Rasoi is the next generation in the Aslam family’s vision to delight the Bay Area with their unique, award-winning Northern Indian and Pakistani cuisine. Sprung from master chef Mohammed Aslam’s widely celebrated flagship restaurant Aslam’s Rasoi in San Francisco’s Mission District, this creative collaboration by Mr. Aslam’s sons integrates the much beloved family-friendly Rasoi (Kitchen) concept into a contemporary restaurant and chill lounge setting on the peninsula. Executive Chef Asif Aslam performs magic in the kitchen by putting his own signature on a well-curated staple of mouth-watering family recipes. Drawing from his diverse experiences at his dad’s restaurant and as personal chef for a host of distinguished Bay Area personalities, one of the region’s most talented young restaurateurs enjoys nothing more than to enhance his culinary genes with the kinds of subtle accents known to elicit spontaneous “oohs.”

Rasoi Ratings and Reviews
We live in Burlingame and have come to Rasoi about a half-dozen times now. It’s one of the first Indian restaurants that has been successful in Burlingame for a while and rightly so. The food is delicious high-er end Indian with a chef owner who takes pride in his food. Strongly suggest it. A little pricey but nothing out of the ordinary for Burlingame. Fun for groups and great bar / happy hour
There is nothing 'not to like' about this place. It's a gem on Burlingame Avenue. Reasonable prices for outstanding Indian food. Beautiful place. Attentive waitstaff. Only negative was that the bartender failed twice to make a dirty martini, which was a disappointment for the birthday girl in our party.
I am not normally a fan of Indian food, but our grandsons enjoy eating it so we decided to take them there while visiting us. There were great options that were not spicy for me, but my husband and the boys enjoyed theirs. They give you the options of 1 - 5 level of how spicy you want your dish. The boys got a 2 and my husband got a 5. Everyone enjoyed their meals. It's convenient for us because it's on the avenue. We will definitely be back!
Rasoi still has some of the same problems from their opening. They are consistently understaffed and slow to bring out everything.
However the food is always excellent. That's what brings me back for the punishment of consistent abuse from the staff. This time it was a reservation for 7pm that we were late to by 5 minutes. I called ahead to let them know we would be a couple minutes late (multiple times) but no one answered the phone.
We sat down at 725, and didn't see our first food until 750. (50 minutes after our reserved time) What's the point of having reservations at all? No acknowledgement or accommodation from the manager/owner? I see him there every time and he was rude and did nothing for the miss. I honestly expect the slow service but with a reservation I expect more. Free drinks or rushed appetizers, something.
Visit for the food but be prepared for a LOOOOOOOONG wait and mediocre service.
Great food, very juicy, favorable mixed tandoori, absolutely amazing! Fresh chunks of fish, juicy chicken breast, prawns cooked just right, and lamb which I switched for more chicken (I don't eat lamb) their curry dishes were really good also.
All the servers were very friendly with giant smiles! The restaurant has modern decor and a bar.....
There are only a few really good Indian restaurant in the Bay Area and Rasoi is one of them. The naan at Rasoi is second to none. They are so good that I sometime eat them as an appetizer. The Tandoori Chicken here is perfectly seasoned and always cooked to perfection. It is always moist and never overcooked. I usually do not order chicken biryani because the chicken inside the rice are usually too dry. This time I took a chance and ordered it at Rasoi and their chicken biryani came out perfect. It had the right amount of seasoning and the chicken pieces were moist and tender. I have tried other dishes at Rasoi, they were all good but not exceptional enough for me to write about.
The restaurant was not very crowded, yet service was quite spotty. The menu is complicated but the servers were not able to provide much guidance. The food was good. THere was no background music so it was awkwardly silent in the restaurant. It appears that they do a lot of take-out as the front podium was hopping and the staff were concentrating there. In all, the meal and experience was average.
The lamb chops were chewy and lacked flavor. The serving containers are wide and it seems the food cools down too fast. The chicken thika masala was too creamy, and it seemed the sauce came out of a can. It lacked true flavor. Overall nothing really over the top, okay just to go have some Indian food. If I was in the area I'd go, and avoid the the drive.
Excellent Indian menu. Love the mixed tandoori grill, the lamb masala, yummy curry sauces, spinach and cheese veges side dish, and great naan bread. Just all around delicious fresh food!
Staff are always a pleasure!!
Don't miss out!
Enjoy!!! I will definitely be back!!!!
The food choices and food was okay. Service was okay. It was a decent experience overall and was not even underwhelming but certainly nothing to drive from San Jose to Millbrae. Vedas in Milpitas which seems to be the most comparable in my mind is way better!
Yum! This Indian food place was just terrific. I loved the layout of the restaurant -- nice tables, plenty of room so you're not on top of each other, a nice bar to wait at, had the Warriors game on but only one large TV, not lots everywhere. But...the FOOD... was really good. From the naan to the butter chicken to samosas and the Indian beer ON TAP and then some, we were very happy. Wish it was closer to home but I would definitely go again.
I've been eating Pakistani and Indian cuisine my entire adult life. (45 years!) It is by far my absolutely favorite food. I've eaten Indian /Pakistani food all over the world.... This is 100% the Best Restaurant I've had Indian/Pakistani food. My wife is originally from Afghanistan and her mother is from Pakistan! And She says it's the best food of her life long tradition she's ever had, other than her mom's cooking!!!! The Chef/Owner is a brilliant young creator with skills I've never seen, even compared to New York's and London's best world class Pakistani and Indian cuisine chefs. Visit as soon as you can... it's an incredible fine food experience! Craig & Samra
I always enjoy coming to Rasoi since they have nice dishes especially butter chicken and saag paneer. However, the service is very slow and sometimes they look like they ignore you and you wait for a long time to get attention from the waiter. I booked the table at 7.45 for 7 and my group was not seated until 8.30. Wondering why bother to book it. Also, we had to wait long time for the appetizers, drinks, or the main meal. We had to remind and ask multiple times about our orders. In return, I asked if there is at least any way or possibility we could get a dessert on the house to compensate for all the disappointing experience. We received very tiny order of ice cream that we shared among 7 people. Overall, food great, but unfortunately the service can be much better. I have been coming to this place for a long time and hoping each time for better experience.
