Raso's Bar and Grille Ratings and Reviews
Quick service, good value, had blacken salmon with spinach and green beans. Salmon was moist and vegetables were crunchy (not over cooked). Husband had fruitti de mare, nothing special but was quite tasty. Services was Matt and he was pleasant, not over baring, well mannered and made us feel welcomed and not rushed. If I had to rate our server I would give him I will definitely go back. Hopefully the renovations will be finished.
The food was yummy but a little overpriced for the ambiance. Not very well maintained dining room and a bit dirty. Location kind of strange and you can't see the outside from the main dining room. The service was good, but honestly the busser/food runner was more attentive to our table than the waiter.
I would go back because the food was good. But maybe sit at the high top bar tables where it's possible to see outside. (Route 38- but at least a view)
We tried Raso's based on the Open Table reviews and its proximity to my son's apartment in Medford. We had a 7PM reservation on a Saturday night and there was no problem getting seated. The bar which is in the front was lively with a large screen TV and many people eating at the bar. The restaurant is very casual but it has a contemporary feel to it.
Upon being seated we were served some nice Italian bread and oil and ordered drinks. Our waiter who was very nice was a little awkward with his timing being a bit too quick with trying to take our order and a little slow when it came to attentiveness. He was also unable to make any real recommendations about the menu or wine choices. That was a bit disappointing since it was our first visit.
We ordered the Veal Francese, Pasta Bolognese and the Chicken and Broccoli. For all dishes the portions were large but we all felt the seasoning was fairly flat and could have used a bit more spice.
Overall, I think this could be a very nice neighborhood restaurant. It's got a nice feel to it, the meals look great but just need a little more flavor and the bar could be a fun place to eat and watch the game.
I came to Raso's with a group of 10 to celebrate my boss's retirement because it is her favorite place. I can see why! The food was amazing as well as the service. We had a few picky eaters and they accommodated all requests. I would definitely recommend Raso's to anyone!
Honestly very confused and puzzled at the good or okay ratings on here and Yelp.... Food: Antipasti was dry with no dressing and greens were wilting, I get chicken parm everywhere and always enjoy it but the chicken parm was extremely disappointing (better at the 99 and it's only $10 there!) I had to stop eating it just wasn't good. Ambiance: it was FREEZING. They blasted the ac and its an issues when my sister said you can feel my goosebumps through my sweater. It was also extremely dark. Service: was okay. Our waiter was nice but came over for our order, the check, never a drink refill, and didn't see him again. Maybe it was a bad day for them? I won't be back to give it a second chance.
The value of food to price was not worth it. The portions are very small for the price paid.
The service was very slow. The waiter kept apologizing saying the kitchen was busy (when he did pass our table).
When we finally got food it was just okay. The portions were small and not very hot. The booths
were small and our party of four was very cramped.
The restaurant was quite busy as expected on a Friday night, so I am relieved that I made a reservation. Our server was very friendly and helpful, offering some of her favorite menu items. We got chicken parmesan arancini as an appetizer and they were delicious. For dinner, the chicken parmesan was okay- the sauce was pretty bland however the Mafalda Bolognese was very flavorful. We will be back again to try other menu items and their martinis!
We were not pleased. The service was poor and my meal was terrible. I ordered chicken saltimbocca. There was only one piece of chicken and it was rubbery. I sent it back, it was taken off our bill, but the manager or chef did not even come out and speak to me. This is the second time we were not happy with Rasos. Something has changed, because Rasos used to be one of our regular places to eat.
Raso's is a place where you can get good food at a reasonable price, There is a relatively small bar area that also has some tables. This area like most bars, can get loud. There is an outdoor seating area combined with booths and table seating inside. Service was good, My wife had a seafood combo which she loved. I had steaks tips which were great. They also have pizza. Small parking area which means looking on street for parking during busy nights. Not much of a view since it's a commercial area. Bust this friendly atmosphere and good food are reliable for a good night out.
