   We waited 2 hours to get our main course. The waiter and then manager apologized by did not make it right nor offered to make it right except to tell us it would be ready in 5 minutes. When the meals eventually arrived, the steak was completely raw, only browned on the exterior. It was not edible. I wished we would have left instead of waiting. Don’t waste your time or money.

   Yesterday we celebrated my daughter's high school graduation. I booked my reservation at Rats months ago because I wanted to ensure she had a "picture perfect" ending to what was a perfect graduation day. The graduation ran long so I called the restaurant to ask if we could push back our reservation to which they graciously agreed. But once we got there, the experience went sour. It took over 2 hours to be served lunch! Despite the nice server and the manager apologizing to us, there was nothing done to rectify the situation. We ended up buying more drinks and didn't even receive bread or an appetizer to appease us. The table next to us complained several times and their meal was comped. I don't like to complain and told my family to wait patiently and just enjoy the view. Considering we hadn't even eaten breakfast because of the graduation morning chaos, we sat there until 3:00 still waiting for our lunch to be served all with grumbling stomachs. Trying to be polite and not cause a scene got us nothing. While the table of 2 had their meal comped, my graduation party of 6 wasn't even offered bread to satiate us. We were starving, our puppy had been left longer than expected, and my daughter was late to her friend's graduation party. It was such a disappointing graduation luncheon after what had been a perfect day. I never write negative reviews but this experience warranted one. So disappointed and we paid over $400 for that luncheon! We skipped dessert as a result. This is not the Rats I remember. I felt so badly for picking this restaurant for my daughter's graduation!

   Our first time dining here and we had high expectations. Was a very disappointing experience overall. Only saving grace was ambiance and the food when it eventually came. Drinks came as hoped Appetizers were slow and entrees took 90 mins and we had to complain to get them. Even then only part came out. Management offered apologies drinks and deserts but not the solution. Waiter did his best and we tipped him directly. Apologies were shallow and more around ‘things happen’. Customer service was not a priority. They said we hope your next experience will be better. We will have to see.

   I’ve been to this restaurant several times in the past and it was always great. This time, not at all. The food was just barely ok. The Caesar salad had shrimp that appeared to be small frozen shrimp. We told the staff ahead of time we were celebrating a anniversary and got nothing. No specials and the service was unfriendly.

   Once again, a wonderful meal at Rats. Maynor gave us excellent service, attentive but never distracting or hurried. The lovely woman at the front desk responded quickly and kindly to a special request for a table that wasn't yet set for service. My friend and I had an experience that can only be described as magical... sitting next to the koi pond where the fish come right up to you, an enormous Blue Heron flying across the pond as if on cue, the friendly mallard that visited each table as if he was the owner of the place checking in on everyone's satisfaction level. It was simply perfect. The food was delicious, as always. If you are coming for the first time, please save room for their house-made sorbet, which is so refreshing and is the perfect light and sweet ending after lunch. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! We will definitely be back.

   we loved the atmosphere of the Dining Room, cozy. The meal was fabulous, have not been in several years but they did not disappoint. Our server was attentive, courteous and informative about their new menu. We will be back

   Enjoyed the dinning experience very much. Would liked to have eaten outside, but despite there being what appeared to be many empty tables, we were not allowed.

   We went to Rat's Restaurant this Sunday, it was a gorgeous day and visit. The restaurant was lovely and cozy. The view was amazing. We enjoyed the time there overall. We were seated on the upper level so it was very quiet and remote from the garden. The food was on a pricier side but the portion was about right. We loved the french onion soup. However, the service wasn't the best. We asked our sever multiple times for different things (extra utensils, straw, water), it was either forgotten or needed a couple of more reminders, and it wasn't even a busy day.

    Beautiful setting for a leisurely lunch when visiting the Grounds. Recommend the rotisserie chicken salad.
