Rapscallion was remodeled inside awhile back. I love the new look. Very fine dining ambiance. The service was wonderful as always and the food was very good. Can't wait to go back for some oysters which were very fresh!
Our server Tui was very attentive and our dining experience for my wife's 60th birthday was outstanding. It was nice that she received a complimentary birthday desert.... Thanks!
Always a great experience. Like being in San Francisco without the crowds and traffic!
We really like going there! We will go back for sure, especially if friends from out of town vivit
The menu is amazing, it offers a variety of options to include an awesome appetizer selection, main courses and of course desert. I had two, yes, two Lemon Drops just because it was one of the best I have had. I also ordered the lobster, which came with mixed vegetables and rice. The lobster was AMAZING!! The prices are reasonable for sure! LOVE this restaurant!!
We used to enjoy going to Rapscallion's on occasion, but after this last experience, I don't think I'll go back again. They seem to have taken out some of the beautiful old wood from the booths, that gave R its charm, and replaced it with unattractive glass. So my main complaint is that the ambiance has changed for the worse. There was also a giant tv on the wall, which I'd expect to find in a casino or sports bar, but not at a nicer dining location - so another blow to the previously pleasant ambiance. The food has never been outstanding, but this time I found it especially lackluster, particularly given the price. For example, we were very surprised to have our creme brulee served cold. The service, on the other hand, was excellent.
Made reservations here for a much needed date night with my husband and they did not disappoint. From the time we made the reservation to the time we left for the evening, we were very impressed. To start the evening the hostess was extremely personable and walked us to our very private booth. The menu was pretty extensive, making it quite hard to make a decision, because it all sounded so good. However, finally deciding on the ahi poke for a starter, which was wonderful, followed by each of us enjoying the beet salad , again wonderful, then for dinner I decided on the coconut salmon and my husband decided on the shrimp scampi, booth dishes bursting with flavor. We ended the evening with a flourless chocolate cake which I couldn’t get enough of, omg don’t pass that up. Our waitress Andee, was I extremely attentive and knowledgeable about all Rabscallion had to offer. This place is definitely not one to miss. We will definitely return.
We're becoming Rapscallion Regulars! From appetizers to dessert everything is well prepared and delicious. The service is friendly, attentive, and professional.
We felt like the Hostess was uninterested in us sorta a casual ignoring attitude. We were seated in the isle and directly next to the next table even though there were only a few families eating at the time. Would have been nice to spread everyone out a bit since its really small anyway. At the end we needed to change to provide a nice tip since our server was the best part of the meal. The bartender was less than thrilled to help would not make eye contact. Food was good just not worth 110.00 for two. Honestly, for me the restaurant is cramped and lacks privacy, but that just a personal preference of mine.
We’ve been here many times. Always good. Waiter forgot to enter our order. Food never came. They ended up paying for whole meal. Frustrating but right thing to do. We know it’s good so we’ll be back
Great menu and very good food. This is a great culinary stop along the way. I highly recommend it if you would like a good meal.
The only reason that I did not give 5 stars to food was that the swordfish was a bit overcooked and dry. Otherwise, everything was excellent! Will return to this gem!
We always like the chef specials. We went on February 15th and were offered the special Valentine's Day desert - a heart-shaped GREAT (better than a) chocolate brownie with a strawberry garnish and whipped cream. It was a wonderful meal.
The Valentine's Day menu was excellent. The service as always was superb. We had steak and lobster and it was cooked to perfection. Truly a great place for a great dinner.
It’s a beautiful restaurant with an Irish feel. The bar has live music on some nights which is soft and lovely. We went for Valentine’s Day and noticed they have a great happy hour and bar specials. I’ll definitly be back. My lobster was huge and delicious! Great overall experience.
Rapscallion is a restaurant we used to frequent, but haven't in several years. This was Valentine's Day and they offered a great selection, something for everyone. The only draw back was the back room we were seated in, not very romantic or cozy. I had requested a cabin table, but nothing was mentioned when we checked in. It would have been nice if they acknowledged the request and apologized for not being able to fulfill my request. Reservations were made with Open Table, if they don't read the special requests, they shouldn't ask for them.
The food is still excellent and the service was good and very attentive.
We will remember our experience the next time we have a date night.
Sat in the front room with the beautiful scrolling artwork, simply amazing! Great complement to a warm and inviting environment...nice touch!
I found the service to be prompt and timely. We were charged for an item we didn’t order, but once brought to the waitress’ attention, was unquestioningly removed. The food was , as usual, very good.
Awesome place. We love the food and the service is outstanding.
Great Service outstanding food! Dot on every time the food is always excellent and the service is always amazing. If your looking for a great meal with stellar ambience this is your place. The Calamari is the best I’ve ever had.
Living in Reno for over 30 years my wife and I have never ate at rapscallion we were very impressed from the reservation to the service to the meal itself I am not going to wait another 30 years to eat here
I thought my dish was expensive for what I received.
We live in Sparks and we made the drive based upon reviews to celebrate Valentine's Day early. We were seated in the perfect private booth. The stuffed Monkfish was delicious. Nice presentation and great service. Parking is tight.
Food was excellent and the service was superb.
Great atmosphere, great food , great service!! Would highly recommend !
Family dinner and this place was recommended. The appetizers were excellent. Diablos on Horseback were great. Oysters on the half shell were served perfectly. Then it went a little downhill. Cesar salad I had was fine. Fresh Greens salad and beet salad were just ok. Wife had the trio for her entree and the shrimp were overcooked. Salmon was very good, but the halibut was just ok. I had the bone in Ribeye which was good until I tasted the butter that was put on top. It ruined the rest of the steak. It had a weird flavor that was either spoiled butter, or just something mixed wrong. That should have been left off. Sauteed Mushrooms had the same weird flavor. Crab leg on the side was good though.
We had Cedar as our waitress and she was both kind and attentive. She was very well and soft spoken, making sure we knew what specials and recommended wines were offered. Overall, she made the experience.
Our first time here and we loved it from beginning to end! Definitely will be going again.
Great food & a very professional atmosphere.
Parking is not the easiest, but if you don't mind walking you can find a spot.
We have made Rapscallion our go to place for years. This visit was no different. Our usual waiter Tui was excellent. This was our 45th anniversary and we were treated with outstanding care by all staff that we had contact with. We already have another reservation in 2 weeks for visit from a family member.
Once again Rapscallion was outstanding! The food, service, and atmosphere were wonderful.
Simply excellent. Since the critique require 50 characters I will say it again .. simply excellent
Comida aceptable sin ser buena. Servicio muy muy deficiente
I have enjoyed this restaurant for decades. The service was great and the appetizers
were very good. The big disappointment came with the entrée. The sand dabs used to be very lightly battered and were delicate. The new recipe was much to heavy for such a light fish. Panko bread crumbs do not work with this dish. The horseradish encrusted halibut was prepared as I remembered it but was overcooked and dry. This establishment used to be open for lunch and I'm sorry it no longer is. The Sunday brunch also used to be a favorite. Unless the old recipes are brought back I'm afraid I'll be looking for another fine dining location.
I found the onion soup too salty for my taste, and the swordfish was salty also. Thank goodness for the lemon, that helped. Your bathroom floor was sticky and that bothered me.
Birthday dinner with friends
This one of our favorite restaurants in the area we have been coming here for a number of years because of the great food and reasonable pricing of food.
I have been to Rapscallion a few times in the past, however I wanted to take my wife here for her Birthday. We ordered the special Monk Fish and it was less than par, as it was dry and rubbery.
This is the first time I had a bad experience with the food for the entree. The appetizers were great and service was great, just do not feel we got our money's worth with the entree.
4 people crammed into a 2 person booth, entree was served before we finished soup and salad and meat in beef stroganoff was fatty and grisly. No parking
