Cool place. Food and service was excellant. The sculpture grounds were truly execptional. Cannot wait to go back in the spring.
Very lovely lunch with my friends in a beautiful setting
It’s a beautiful location, and the food was very good.
Rats is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The ambience on this occasion was really outstanding as we were seated in front of the blazing log fire. The service was excellent and we had a leisurely lunch. At no time did we feel rushed and we were so lucky to be able to converse without having to shout!!
A perfect place
To celebrate a special occasion. Our waiter was fantastic. We had a beautiful table
Overlooking the water. The food was delicious. Make sure you a lot extra time to wander around the grounds. Many great photo ops.
The salads were superb. The bread basket for the buffet as well as the lunch bread basket were top notch. The vegetable tart was awful very, very greasy as well as lukewarm. I would never order it again. My carrot and peas desert was excellent. My sister ordered the citrus salad with chicken and the chicken was very dry as if it were precooked and warmed up. My mother’s frittata was very taste. All and all there is too much salt used in their cooking, a little less would make all the food more appetizing.
The food and ambiance are wonderful. Very knowledgeable, friendly staff as well.
Unfortunately, my lovely evening took a turn for the worse upon payment. I had been presented with a gift card for $150 and attempted to use it. Although it was a few years old, there was no expiration date noted on the card. The only warning on the card was that a 'maintenance fee' might be taken after 24 months. I most certainly did not have a problem with that. However, the server returned to inform me that my card had a zero balance. Further discussion with the manager yielded a $75 credit but no real explanation as to how or why I lost $75. I was told they no longer used that type of card and they had no record of it. It was a very frustrating end to an otherwise pleasant night
This was our first time there and overall it was good. However 3 meals came out undercooked and needed to be sent back. The French onio soup was on the sweet side and the desserts were just ok. IMO chocolate cake should not contain beets!!
A beautiful setting, attentive service, & great food. A wonderful experience!
We always have an excellent meal at Rats. I just wished that we lived closer so we could dine there more frequently.
We have dined at Rats quite a few times and have always had a pleasant, memorable meal. This last visit, however, was a bit of a disappointment. The quality of the food was not what we have come to expect, and the service was not quite as professional as we had been used to. It was a little too attentive bordering on intrusive.
I am sad it was such a disappointing experience because Rats was one of my favorite restaurants.
Taste of Rats menu had fewer options than I expected (two for each course instead of three). Salad and dessert were not as remarkable as the entree.
I was expecting a much higher quality brunch than what we got. You do not have a carving station. What you have is overcooked prime rib stewing in its own juices. Eggs benedict that look liked they are carried over from the week before. Over cooked chicken, macaroni and cheese that looks extremely unappetizing.
We were waiting for our server to come over, offer us drinks etc... I finally got up and started on the buffet. I also had to get my own salt and pepper from another table and I kept putting my dirty dishes on the other table as well. I also removed a dirty dish from the top of all the clean ones at the beginning of the buffet. Is anyone there supervising?
I have been hearing how great this restaurant was for years, it definitely wasn't. And if you care and want to see what a great brunch looks like go to the Lambertville Inn. It is less money, your first drink is complimentary and the service is impeccable.
4 of us went for lunch (not brunch) on a Sunday. 1 of us is vegetarian. We had the hummus/olive/eggplant/quinoa appetizer--absolutely fabulous. And trout almondine, tomato veg dish, and potato/leek ravioli with side of asparagus. Fresh bread with chive butter. Everything was flavored perfectly with nice touches of herbs or spices. The trout skin was perfectly crispy, cooked just right! Yum!
Service is usually excellent, but this time our waiter was impersonal, barely attentive and clueless.
Pork Belly was nothing special / texture was odd. Mussels were good. Scallops entree was okay / needed more acidity/blood-orange gastrique. Duck was good. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Peas and Carrots dessert was excellent.
Food wasn’t as good as other times we had dined here.Ryan, our server, was not attentive. Buffet food was not kept filled or clean.
Disappointed in most of the food. Did not like potato puree. Mash potatoes would have been better. No gravy . The only dessert I liked was the chocolate pecan pie.The pumpkin pie was bland. Lemon meringue tarts I did not like the pastry cup. Bitter cranberry sauce. Artichoke dip not much taste.
Not worth the $59.
For the price the food was at best fair and having celebrated TG dinner in the past, the food was poorer then we recall particularly the buffet courses, also we were not in the main restaurant rather in the private function room that had been split into 4 tables
The baked goods were the best part of the meal. The salad was fine, but nothing exciting. The trout almandine was fine but needed more flavor and less frisee. The chocolate cake dessert was cold and tasted like it had been refrigerated for too long. The atmosphere was nice, and I would give it another try on a nice, sunny day to sit outside and enjoy the view.
The service was not attentive and the meat temperature at the serving was not to standard.
Excellent cocktails, interesting food, great ambience. Something new!
Overall a lovely experience! Food was wonderful, cocktails were fun and delicious and the grounds were very unique. Great for a romantic date.
I live close, but I often forget about how delicious this restaurant is. It was fantastic to bring people from out of town for a unique dining experience in a very cool atmosphere.
Fantastic food, fantastic service, overall great!
We were greeted with a smile and promptly seated directly in front of a beautiful fireplace with a roaring flame.
Service was great and curteous totally enjoyed everything we ate from oysters to strip steak which was sooo tender and we look forward to returning.
We have been to Rats on several dinner dates as well.
Gorgeous setting. Delicious food! French onion soup was wonderful. Apple dessert was heavenly!
We live about 45 minutes away from Rats and love to stop in for a meal when visiting the Grounds for Sculpture. We had toured the Atelier (which was amazing in itself), and finished our evening with dinner at Rats. It made for an unforgettable day. Service was very attentive and while the room was crowded, the noise level was at a minimum. Food was amazing, which keeps bringing us back. For lunch, happy hour, Sunday brunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed with a meal at Rats.
Great food , neat location ! The duck was outstanding .
Convenient location near Hamilton,NJ train station and short ride from Bucks County, PA. Beautiful ambiance, great Happy Hour 5 -7 pm, $5 glass wine and inexpensive food specials. Dinner is a fabulous, relaxing, enjoyable experience.
Start with cheese sample tray, any entree will be worth a taste of each at the table. Make sure you save for dessert, especially quince sorbet or flourless chocolate cake. ALL Staff are so welcoming, knowledgable, and pleased to be there for YOU! This was second visit to take out of towner since first time was incredible.
While the food was good, the service was slow and we felt the waitress was indifferent to us, serving others who were seated after us, first and slow to respond.
We sat in the wine room - it was pretty but chilly with the glass fronted wine coolers on all sides of the room. We even asked if it was warm before they sat us as my friend was feeling very cold, and the waitress assured us the room had no doors and was warm! It was not and it did have doors, but it was wine coolers that made it chilly.
I had the tasting menu which was mediocre, except for the duck breast. Others' entrees were good. Had to ask four times for popovers, which finally arrived-cold.
Was not the best dining experience I have had at Rats. Our server did her best, but the restaurant needs more servers. Our service was very slow-and it was not the fault of our server. Also, we were told we would have two servers, but second one never appeared. Even with our members discount, was not worth the cost.
Wonderful atmosphere. Verde Salad was inedible, it was full of parsley; that was all you could taste. Striped bass was fabulous, but extremely small portion.
This place is fantastic! Amazing food and ambience.
We enjoyed an evening of great conversation in a romantic setting. The food was wonderfully prepared. Service was good and the wine selection wonderful. We have been here many times and plan to return for future events, happy hours, and lunch with friends.
Service, appetizers and entrees, ambiance were fantastic. Desserts left alot to be desired
We loved Ken! He brought us a special treat for our anniversary!
Was disappointed on our 24th anniversary. Made reservation 3 days prior and specified it was our 24th Anniversary. They had limited LUNCH menu for our anniversary dinner and they should have told me that someone-where on their home site when I made my reservation.
Was seated next to a loud table 12. The other sever must of hit my seat 5 times. Our server was great but there were no specials and a very limited menu. Nice place, but not a real good for an Anniversary dinner on a Sunday.
When I called to make the reservation I asked about touring the grounds. I was never told there was a cost even though we had a dinner reservation. I also was never told that touring the grounds took hours.
The dinner food quality was poor. The trout was soggy and the sauce overpowered thecish and was too sweet. The chicken was rubbery and too think to me truly tasty like a Milanese. The side of vegetable (bok choy) was sparse and watery.
We were extremely disappointed in the food quality and presentation. The service was good and the table was nice (except for the screaming toddlers running around our table).
This was my husband’s birthday with all our children there. It was good to be in such a beautiful space, however the food quality did not match up. All of us felt the same.
Been there before. I nice place to go. We went on Sunday, we were going to have an early dinner at 3:00 but they only serve lunch. Portions are small but we just purchased nice sides. Can be paleo friendly as that is how my wife and I eat. Not amazing but good.
