We had a very special Father's Day at RATS. Our server was wonderful and the ambiance can't be beat.

Our experience at Rats was sub par. The service was great, atmosphere was great being able to look outside from our table to see the bridge and lily pad pond. The food is where things fall short. The price per dish vs the quality and amount of food offered was less than appealing . The table had two French dip entrees , one burger , and one chicken and waffles. The burger and chicken were said to be fine . The two French Dips lacked what they were described as. The Roast beef was cut much too thick and over cooked when reheated/cooked. The meet was tuff for being roast beef. The au jus was nothing more than French onion soup( which when eaten as soup for an appetizer , was decent). The meals did not live up to expectations . Have had better French dip at Arbees sadly. Dessert , key lime cheese cake…. Square… rectangle maybe. Not a slice , not key lime and grossly overpriced . $17 for two bites? Second dessert the panna cotta. Again two bites worth with a “ strawberry rhubarb “ that seemed more like strawberry jam. Pistachios were stale if such a thing can be accomplished . Over all a 2/5 . Sorry but when you expect a French style cuisine that comes in below average , honest ratings rate. And before one says “ why didn’t you send things back? “ because the food was palatable and edible . Just expected more for the cost put on each dish .

This place is undeniably beautiful and the overall feel gives off quaint countryside. The service was impeccable. Shout-out to Ben who was funny and went above and beyond!! Unfortunately the food leaves much to be desired. We ordered the French onion soup (it was not even good, just ok) and my fiancé ordered the French dip sandwich for his main course. The meat was dry and the bread was soaked in horseradish aioli and also what was supposed to be au jus was just gravy.

I made my reservation almost 2 weeks in advance and explained that I was traveling from Maryland to celebrate my aunt’s 85th birthday and her 62nd wedding anniversary. I sent reminders to the restaurant to ensure the experience was memorable for my aunt. From the moment we arrived the waiter assigned to our table was rude dismissive and was rushing us. They’re literally with no one in the restaurant, but he was ready to bring out appetizers and our meal to get us out of there as quickly as possible. There was no explanation as to why, since he had never met us, and we had never met him. I immediately notified the manager. She assigned a new waiter, but he was only slightly better. The food was very expensive but minimal. We all had to go out to eat after the meal because we were all hungry. The only thing positive was it is a beautiful facility. In the future, my plans are to eat at Cracker Barrel off of exit 5 and then just tour your facility. Going to the restaurant is worthless. For the price people pay, the wait staff are worse than a McDonald’s. i’m curious if the owner of the facility is fully aware of how arrogant and lazy the staff come across. I would be happy to discuss further.

I’d heard so many good things about this restaurant. It was totally average food and service—I’d say below average for this price point. Grounds for Sculpture was absolutely gorgeous though!
