German Potato Salad
Birthday for my daughter
We had Jen as our waitress and she was amazing! We will definitely be back to see her!
Food was good and the swervice from the waitress was beyond expectations
Great Food! Our server was very attentive and pleasant.
The food is fantastic, make room for the bread pudding.
Generous portions of meals were served. From the appetizer selection, the chick && jalapeño poppers were delicious and so were the sauerkraut meatballs. The entrees were very tasty.
Good German food and atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who likes German food.
Delightful experience from start to finish. We had a few late RSVPs, and the hostess was more than happy to accommodate us without any hassle. Nearby parking was easily found by everyone in our party, despite Mass Ave’s closure to traffic and parking. The food was excellent, competing for Indy’s best in several categories, but at a very reasonable price during Devour Downtown.
We frequently dine at the Rathskeller and are never disappointed in the food or the service. It's one of our favorite places to have celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or just get together with friends.
Went for a Saturday night dinner during restaurant week. The three course meal was good and plenty of food There was a band in the beer garden and it looked quite crowded. According to my wife drunken young women were in the ladies room and it was completely trashed. It seems that they need to decide, nice restaurant with controlled beer garden or party time bar. I will be a lot more selective on future visits.
Good service. Staff is pleasant. Good food. Nice ambience. Parking is easy to find. Always fun.
The service and food was great. I will certainly recommend for gathering with friends or date night.
Great service and help with many German dishes. We had to return an overcooked steak and replace another entree, but overall we had a pleasant experience on a Saturday.
Noisy fun atmosphere, great beer and drink options.
The waitress was great .She told us what the most requested dishes were. She warned us about hot pretzel sauce.
The people are pleasant and helpful. The food is good but priced on the high-end side. The atmosphere is large spaced and is worthwhile to see a by-gone era still in action.
One of my favorite Indy dining experiences. The food is authentic and delicious, the service is always outstanding (attentive and engaging, but not overbearing), and the atmosphere is delightful.
Excellent service and attention. Scampi, Reuben were delicious. Best French onion soup ever.
great find in indy . we dined in the biergarten and they have live music nightly.
Great experience!!! The wurst plate was amazing and our waitress was great!
Good selection of beers and wines. Food and service were good. Very quiet when we went but it was early dinner.
Great place with good service and good food. Black Forest cake was delicious.
Great decor and ambience. A little pricey but you get a LOT of food, big portions!! Overall a really great restaurant with a super helpful staff!!
The food, beer, service, and atmosphere was great. Large portions of food and genuine German food.
Incredible food, the service was fantastic we loved the whole experience and can't wait to go back again.
This is a great place, absolutely a must visit when in Indy.
The food was delicious as always. The black forest cake was just okay.
Good German food beginning with a big pretzel! Other options available but choose the German options. Due to coronavirus precautions we were the only ones in the dining room until another couple came. We were treated so well and everything was clean.
Rathskeller never disappoints! From the warm pretzels with spicy mustard to the delicious and ample portions and the friendly, capable staff! Thanks for another great meal — and leftovers!!
Excellent service and excellent social distancing measures. Thanks for helping us celebrate Father’s Day at his favorite restaurant!
I grew up with German/Austrian food and was excited to have a meal which reminded me of my grandmother’s kitchen. Unfortunately, this was far from it. I could see the attempt to imitate the Germanic kitchen and I applaud the attempt. However it did fall short. To speak to this, our server informed us that the Black Forest Cake (one of the typical desserts of southern Germany) was purchased from another restaurant because their kitchen couldn’t make it as good as the place from which it was purchased. If you want some decent German beers and wines in a nice outdoor environment, I’d highly recommend. If you want a little more authentic food, I’d consider dining elsewhere.
During this time of Re-Opening, we felt safe with the procedures set into place for our health and well-being. The food was as fabulous as always!
Great schnitzels, and the Rathskeller's Amber beer was enjoyable.
The mustard was nose-tingling good!!
We had wonderful service. My schnitzel was a little dry. Could have been what I ordered. The prices were a little steep but you did get bread and soup or salad and two sides with an entree. One of the beers that someone in our party got was $12.50. He said it was good. We had a nice time celebrating Birthdays!
Reservations work out great when you have to catch a show. My husband and I were visiting Indianapolis. The service was good. The food was okay. My husband and I should have taken the option to share a plate. There is a charge, but it is a nice option.
We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to return again.
Made it a little more difficult to find a parking spot since the parking lot next to the Anthenaeum closed. Leave extra time for parking.
The food was good. The beer selection was excellent. However, our waiter was the best. He handled our table of 8 like a pro.
Menu diversity and meal preparation were excellent. Our server Jennifer was delightful and efficient. Nice to find a restaurant with great food, fantastic service, low noise level and pleasant ambiance.
