still play out, and the service is almost always top tier. Valentine's Day was no exception. The set menu offered choices almost any seafood lover could embrace, and the wait staff kept to the beat, not easy on "date night". This old timer still gets what he pays for at Ray's. Seattle restaurants come and go, and diners have higher expectations, but my security password is still Rays when prompted for favorite restaurant.
Pretty good food, great ambiance and view, great service!
I told them prior that it was a special occasion and they got us a nice corner spot by the windows.
Salmon dinner not impressed with.
Rays Caesar wasn’t anything beyond others.
I’ll have to say Anthonys has better food, but not better service. Rays service was very good!
We had a lovely dinner from start to finish. Excellent service from Karen, our server and delicious food that was served piping hot. We live in Reno but travel to Seattle periodically for a long weekend and always make a point of having dinner at Ray's. Our favorite restaurant in Seattle.
It was a great evening. Everything from valet, the hostess, the wait staff, the cooks and the food was incredible. We were never left wanting! Thanks again!
Great service. Our waiter, Daniel, was very personable and knowledgeable.
As usual, the food and service was outstanding. Dessert items were less spectacular.
YUM. Ray's does it again, and again, and again! Just perfect.
Had not been there in a while. Service was very attentive, informative and polite.
Had the beet salad and chowder for appetizers. Beets were enjoyable, chowder had way too many flavors that conflicted and something was not right about it.
Sablefish was very good, king salmon was ok.
All in all a fair experience, just nothing that stood out for the high prices.
Great dinner! Perfect service.
Sunday evening at Ray's Boathouse is always special. The crowds are light and the meals and service are always top notch. Take advantage of the specials - their seafood is exceptional and uniquely prepared. The ambiance and the view are inspiring.
I had a negative experience on my first and only time visiting Rays Boathouse. I will not be going back. We were going for my anniversary with my husband. We were sat next to a family of four with their two children who were watching a show loudly on their ipad/cell phone. It absolutely took away from a romantic experience. I understand that I cannot blame Rays Boathouse for this. We tried to ignore them and enjoy our experience. Our drinks (iced tea and water) were empty several times for about 5 minutes while we looked around for our server. My husband ordered a Caesar salad and had the chicken as his entree. The salad came and had 1 piece of Brown lettuce. We did not think much about it and just removed it from the plate. Once the chicken came, it was pink in the middle and had a dark red pool that came out of it. After another 5 minutes, we finally were about to find our server. He promptly removed the chicken. At this point, we were just ready to go. The manager came over and apologized that , "the color was undesirable". He offered an additional dish but we had lost our appetite. When we asked for the bill, they had removed the chicken but did not offer anything else as an apology or good faith on our next visit. It was not a good experience and do not recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I had an evening away from the kids and decided to try out Ray's. Heard lots of good things but we did not have a good experience. Maybe it was a bad night for the kitchen? Wine was not stellar and I actually returned a glass due to it tasting old (first time I had ever done that.) Think red bottle you left open for 3-4 days. Waiter seemed surprised but still replaced the glass. Waiter was overall thorough and attentive. Appetizers were bland but better than the main course. I had scallops which were good but not what I would describe as tasty. The overwhelming flavor of my wife's fish was burned food. She didn't eat any of it nor could I. Waiter seemed to think of us as picky and just boxed it up. Still charged us for it. Seemed like more effort than it was worth to argue. Needless to say we won't be coming back again.
Excellent food. Marginal service-surprising this time compared to previous experience. Delay in clearing table between course Entres brought at irregular intervals for six people Smaller gratuity was well deserved this time.
food was great, I had the smoked sable fish, excellent! Got there early so went upstairs and had a drink in the bar. quick and friendly service.
Service was lacking - either assigned too many tables and/ or understaffed
Food very good
Great food, and perfect view. The seasonal selection of sablefish dishes was just fantastic. The smoked sablefish was out of this world and the one paired with pork bellies was surprising, creative, and so very tasty. Good place for the whole family for an anniversary dinner. Would love a suggestion on wines for each of the dishes.
I had great expectations for Rays. Everything was good with exception to the food. It’s not that it didn’t taste good, it just didn’t blow my mind. I dropped 200$ and left somewhat unsatisfied. The portions were to small for the prices and the flavor wasn’t enough to bring tears to my eyes like I have had before at other locations because the food was so good. I would go again but not a place I would frequent.
