About Raven & Rose
The quality and sourcing of our ingredients is our highest priority at Raven & Rose. We work directly with our local farmers, purveyors and artisans to bring the very best to the each dish and drink we serve. We strive to learn as much as possible about the sustainable, organic and humane practices of each of the producers, and work to select products with the highest integrity. From pastured meats to sustainably harvested seafoods to organic produce to biodynamic and natural wines, the health of the planet and of our guests and our employees is paramount to our business philosophy.
We also believe that everything is better when it is handmade. We are dedicated to making everything that we can in-house, daily and by hand. Our kitchen produces fresh pastas, pastries, crackers, soups and sauces. We butcher steaks, roasts, rabbits, birds, and fish in-house everyday. We believe it is all worth the effort, and we hope you will taste the difference!

Raven & Rose Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I came for Valentine's Day dinner. They had made special accommodations for my celiac disease, serving the pasta course with just the filling. Everything was beautifully prepared, lovely to look at and eat. Portions were perfect. We had the pairing menu, and it was one of the best ever! The Eton Mess was one of the best desserts I have ever had. And they got us out to our show in time. Thank you to the chefs and servers who made Raven & Rose such an unforgettable experience. Mwa!
The food was great and the variety of food on the menu was very creative and wonderful selection to choose from. They seemed to have excellent quality Oregon Pinot Noir wine in stock. There is a bar with a pool table upstairs that was nicely furnished.
Only the negatives side of this restaurant was their chairs were very uncomfortable, there was no support on the seats. I would recommend seating at the booth.
My friend was a little late, but the waitstaff were friendly and gracious. We had a 10 mo old with us and, again, the staff were friendly and accommodating. I love the food AND the ambiance AND the staff at Raven & Rose. I have never had a bad experience here. It is one of my favorite "go to" spots.
Our meal was delicious and I really like the lighting. Soft, warm and with just the right amount of light to read the menu. All of agreed that the wine list is very limited and quite expensive. Many bottles are over $100 and only one red under $50 and nothing in the $ 60-75 range which is the price range is we prefer when going out unless it’s a special occasion when a splurge is warranted. We chose to order by the glass, but still very pricey.
We really enjoyed our experience the first time we dined at Raven & Rose and I was excited to go back and take friends. Our experience last night was horrible. From our server who was distracted and seemed annoyed to be waiting on us, to the food that was over-cooked to a point that we actually wondered if it was what we ordered. I hesitate to cast bad light on the kitchen because there is a chance our server did not communicate our order correctly to the kitchen. She excused herself twice when taking our order when she noticed people she knew walking by... twice... literally... it was like a comedy skit. Sadly, we did not get an opportunity to inform our server about our food being wrong because she did not return to check on us. Eventually she arrived with dessert menus but we were so beyond trying to save the experience that we had decided to embrace the humor of it in front of our friends and not be negative to further ruin the evening. My husband and I eat out often and we are not hard to please. In fact, this is the first negative review I have written, ever. Typically there are aspects of a restaurant that counter balance the occasional mistake, making the overall experience good. I have nothing positive to say about our dinner last night. I felt like we were a hassle to our server simply because we were there and that our food was an after-thought. Disappointing is not even strong enough to describe the evening.
Came here before our first symphony and was amazed at the selections on the menus.
I had Venison in huckleberry sauce with potatoes and my friend had Prawn Gnocchi both better than we had ever had before. We also shared the Mussles and beet salad and loved them.
I highly recommend this place for dates or special occasions for it is worth the price.
Great service, every employee was very attentive. There were 7 of us and we had made a reservation. Their table for a bigger party is set in the back, nice and semi-private. I love the atmosphere, feels like you wandered into an English Pub but on the fancy side. The corned-beef sandwich was super tasty and the home-made relish on it was the best I've tasted.
We arrived on time for our reservations and were told that the table was not ready but we could have drinks upstairs. We had less than a drink before being seated thirty minutes late. Would not have been a problem until the waiter immediately refused to serve us alcohol with barely a glance at us. When asked why he simply said glossy eyes. It was new years eve and we had had less than a full drink. We promptly paid for the oyster appetizer we ordered and left the restaurant. Higgins which is next door was very polite and seated us withing seconds of walking in the door with no reservations. I would not recommend to anyone unless they would like to put a damper on their evening like it did with us.
We were dining before a concert and the staff were very accommodating to bring our items out as promptly as possible. The food was wonderful and the staff were knowledgeable. I have never had a bad meal or bad experience of any kind here and we eat here often.
We enjoyed the signature cocktails, the entrees we chose - venison and steak, and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. All were outstanding. However, for a special occasion when we would have enjoyed a less 'energetic' noise level, as is euphemistically described, less bustle and bang would have been appreciated and made this our future 'go to' venue.
Always a great meal at Raven and Rose. The waitstaff is consistently upbeat and very knowledgeable of the menu and specials. We always order the fisherman’s board and enjoy the whimsical approach to the presentation. It’s never the same twice and that’s why we love it. 5 out of 5 stars!
Christmas eve at Raven and Rose, with family. Really lovely - tomato soup, sounds prosaic but was exquisite. Prime rib and Yorkshire pudding, sauced perfectly, sauteed oyster and other mushrooms. Butterscotch pudding was enough for two, and perfectly butterscotchy. I ordered a drink that was too strong for me, and they exchanged it, no problem. I appreciated that.
Wonderful place to eat in Portland. Menu may be a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it for an occasional night out. We ordered the flat bread for our starter, which was delicious and a nice light snack before our main courses. We also ordered old fashioned cocktails, which were well made. For our main courses we had the rabbit three ways and the lamb shank which we would highly recommend. Our waitress gave us great recommendations for wine pairings for our meals and we left completely satisfied with our meal before heading out for a show.
My daughter and I were going to a show near by and were looking for a place to eat. We wanted something different than the average and found Raven and Rose. We made a reservation but arrived early and we were still able to get seated right away. Great old classic atmosphere. My daughter had a vegetarian option and she said it was very good. I had the filet of beef and it was to die for! So good! We also shared the sticky toffee pudding which was also very delicious! When I'm back in the area I would love to go back. :)
