Dinner: Friday-Saturday: 5:30pm - 1:00am
C or E to Spring St.
From start to finish a wonderful evening with my husband. The staff couldn’t have been more gracious, warm, engaging, and helpful. The steak frites, their signature, is beyond compare. The sommelier helped us choose a wine we were unfamiliar with - that we loved - and took the time to pop out of the restaurant to say goodbye as we were leaving. It was a mini mid-week vacation in Manhattan. Thank you.
High end neighborhood vibe. Beautiful/handsome wait staff-extremely friendly.
Octopus was delicious.
Truly one of my all-time favorite New York haunts, Raoul's always surpassed my expectations with their timeless menu and preparation. Their service is generally of the highest standard and I have had countless meals where I found myself wanting to tip a pot of gold in thanks for our server or bartender's excellence. However, on this particular Sunday visit our server although lovely truly fell short of the high standards I've come to expect of this iconic establishment. It was an important evening as it was a going away party for one of our oldest friends and we ended up needing to flag the server down on numerous occasions to re-order wine or just get the dessert menu. Regardless, we'll consider this a bad night and everybody is entitled to a few of those.
Raoul’s is a special place for us. We started going over thirty years ago when we lived in NYC. We could barely afford it back then but went for special occasions. Now whenever we are back in the City we always go. The food and the ambience are as wonderful as ever.
Fantastic place! Great Steak and French fries are even better.
Raoul's is one of our favorites but last night was the best ever in terms of the food: we shared the burrata special, then had the halibut and the soft shell crab (fabulous). The only minor disappointment was that no sooner had we finished our appetizer than our mains were served--in seconds. Welcoming hosts and efficient waitstaff as usual. Noisy as usual. Almost perfect!
Great service and great food... Not quite French but French American food. I enjoyed it all. The chicken was cooked superbly!
Vibrant and very enjoyable restaurant. Great food and service and a very helpful sommelier who selected a wonderful French wine which we all enjoyed. Will definitely return.
We loved the whole dining experience at Raoul's!!!!
Used to be an old regular. The food was terrific and our waitress was superb -- even got a refill of my martini as I spilled some of it on the table (not tipsy, just clumsy!). My only complaint (and I was not alone) while dining on Sunday evening, there was a group table in the rear corner that was SO loud it really disturbed a good number of surrounding tables. I know there were many complaints. It appeared as though, when restaurant staff went to the table to monitor the situation, they had no impact or control. I understand these diners were a large group, and feeling pretty celebratory (everyone has the right to celebrate!), but even if they were paying a very large tab, if you added the bills of the rest of the back room that sum was more. And we all paid a price to listen to them scream and yell.
Love the ambiance. So New York and lovely staff. Always smile coming in and leaving. Great wines, good food and beautiful place
Absolutely fabulous!! Hadn’t been for a while but will definitely make it a regular spot for us in our neighborhood from now on!
Wonderful lively restaurant
Still one of THE BEST places to go in NYC, thank goodness!
Not a very friendly environment to start. Server was not the most pleasant and didn’t feel very comfortable in general. The famous burger is in fact overrated- both me and my friend were very underwhelmed. Meet didn’t taste extremely fresh and the bun was cold, crumbly, and untoasted. For $27 it was beyond underwhelming and far far from one of the best burgers in NYC. The physical location is cool and at least it’s one of the few places that’s been there forever. But I think they’re riding on reputation and history rather than quality of food and/or service.
This is my favorite steak frites in nyc. The food is yummy, staff is amazing and vibe is fun! It’s on my regular list!
Was great but the stairs going up to the bathroom needs to be changed. Shocking that it has not failed code as the restaurant is completely NOT handicap accessible. Apparently, you cannot order without everyone being fully present. We were going to order on our friend's behalf who was running 20 minutes and apparently she herself had to be there - what a crazy rule! We were a larger party and said in the U-shape banquette. Not ideal with 4 guys on the larger side. Was a very tight squeeze.
From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed to order, eat and turn the table. It wasn't until we ordered a second and pricey bottle of wine that the waiter calmed down and let us relax. I don't understand the rave about this place, the food, at the prices they charge, is mediocre, the wine list, bland, and the service amateurish. NYC is full of great places with really good food, go somewhere else.
Raoul’s is a favorite. Easy to get to location in Soho. Quickly seated but it took a while to get drinks and then our order taken. Food came out within 10 minutes. Super fast. Then took forever again to get more drinks, dessert and check. Couple by us were seated after us, ate and in a cab before we were even offered dessert menu. Timing definitely an issue. Food terrific tho.
Best spot in nyc. Always worth the money. Get the steak au poivre
My favorite restaurant in NYC. Period. Never disappoints.
Great food and outstanding service. Went there for the famous burger and it lived up to expectation.
Love this place
Steak Au poivre and French fries in duck fat the best in nyc
My wife and I, former Soho residents, have loved Raoul's since the early 80's and still do. We haven't been for a while, having move to the West Coast but back in NYC full-time, we love it even more. Excellent food and great memories. You can't ask for more.
Except for the fact that they kept trying to put me at the worst table , it all worked out
Delicious food, great service, beautiful atmosphere!! I did miss the escargot that were out of season. That is my favorite dish.
When we arrived for our 6:30pm reservation we were told there was an 8:30pm reservation after us. Even though we were early and there were many open tables the hostess was hesitant to let us sit until the whole party had arrived which didn’t make sense as we were already told we had limited time. After some discussion we were allowed to sit. The service was great while we were at the table but then after we ordered desert the server came over and said “you were informed there was an 8:30 reservation so you will have to enjoy the desert wine upstairs”. They then brought the desert wine over to the table and another waiter came by at 8:26pm and told us the next table was here and we had to get up. I’ve never been so rushed out of a meal before in New York and I’ve frequently been on the other side where I’ve been asked to wait past my reservation time because the prior table has not yet gotten up. What made the experience really insulting was when we did get up and went upstairs we found a it was just a couple of seats outside the bathroom. When we came back down to leave at 9pm we saw our table was still empty. So the waiter had not only rushed us out of our dinner at 8:26 and made us sit outside the bathroom to enjoy our wine but had also lied to us that the subsequent table had arrived. The food is good but not worth the unpleasant experience.
I mistakenly reserved a table a week later than the date I wanted. After showing up at the appointed hour with my three colleagues from out of town, the manager figured out the mistake and sat us anyway. Truly outstanding service!
Amazing as always!
Marvelous bistro. A bit expensive for what it offers but it is perhaps one of the 2 or 3 best bistro fare in NY
unfortunately our waitress was less than good. she was nice and smiley but inattentive
Great French food with an interesting and unexpected ambiance
Great service. Amazing food. Pricey but worth it. Produced a special birthday dessert without me even asking.
Another amazing dinner at Raouls! This is one of our favorite spots in NYC!
As always Rouls doesn’t disappoint. Good food , service, wine and vibe. Great dinner with friends!
Memorable food and service
You can only have the burger if you sit at the bar. It was sold out :(. But steak was good!
We have eaten at Raoul's on previous trips to New York City and once again the food was excellent although pricey. But the noise including background music (rhythmic beat) was a negative this time. Service was very good but impersonal and server demeanor was bland. No apologies when the americano was lukewarm by the time the dessert arrived (the cannoli were excellent by the way) although it was replaced. With so many choices for fine dining we will probably explore other options next time.
