Breakfast features Ravens" Portobello "Benedict" on house made English Muffins; signature Citrus Polenta with freshly harvested greens and cashew cream sauce; Ravens Chiliquilles, and much more.
The resort as a whole is an A++++ excellent experience. Cocktails are awesome, complimentary coffee and dessert in the afternoon was sublime. It's so, so nice to be able to stay somewhere and not have to worry about asking questions about the ingredients. My main gripe is there are no non-mushroom meat substitutes (seitan, etc), at least not at the time of year that we went (mid-August). I think the menu felt a little lacking in variety as well; we stayed for 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners and 1 lunch, and the same veggies/flavors got a little repetitive by the end.
Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, lovely location, and dining to live music with a fireplace is definitely a special experience.

Raven's Restaurant is Vegan Heaven! Just wish it wasn't so expensive!!!
We were staying near by, and I decided to add this to our long weekend. My husband and I had a friend visiting. The two of them are big time carnivores, and I’m a vegetarian.
The restaurant is just beyond the resort lobby. It was welcoming, in very much a zen sort of way.
The house specialty cocktail list was interesting, and our choices were fabulous: Ravens martini, house margarita($24 & worth every penny, and the chocolate martini.
We shared the garden spring rolls and bruschetta. The food came quickly, was wonderfully fresh and carefully plated and absolutely delicious.
For entrees we had: sea palm house special, ravioli, and fettuccini with skallops (mushrooms). They were all different, and surprisingly good. The sea palm was a somewhat overpowering seaweed like flavor, though.
The desserts were interesting, and a bit healthy tasting.
It was obvious we were dining on all vegan dishes, and it was fun.
Food was amazing. Service was perfect. View was great. Nothing but good things to say about this place, I will be back OFTEN.

Quite simply - the best vegan food I’ve ever had. Highly recommended.
I recommend the garden salad with tofu. Both my wife and I agreed it was the best tofu we've ever had; it tasted like french toast! The cashew dressing was also delicious. The tacos were a disappointment; bland and way overpriced ($25 for 3 tacos). We also weren't feeling the ambiance of barking dogs while we ate, although that happened towards the end of our meal.
Been wanting to eat there for a while and it did not disappoint. The vegan food was excellent, we had the ravioli, and seaweed strudel and both were great!
A little pricey for a casual drop in, but very nice for a special occasion. And the ambiance and views are great as well!
While Raven's food is good, it doesn't quite attain excellence. The ravioli had a delicious sauce, but the cashew cheese filling was bland and uninteresting. The carrot cake was more of a spice cake, lacking any discernible carrots, and there was too much of (again) a bland, uninteresting icing. We waited a long time for our appetizers, waited again for the main dish, and waited some more for dessert. Fortunately the ambiance was pleasant enough to make the slow pace tolerable.
Always creative offerings beautifully presented. The dining room could use warmer lighting. The overhead and sconces give the room a gloomy, cold feeling.
Raven's was a great place to have a vegan meal. We were surprised there are not more places in Mendocino that are vegan friendly, but Raven's made up for it. They have a wonderful selection of foods in a beautiful spot.
Not very exciting unless you're actually vegan/vegatarian.
Inspite of it being a vegan restaurant, it was salty, very rich, and wasn't sure what I was eating. great ambiance and service, will go back and make other choices knowing the preparations can b e confusing .
The Ravens is never a disappointment. The food is wonderful and the service is perfect. We were celebrating my husband's 75th birthday and everything we ordered was beautifully served and as delicious as it looked. We returned the next morning for breakfast, another treat since we crave their homemade scones. When we visit Mendocino, we only eat at Ravens since the menu is varied, it is vegan fare and the chef never misses the mark of excellence. Unfortunately, we left 2 days early because of a very bad experience at the Mendocino Hotel. The next time we return, we will stay at the Stanford Inn so that we can enjoy our meals at Ravens by simply walking over from our room.
I took my parents here for Father's Day brunch. It was delicious! There were so many amazing looking options on the menu we had a hard time deciding what to order. As a vegan, that's such a novelty for me. My parents are not vegan and they thought the food was delicious also. My meat and potatoes loving dad even had tempeh for the first time and loved it! The dining room is lovely and peaceful and has a beautiful view. The staff were very courteous and helpful. All around a great experience. Oh, and we had vegan creme brulee for dessert~ soooooo good!
Classy dining room but acoustics were such that noise from other diners (with young children) detracted from an otherwise special outing. Most of menu is VEGAN, so be aware! The BBQ pulled "pork" flatbread sandwich was spicier than I expected but a good substitute for the real thing. Coleslaw was a bit bland. Fries, soup, salad and creme brulee were excellent! Sometimes the waiter will deliver an item compliments of the cook. A nice touch!
Our trips to Mendocino are not complete without a dinner at Raven's. We love everything about this place - the location, the ambiance, the chef, the staff, and most of all, the food. This was our anniversary and Raven's did not disappoint. We love the enchiladas and the beet salad!
I LOVE The Raven's restaurant -- it's my favorite restaurant, I've been there a handful of times over the years and no matter what I've ordered it's tasty, healthy, fresh, and creative! I wish it was closer to my house and I'd eat there more often. I'm enjoying trying recipes from their cookbook too.
The Stanford Inn by the Sea and the Ravens restaurant are absolutely astounding. We eloped at the inn and dined in the restaurant all week. It was such a luxurious treat and we will definitely be coming back for anniversaries. We bought the "dining at the Ravens" cook book and I can't wait to try out the recipes!
This is our favorite place to celebrate a birthday. For Vegans there is no better place--just came back from Paris--and Raven beats vegan options in Paris. I will say no more.
A beautiful spot and an ok vegan choice. But Trillium was our favorite in Mendocino.
Exquisite vegan cuisine! We had the lotus root strudel and the mushroom flatbread which were both delicious. Dessert was the pecan pie with maple infused dairy free ice cream - absolutely divine! Took my Mom for Mother's Day Eve - we will make a return trip whenever in the area!

- Burrito* – Scrambled tofu or braised tempeh, mixed garden vegetables, black beans, rice, Ravens’ enchilada sauce and our cashew cheese in a whole wheat tortilla. With salsa cruda and sour cream, choice of country potatoes, sweet potatoes or refried pinto beans 12.50
- Garden Scramble – Seasoned tofu or tempeh, braised seasonal garden vegetables. Choice of country potatoes, sweet potatoes or refried pinto beans 12.50
- Stanford Herbed Polenta – Our signature brunch entree – grilled herbed polenta with garden greens sautéed in our braising sauce. Served with our cashew “cream” sauce 15.00
- Chilaquiles – Tortilla chips sautéed in enchilada sauce, (optional: served with tofu-spinach scramble), Spanish rice and refried beans 13.00
- Kale Salad – Massaged kale with raisins, avocado verjus vinaigrette topped with cauliflower ceviche and avocado tartare 14 (GF, NF, OF)
- Sea Palm & Root Vegetable Strudel – Local sea palm, carrots, onions in sesame phyllo, accompanied by a stir-fry of broccoli, shiitake, bell pepper and cashews. Served with Umeboshi and wasabi sauces 27 (NF option)
- Ravens Tres Tacos – One of each taco with shredded lettuce, avocado, achiote rice, pinto beans, Ravens salsa 23 (GF; NF & OF option).
All of our meals were so good that we bought the cookbook, and will attempt to make them at home. Wish us luck!
This vegan restaurant serves interesting and delicious vegan food in a gourmet restaurant setting. We came with low expectations, because of the vegan limitation and had a wonderful time.
One of the non-vegetarian guests declared that this was the best vegan food they ever had.

We have been vegans for a couple decades. Over the years vegan dining has grown in breadth and sophistication. One of the most ironic parts of the Ravens Restaurant, is just outside the doors of the restaurant, the lobby has a bookstore of vegan books for sale which shows how great vegan dining can be. Yet the menu at the Ravens offers, Mexican, Italian and other basic offerings which are easily available anywhere else. Every vegan knows how to order vegan at non vegan restaurants. The fact that the Ravens offer their versions for 4-6 times the prices is a HUGE letdown. The food is totally inspired, and no better than what you might have found thirty years ago - without the sprouts. It's time the management and the chefs open up the books found in their own lobby and revamp the menu. A WELL BELOW average dinner for four (two adults and two kids (10 & 12) - and the kids had pasta with sauce) with no wine with tip was $235. On the positive side, the servers were great. We also, out of desperation, returned for breakfast the following morning and found tasteless tofu scramble, old potatoes and more Mexican. Lame, lame, lame.
It was such a treat to dine somewhere where every single item is exceptional. My sea palm strudel was unique and delicious. The barbecue trumpet mushroom tacos were delightful, and the portobello tacos, while very different, were just as good. The pecan torte was perfection.
We visited Raven's Restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. As vegans with special dietary needs, this was one of the best options we have experienced! We loved the Kale salad, and the red pepper ricotta is perfect! We attended both breakfast and dinner here, breakfast was the best!
The food was amazing! I had to leave the area but the rest of my family stayed one more day just to be able to eat breakfast and dinner here the next day. High quality, beautiful and amazing tasting food.
Whether you are a vegan, or not this place is fantastic. Local, organic ingredients are combined to bring you an adventurous and tasty meal. Good selection of wines, mixed drinks and beers. Oh ya, the desserts are very good, as well.

From the moment we arrived until we stepped away from our table, every aspect of dining at The Ravens was memorable. Our server was kind and well-informed. Service was prompt but not hurried. The food felt like it had been created not only with the best fresh organic ingredients available, but also with caring. My husband and I commented on both the artistry of the meal and the presence of loving attention given to its creation, something impossible to "see", but an aspect of our experience at The Ravens that we both felt palpably.
Being a committed carnivore, I am astonished at what flavors this chef can tease out of plants. It is a game changer and we .will definitely return
