Rattle N Hum West
Very much a bar scene but got seated in the back section off to the side so it was a bit quieter. Service was top shelf and the food was surprisingly great. We started with wings, spring rolls with chili lime sauce and the buffalo chicken dip not expecting such large portions. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the goat cheese salad w/ steak was fresh but the dish of the night was the chicken curry w/ the house name. Plenty of TVs to catch your favorite game made the evening a blast. Known for it’s craft beer list a mile long they came out within minutes of being ordered, like I said, top shelf service!!
We had a table for 4 and the place was basically empty at 6 pm on a Saturday, which is not a good sign. The beer list was excellent but the food was quite mediocre. The cheesecake was like something out of the local warehouse club, and everything else bang ordinary.
The service was really poor. They later told us that they didn’t have a server so their bartenders were covering, which explains the bad service but doesn’t excuse the mandatory 20% service charge added to our bill — pre-tax, mind you, so we paid tax on that charge as well. A mandatory service charge for a party of 4? Puhlease. We won’t be going back.
Food was pretty good. Bar food. More a bar than a restaurant feel.
If you’re looking for a good beer bar, this place was spot on. A fantastic, wide array of beer styles to chose from. Was with my wife and and 2 young sons and they loved it here too. Cool vibe, nice and dimly lit inside. Had a great burger, and they offer kids meals. Would return, and actually we ate there twice outa our 4 day trip to NYC.
Visiting from the UK booked to watch the Champions league final Great service, food and atmosphere and the prices were very good for the centre of NYC
The food was okay but not much of a selection. Even tough I was in the next room over, the music was too loud for my taste.
This was an OK experience. Not great, but not awful. The food was fine - nothing spectacular, but it was fine. The wait person was either having a bad day and really did not feel like engaging with her customers, or she's just not a service industry type person. It would have been a better experience if she at the very least didn't look like she despised the fact that she had to service our table. Maybe I would return here - again, not awful - but it might be an after thought instead of something that jumps to mind. On a good note - the ladies room is ENORMOUS with 4-5 stalls. That in itself is a big + going for the place...
Had a late breakfast at a high top in the bar area. Only one other customer was in this section. Food was ample (eggs, bacon, toast and fruit bowl (not a cup)) and a good value and tasted good as well!
Very nice atmosphere. Large selection of menu items. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely return!
Loved it! Service couldn’t have been better & staff is great!
Nice Ambiance. Food was ok, great but good. I did enjoy the Lobster Ravioli's.
Went there on Saturday night with a friend and love it! Sean was one of the piano players and he was awesome!
We stopped in before a show at MSG. We were in a hurry after being stuck in traffic. They seated us quickly and served quickly as well when we mentioned our rush. We were able to have 3 happy hour beers and 2 great burgers and were out the door in 30 minutes. It was perfect!
After an extensive search I settled on Rattle N Hum for our monthly book club meeting hoping that the reviews of being quiet would hold. And they did. Not only that, our server seated us in the back upon request, was spot on with food recommendations and didn't make us feel the least bit rushed. Lobster ravioli, Turkey BLT, pizza, Thai chili wings, and amazing sweet potato fries were enjoyed. Chances are we'll be back!
Superb food and excellent beer list. Highly recommended.
Our server was awesome!
Great food and service. Convenient location.
Good food, nice beer list which we sampled quite a few. Fantastic playlist for the music. Waitress seemed disinterested
The food runner was awesome, all I can say that was great about the experience
Great dinner with colleagues after a conference over at the Manhattan Center. Food was good, drinks were great and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
Nice ambiance and very good selection of craft beers.
The short: The food and beer selection are very outstanding. Call the restaurant the day-of to confirm everything 100%. They were incredibly accommodating despite the reservation being wonky.
The (slightly) long: The restaurant made a few mistakes regarding the reservation (involving the time of the reservation and quantity of people) but the manager and our waitstaff totally made up for it! We were a group of 15 [aka, a handful] and they sat us as quickly as they could and we not once had to ask for drinks/refills or where our food was. This is definitely a place for beer drinkers/bar food-junkies as there were 50+ craft beers on tap and about 10+ cocktails to choose from. Of our group of 15, no one seemed particularly unsatisfied with their selection - everything seemed great!
Nice spot close to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. It's a beer lover's paradise with one of the most extensive selections you'll find anywhere. Excelent food menu with lots of choices to suit many tastes and moods. I had the Shepherd's Pie and it was very tasty. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back next time I'm in that area.
Great place for business lunch
This was a pre-theater lunch and we arrived early. Although not usually served at noon, the waiter said the cook would be happy to do a brunch meal. The four in my party all ordered breakfast food-two pancakes, one waffle and my omelette. All were really good. They used fresh portabella mushrooms and abundant cheese in my omelette and substituted a sizable fresh fruit cup for the potatoes. Bread was just okay.
I would return for a lunch before a show.
Salmon burgers a great choice for lunch....some side salads not as fresh as desired. Very pleasant service.
