Food took hours to come out and came out cold and not good. Thankfully I had one alcoholic drink that was strong, two glasses of water and some bread was eventually brought out to hold me over. The waitress disappeared for over an hour, we thought she may have left for her shift but eventually saw her again. It was a birthday dinner and I was disappointed after reading such good reviews about this place.

The best part of Rat’s Restaurant is the ambiance and that it is located on Grounds for Sculpture, but after this dining experience, we would not go to Rat’s again. For the most part, the staff seemed unhappy and a bit condescending, which made us uncomfortable. The dessert was not as advertised and was very stale, bland, and overpriced. Rat’s could not stand alone without Grounds for Sculpture.

Hi. I have dined at rats before but I brought friends. We decided to eat there at lunch (not very busy) and again at dinner (very busy and very loud). In the evening we had a great server named Brian who was so great. Both waiters were good but Brian went above and beyond. The duck a l'orange was the best I have ever had.. Kudos to the chef! We shared profiteroles with strawberries with chocolate sauce on the side. Amazing. Thanks for a great time. Negative - the noise level was so loud. We had trouble talking at the table and hearing each other. That was the only negative comment I could make. thanks

This was our first time eating at Rat's. It's a beautiful restaurant, with a lovely setting in Seward Johnson's "Grounds for Sculpture," and whimsical architecture, furnishings and other decor. While the service was excellent and the food was very tasty and well-prepared and presented, the entree menu is somewhat limited, and the entree portions were on the small side (a scallops dish included five medium-sized ones, while a duck dish included two relatively small slices from the breast) and somewhat overpriced. We would recommend Rat's to friends, but with a potential sticker shock warning.

It’s a charming dining experience and partnered beautifully with a day of viewing the amazing artwork on site. I did feel the menu was fine but little uninspired. When we asked for salt and pepper, we were told they couldn’t leave it at the table because they were short and we had to ask for a second piece of bread which seemed a little unreasonable.

Rat's restaurant at Grounds For Sculpture has been a favorite of mine for decades, with its beautiful ambiance, seasonal menu, great food and cocktails and excellent service. I've enjoyed almost all of the entrees on the menu more than once, but this was the first time I ordered the duck, medium rare. It was tender and delicious! Rat's always pleases, never disappoints!

Great place to debrief after an event at the Grounds for Sculpture. The immersion in art continues but with the added bonus of great cocktails and fabulous food.

We ate lunch outside on the patio overlooking the recreation of Monet's gardens at Giverny. Beautiful and serene backdrop to a delicious meal after a morning of walking the must see Grounds for Sculpture.
