The food was okay, i don’t feel like it was worth what we paid for. The shrimp gnocchi was kind of bland, and tasted very fishy.

We had never been here before and I am sure that we will be back. The building itself is a real jewel for downtown and the bar was very quaint. I would highly recommend your restaurant to anyone. Our food was fabulous!!!!!!!

The food was very good although I was a little surprised with the cost. With tip it was just under $200 for 2. Of course we did each have a couple of drinks, plus one dessert. They charge for bread which is the first place I’ve ever been charged for bread prior to dinner. All in all it was a great place to go pre-theater.

This is such a pretty restaurant and the food is always great and presented well. It feels very unique and cozy with a hearth in the main dining area. Good wine selections too.

This place has a great energy and is a fabulous old building. Food was really good. I recommend sitting at the bar so you can watch what is going on in the kitchen. Really fun.

I had the salmon special with saffron hollandaise. To say it was tremendous is an understatement. The salmon was prepared perfectly--the skin was delightfully crispy and sounded like a potato chip crunching as I put my fork through it. Every bite was better than the rest. Chef Mondok curates food like nobody else in Portland. His passion for vibrant flavors and picturesque presentation make Raven & Rose one of my favorite dining experiences in Portland.

Most of the food was quite good, however one steak dinner came cold and they forgot to bring a steak knife. We had to get up and chase someone down for the knife, which was reflective of the mediocre service in general. So by the time the steak was cut, it was really cold and rare instead of med-rare. The waiter did apologize and fix it, but my wife pretty much finally got her meal while we were halfway done. For a place in this price range, I would expect the place to adjust the bill for those kind of mistakes. I can think of a few places in the Portland area that have better steak, with a better sauce, has a larger cut, with vegetables for the same price or less.

The food was always good and sometimes incredibly unique combinations of flavors. The service was very friendly, though it definitely missed the finer points. ( Our small plates were whisked away before the appetizer arrived so we were sharing it across a table from the platter. We were asked if we wanted bread and one of us replied us but none was delivered. Also, a request to see the wine list again was forgotten initially.) Despite the shortcomings, the server personalities won us over. While we were hopping for an older, cozy, heritage atmosphere, the decor felt more like corporate hotel restaurant. Despite all this, the food carries through and we will be back again. (Note, however, that the bar is more comfortable and accessible, though loud and often crowded around happy hour.)

Enjoyed brunch of excellent quality! I asked for modifications to their menu, which they not only happily and easily obliged, but made my meal even more perfect (for me). The professional and friendly service was equally pleasing!

The big issue is value for money. Menu items are overpriced and undersized. Wine list is mediocre and even more overpriced than the food menu. The food itself is good, but the value for money just is not there.

If you get to the restaurant before your guests arrive, or just for drinks, suggest you go upstairs to the beautiful bar and sitting area.

I had an undeniable craving for a proper English breakfast like my dear old grandmother used to make. An exhaustful search of the various menu's around the metro area finally led us to an amazing brunch at Raven & Rose. The coffee was wonderful, the food delightful and satisfying, and the service was absolutely wonderful. It was a solid win.

Here's what I wrote on Yelp:

The restaurant makes creative and sensitive use of its mid-19th century building. Its menu is interesting and attractive.  The food we had (the double pork chop, the tomato bisque soup, and the green salad) was delicious, beautifully presented, and while pricey, worth the cost.

The same cannot be said for the wine.  The list is short.  The prices simply extortionate.  We chose the least expensive bottle on order ($45) and it was mediocre French red.  Most offerings were three figures.  It's a shame that the management of such an attractive and successful restaurant thinks its a good idea to make the price of an evening out a shock to any but the most well-padded budget.

The food was outstanding. The receptionists were warm, friendly and delightful. Unfortunately, we found the portions tiny in relationship to the prices. We've always loved dining at Raven and Rose, but feel the value is not what it used to be.

Great gnocchi, which is hard to find. Also loved the Ken’s artisan bread and cracker plate. A little pricey for lunch but we were there for a special occasion, and the food lived up to expectations. Good service as well.

Great location for events at the Keller or Lincoln Hall. The menu has become more meat centric including venison and rabbit which is not what I personally prefer. Limited fish options, no main chicken dish. Cost has risen noticeable since our last visit.

Out for an evening at the ballet after a hectic day at work for both of us. Early dinner before performance turned out to be just the ticket to a magnificent and totally restorative night. We were expertly cared for by Joe on a very busy night at The Rose. His calm manner and superb service was greatly appreciated. Love this place now and will definitely return. Soon!

I'm very disappointed. Our reservation seated us at the bar, behind the draft beer handles, rather than a table. I may as well have not made a reservation. Service was lousy, food overpriced and my wife and I were still hungry. Worst birthday situation and never going back.

The food here is exceptionally delicious and pretty to look at, but the portions are skimpy. I was very disappointed in my $36 entree of venison which came with only two small potato medallions. I spent a fortune but left hungry. Disappointing.

The food and drink was amazing. By far the best food I've ever ate. The rabbit was tender and flavorful. The filet of beef was tender and cooked perfectly. It was a bit busy for a Saturday at 5:30, and the bar tender was like a dozen drinks behind is the only complaint, but still worth it. I'd highly recommend it!

First time at this gem of a restaurant. Sunday brunch before a symphony matinee. We both had bean toast, which may not sound all that appealing, but it consisted of white beans on a thick slab of luscious grilled bread, accompanied by squash and a hearty trumpet (?) mushroom, with delicate greens and a poached egg on top. Our server was engaging and attentive, and the host was gracious. The pub feel was cozy. We have already declared Raven & Rose as our pre-concert meeting spot for the coming season. Plus the building is gold LEED certified, an impressive accomplishment, and makes me like this place that much more.

First, the food was excellent, the venison preparation with huckleberry sauce was fantastic. The beet salad was creative and tasty. However, the wine list is sparse and very very very overpriced. The selection is so weak with only wines that should be a fraction of the cost on it, that I will not return because of it. Also, there was a party, a bachelorette party going on in the main dining room and the staff encouraged the loud and obnoxious screams that disturbed our dinner. It's too bad because the food is excellent.

The food was not what we expected for the price. My husband and son-in-law ordered the steak and they actually thought they were accidentally served pot roast. Considering the price point...not too happy. And the $16 salad with the warm pork belly was very disappointing. Sadly, we won't be back.

The food is excellent and the menu is well thought out, if not a bit limited. The cocktails are awesome, the bar is very well run. Service was a bit below the professional level of the venue and the price point. The wine list was very limited and priced completely out of range vs the cost of the meal or entrees. The ambience was excellent. A very cute and fun space.
