Raven & Rose
We also believe that everything is better when it is handmade. We are dedicated to making everything that we can in-house, daily and by hand. Our kitchen produces fresh pastas, pastries, crackers, soups and sauces. We butcher steaks, roasts, rabbits, birds, and fish in-house everyday. We believe it is all worth the effort, and we hope you will taste the difference!
The food was excellent, the service was all you could ask for, the location was perfect. A great experience!
The food was great, the service was efficient but not particularly friendly. It seemed like we were being judged for some of our menu questions. I will come back though - I would still recommend the restaurant for a business lunch.
I had a colleague in from Boston He said the pork was one of the best meals he’s ever had. The rest of us had the salmon and it was delicious.
Our server was lovely and our entire experience was wonderful.
Arrived at PDX earlier in the day and found this restaurant near our hotel where we could meet our friends and enjoy dinner. This was a great find. We ordered steak, salmon and risotto. All were excellent, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Winter Sangria (hot) was pretty good too. Everyone there was very welcoming and our server was great. Will definitely stop in again when we return to Portland.
We were shown to our table right away and were asked about our evening plans so they would know if we had to be somewhere at a certain time. We did have tickets for a show and we finished dessert right on time. We had never been to Raven & Rose before but we do plan to go again. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially the steak and Yorkshire pudding. Don't expect to have an inexpensive meal, but the service and the food and the location were excellent.
We absolutely loved our lunch date. The atmosphere was very charming, food was so delicious and our swerves Katie Lynn was a real sweetheart. We have been sharing our find and experience with our friends and we will be back.
Service is certainly good and the food quality is top notch. The volume of food is s bit challengingly light.
Our Thanksgiving dinner was outstanding. We appreciated the the appetizers and the wine. It was nice to have choices to select from to customize our meals. Our server, Kaitlin, was attentive and most pleasant.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
We have lived within a block of Raven & Rose for 3 years now. We have been coming here every year for Thanksgiving Dinner. We always look forward to it. Food, service & ambiance are exceptional.
I would recommend if a friend were going to have drinks and happy hour - not a holiday meal. For
over $200(w/tip of course), we were as cramped as economy class on an airplane, and the door
kept a sweep of icy air over us! The servers were prompt, but there we were, elbows tucked in,
and I had envisioned a bit of atmosphere and an actual table - away from drafts. Salmon good,
soup good, and dessert just ok. We do plan on coming back for music and drinks upstairs.
Our Thanksgiving Feast was truly memorable! Our host greeted us on the front porch as we approached the restaurant, asking if we were the "(family name) party." We loved that, which put us all in a convivial mood. We were then escorted to our family table, separated from the activities at the front desk by a thick, green, ceiling-to-floor velour curtain. The ambience was divine, our server was attentive and informative, and when we were concerned that our party's conversations over appetizers might make us late for an appointment 60 minutes later, our maitre'd spoke to the kitchen and ... Voila! everything came together for a relaxing, savoring, delicious (but not too filling) feast on a holiday afternoon. What a special treat! We will return!
Great service and good food
Really great ambiance, attentive staff and wonderful food. On the pricier end, but the quality of food reflects the higher price point
We thought it was a tad expensive but the worst part was the uncomfortable chairs. The back hit the middle of our backs like a single protruding board and the seats provided no support. A member of our party described the seat as being like sitting in a hammock. But the food was good.
This was my first visit and I will definitely go to Raven and Rose again. The beetroot salad was spectacular and the filet of beef perfect in every way! I brought a guest with me who is a non-carb eating protein person and she enjoyed everything about the meal. Next time, I will try to save enough room for dessert, or at least order one to go. The only problem will be, which of the amazing choices to select?
We waited quite awhile before we were greeted by our server and given water to start. We had enough time to decide our meal before she arrived and thankfully we just ordered drinks and food all at once, our drinks came after our appetizer was partially consumed. The ambience and the meal were amazing. Server was nice and moderately attentive. We had a great time and would definitely go again.
Great hostess, fab food.
Specials are usually good but pricey. Service is always great. Sometimes too noisy.
Good food but extremely slow service. Food came before drinks. Had to ask multiple times for drinks. Cute restaurant and ambiance but quite loud
Not my first time here. The food was excellent as usual. Had the special seasonal salad with a maple flavor dressing. Then a “saddle” cut of rabbit which was quite tasty...moist and tender. Finally dessert of apple hand pie with ginger ice cream.
Great ambience great staff, makes for a wonderful Gastro pub atmosphere.
The food was fabulous the only thing that was kind of weird was it took a long time to get cream and sugar for our coffee! but other than that everything was awesome!
Everything was great, but you seem to be short-staffed when we were there, as we had to wait a while to have our orders taken.
Service was slow even though it was not busy. Steak was overcooked. Restaurant is quite drafty, dress warmly.
Our new favorite restaurant. The pairings were amazing, drinks were flavorful, the building is unique, conversations were easily had. I'm not a werewolf.
Excellent, as always! Venison filet to die for!!!
Absolutely the best French toast I have ever eaten. I am 66. Will be my "go to" restaurant in the future.
The Raven and Rose is decorated in a rustic style, but what stood out were the service and food.
My girlfriend got a corned beef hash that she and I both declared the best we'd ever had, and I got a Yorkshire pudding French toast that was delightfully smooth and delicious.
Service was attentive, friendly, and very cheerful.
I think a return visit or two (or more) is warranted to make a further survey of the menu.
we loved the service and our food was great. i had salmon and my husband had the pork chop. the buttterscotch pudding was delish. drinks a bit over priced but thats all . i loved the open kitchen.
Amazing cocktails, great food. Was slightly disappointed the cheese plate was not local at all (all European), but fabulous. Always is.
We completely enjoyed our 40th Anniversary dinner at Raven & Rose. The food was outstanding, the service was as good as it could possibly be and we enjoyed everything. At times we felt we had three servers bringing us our food. They recognized our occasion with special touches like after-dinner drinks on the house.
We're looking forward to our next visit.
The service and food was awesome. Loved the decor and the ambiance of the restaurant. Great place to meet people before going to a performance at Lincoln Hall or any event around that area. Looks like a fun place to meet friends and hang out in the bar as well.
The food and service were both excellent. It was a very enjoyable dinner.
Excellent meal with good value and solid service . My husband and I enjoyed.
Everyone raved about how it was the best and tenderest beef they had ever had. The Yorkshire pudding was just a little burnt. Still, it was a great experience and our out-of-town guests were very happy about the Raven & Rose.
It’s my go to place for downtown lunch meetings. Great service and solid lunch fare. Just a really good business lunch experience.
I had friends in from out of town who wanted a meet up for a Portland dining experience, What better than the iconic Raven & Rose? You did not disappoint!! Great ambiance, great architecture, great staff & fantastic food. The only feedback is your house Pinot (Appliloni) was weak- literally tasted watered down- our service person immediately replaced it with the house red from Cana’s Feast. Thanks for a great evening.
Excellent food great service
Food was ok. Pretty expensive given the quality. There are better choices in Portland for the price
The restaurant has a great character. Lots of candles. The guy at the next table lit his menu on fire. The server put it out quickly. The menu is small but thoughtful. The cocktails were crafted.
