We always like the chef specials. We went on February 15th and were offered the special Valentine's Day desert - a heart-shaped GREAT (better than a) chocolate brownie with a strawberry garnish and whipped cream. It was a wonderful meal.

The Valentine's Day menu was excellent. The service as always was superb. We had steak and lobster and it was cooked to perfection. Truly a great place for a great dinner.

It’s a beautiful restaurant with an Irish feel. The bar has live music on some nights which is soft and lovely. We went for Valentine’s Day and noticed they have a great happy hour and bar specials. I’ll definitly be back. My lobster was huge and delicious! Great overall experience.

Rapscallion is a restaurant we used to frequent, but haven't in several years. This was Valentine's Day and they offered a great selection, something for everyone. The only draw back was the back room we were seated in, not very romantic or cozy. I had requested a cabin table, but nothing was mentioned when we checked in. It would have been nice if they acknowledged the request and apologized for not being able to fulfill my request. Reservations were made with Open Table, if they don't read the special requests, they shouldn't ask for them.
The food is still excellent and the service was good and very attentive.
We will remember our experience the next time we have a date night.

I found the service to be prompt and timely. We were charged for an item we didn’t order, but once brought to the waitress’ attention, was unquestioningly removed. The food was , as usual, very good.

We live in Sparks and we made the drive based upon reviews to celebrate Valentine's Day early. We were seated in the perfect private booth. The stuffed Monkfish was delicious. Nice presentation and great service. Parking is tight.

Family dinner and this place was recommended. The appetizers were excellent. Diablos on Horseback were great. Oysters on the half shell were served perfectly. Then it went a little downhill. Cesar salad I had was fine. Fresh Greens salad and beet salad were just ok. Wife had the trio for her entree and the shrimp were overcooked. Salmon was very good, but the halibut was just ok. I had the bone in Ribeye which was good until I tasted the butter that was put on top. It ruined the rest of the steak. It had a weird flavor that was either spoiled butter, or just something mixed wrong. That should have been left off. Sauteed Mushrooms had the same weird flavor. Crab leg on the side was good though.

We have made Rapscallion our go to place for years. This visit was no different. Our usual waiter Tui was excellent. This was our 45th anniversary and we were treated with outstanding care by all staff that we had contact with. We already have another reservation in 2 weeks for visit from a family member.

I have enjoyed this restaurant for decades. The service was great and the appetizers
were very good. The big disappointment came with the entrée. The sand dabs used to be very lightly battered and were delicate. The new recipe was much to heavy for such a light fish. Panko bread crumbs do not work with this dish. The horseradish encrusted halibut was prepared as I remembered it but was overcooked and dry. This establishment used to be open for lunch and I'm sorry it no longer is. The Sunday brunch also used to be a favorite. Unless the old recipes are brought back I'm afraid I'll be looking for another fine dining location.

I found the onion soup too salty for my taste, and the swordfish was salty also. Thank goodness for the lemon, that helped. Your bathroom floor was sticky and that bothered me.

I have been to Rapscallion a few times in the past, however I wanted to take my wife here for her Birthday. We ordered the special Monk Fish and it was less than par, as it was dry and rubbery.
This is the first time I had a bad experience with the food for the entree. The appetizers were great and service was great, just do not feel we got our money's worth with the entree.

Surf & Turf was great but filet was really small like 3 oz. Over all Tui our waiter was fantastic.
The Bartender had to ask me what went into a Gold Cadillac (Galliano, Creme de Cocoa, & Cream) but she used Godiva chocolate liquor which made it taste different, on top of being unfriendly and being an unqualified bartender for such a high class place. All in all great place for a special occasion.

Third time my wife and I have been to this restaurant and always great. Mostly locals maybe that's why they've been around for 40 years. I had surf and turf (so good) and the wife had lingerie and clams that were perfect. Whenever we come through Reno we stop.

Food and service were excellent! Some of the fellow diners in the area we were seated were very loud, it was NY eve and they had had a lot to drink but we over looked it and enjoyed our dinner out.

Awesome dinning experience from start to finish. Hostess was friendly and seated us upon arrival. Our waiter greeted us and took our drink order quickly. The Greygoose martinis were perfect. He answered our questions regarding the menu for the New Year's Eve dinner. I ordered the seared day boat scallops and they were so fresh and tender. My girl had the salmon and it was fresh and cooked perfectly. The side dishes complemented the plates.
There is so much more on the menu that I want to try so we'll be back. Compliments to the Chef and all the staff.

The food and service were very good. Had the seabass daily special with polenta. My wife had the pork platter. Everything tastes great. My main complaint was that the portions were very small. The entree comes with a single side, which in my case was three small triangles of polenta. Overall id say the portion is about half of what you would expect for the price. Fortunately we saw the portion sizes while we were waiting and orderer a margherita pizza as an appetizer otherwise we would have left hungry.

The other conplaint was that the pork platter my wife ordered was supposed to consist of pork loin, tenderloin, bacon and sausage. Apparently they ran out of sausage and replaced it with pulled pork but there was no mention or warning about this from the staff.

I have enjoyed fine meals at Rapscallion several times over the past couple of years, but my December 29, 2017 experience yielded the single worst fish preparation of which I can remember. I had the Horseradish Encrusted Halibut which was dry, chunky (not flaky) and totally lacking in flavor. The bed of mashed potatoes was anything but soft and creamy, as it broke into large chunks when approached by my fork. It resembled a leftover from three days prior. There was absolutely no hint of horseradish flavor anywhere to be found. One of my dining companions also had a bad preparation, but we chose to spend the evening's conversation on more pleasant subjects. Will never return.
