Service a bit spotty but food was excellent. All four of us would return.
I love the food at Rasoi, the dal(s), the mixed tandoori plate, the lamb biryani (on another trip), mango lassi'-s are all super tasty. I like their cocktails, too.
Amazing flavors..clean preparation..friendly service..great value
great food but they have got to get it together with the amount of time it takes to serve. we waited for almost an hour. the servers are nice tho.
When restaurant gets busy the service collapses
Going back and bringing the family this time! Well worth the drive from Livermore Ca.
This was the best Indian food I have had in the Bay Area. Wow the Tandoori chicken was amazing. My wife said that she would get that dish every single time we ate there, without fail. I also had the chicken korma which was super tasty and went really well with their basmati rice. Highly recommend this place.
Very poor service. Delayed food. They don’t come to give you water. At one point in time, there was zero people in the whole front area for over 10 minutes.
I really like tanduri chicken. They cook it very good. Last saturday night I wanted to have calamari with a beer for starter. But all dishes came at the same time. That’s was still ok. Because they were apologized and they didn’t charge calamari. I’m writing this review if they will approve their services to be on the time. Everything will be 5 star. Thank you again your delicious food.
the food is always fantastic but they were pretty short staffed, although friendly and accommodating when they did get to us after 20 minutes of sitting at the table.
Another great curry at Rasoi - keep it up 😀
Great experience. Party nearby was loud but overall a good food experience
The food was great. Every bite gone when we were done. Recommend the Began Bhartha (eggplant), Mixed Tandori Grill, Dal, Vegetable Biyani. Delicious.
We usually eat at the restaurant in SF but happened to be in BURLINGAME. So glad we went. DELICIOUS!! Can’t wait to go back.
Poor service and food was Ok. Not even refilling water.
Great tasting food. Portion size is not huge but is adequate.
I really liked their lamb entree and samosas. My only complaint is that the vegetarian option we tried - sautéed veggies - had a sweet taste because of added sugar.
Great food for sure, all the items that we ordered were prepared very well.
Service can be better, as you will have to wave server down to get their attention, from their they will act quickly with nice attitude, overall service is more reactive than proactive.
Noice levels do need improvement, it’s not the sounds from music, servers, guests, people eating and talking, it’s the sounds from busser throwing flatware in bins or when they are polishing the metalware. Also when they are talking between themselves. It was loud and annoying.
Will surely suggest and visit again with friends and family.
Frequent this restaurant for Indian food with family and friends.
The cocktail was delicious as well as dessert. The entree was OK except for before ordering I asked the waitress to remove one of the ingredients I don't eat or let me know if that's impossible so I could order something else. She assured me that it was possible but the dish served had a lot of that ingredient, it was quite disappointing.
While our servers were very nice, they completely forgot to bring our drinks until our dinner was complete, despite our asking multiple times for them to bring them. The restaurant provided a dessert in apology, but the dinner’s vibe and flow was disturbed.
Food is superb. Service can be hit or miss...always friendly but can disappear for long stretches.
Food was great. They were just out of a lot of dishes.
This naan in this restaurant is the best in the Bay Area. They also have excellent tandoori chicken and lamb chops.
The restaurant is designed as one big long room directly from the front door that you open. The night we went, the front glass doors would swing open and get stuck and let lots of cold air shoot into the room. The wait staff didn't go and close it unless me or another person asked them when we got tired of it. Our waiter was meek and we couldn't hear him mumble anything. We asked about what beer they had on draft and he didn't know and left for a bit. Not a place that I would recommend to anyone.
Really surprised at the overall experience, good food and ambiance
As always, the food was excellent. We had some folks in from out of town and they were able to lower the spice level appropriately. Unfortunately, the service was not very good this time. Wrong beverages served, we had to order twice, and they missed one of the dishes until we were ready to leave. Overall, good food, mediocre service. Price is a bit high for Indian food, but it's Burlingame, no bargains there...
We were told as soon as we got there that there would be a long wait for the food (30+ minutes), so I appreciated the honesty. The food was good when it came out. My only issue was that we were seated near the front of the restaurant and the front door was constantly left open by leaving guests - creating a cold draft. I asked the water guy to close it several times but he would only punt the request to our server who was busy. So we ended up getting up and closing it ourselves- repeatedly. It made for a frustrating dinner in that regard .
We had a very nice meal -- good food, good service -- at Rasoi and will definitely go back. As a vegetarian, I had lots of wonderful choices; but my sister, who is vegan, was a bit more limited. It would be nice if more of the vegetarian dishes could be converted over to vegan.
Rasoi is simply amazing. I went in for a business dinner and was beyond satisfied. Being a south-asian, I've had my fair share of exquisite dining in Pakistani, Indian, and Bangladeshi restaurants. Rasoi was hands-down the absolute best food I've ever had. The chutney was amazing, it tasted heavenly. The garlic naan bread mixed with the seekh kabab. The chef himself extended their amazing hospitality and sent me a couple dishes to try and of course, it was perfection. I'll definitely be returning to Rasoi when I visit San Francisco from now on.
Didn't need a reservation when we first started to go here (Rasoi) but suggest you get one if going after 6p.
The Pomegranate martini (per Vikram) is the best esp w/ chicken or cauliflower pakoras followed thereafter by numerous authentic and wonderful dishes.
I’ve been to this restaurant many times and generally it is very good. However, I went for dinner on Sunday and it took 20 minutes to bring water and the server was rarely seen during our meal. Making matters worse they didn’t have much of the food we wanted to order including fish and even the rice. Sad where this restaurant may be going.
This is a great restaurant and it doesn’t break the bank ! I highly recommend the lamb chops, chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. It’s all very good.
Amazing food and great service !
Rasoi is a great traditional Indian restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is always good and attentive. A bit noisy but wonderful food.
Excellent food and service!!
We enjoyed the food and and location. The staff was very friendly. However, it was very loud and we could hardly hear ourselves speak. But of even more concern was that we went there for a Saturday evening out with friends. We ordered cocktails and were immediately asked to order food, which came within a couple of minutes of us ordering it and within a sip or two of our starting our cocktails. We were completely finished with our meal within 40 minutes of arriving at the restaurant. We felt very rushed. This was not meant to be a fast food experience, nor did the prices reflect this. Very disappointing.
Perfect for the combination veggie and meat eaters! Delicious - thank you!
They were short on staff and service wasn’t very good. Food comes out sizzling from the kitchen and all the tables on the way get lots of smoke each time. Food was ok, not great.
