We love Raoul’s! Delicious steaks and oysters, great wine, sexy atmosphere, and a fun wait staff. It’s always a great night out on the town!
The accolades are all well-deserved but so are the comments about the noise level so just be prepared and avoid complaining. Not being able to converse with your companion comes with the territory. Everything on the menu is worth ordering and all the staff is excellent.
The initial interaction was negative. the hostess (seemingly intentionally) ignored is for several minutes when we arrived. Upon interaction, she warmed us immediately that our time at the table would be shortened. (We were late by 10 minutes). The wait staff made up for lack of warmth but she was a downer.
Would love an option to sit at the bar.
My favorite NYC spot.
Really noisy, so not the place to have a conversation. Tables are too close together and they attempt to serve too many people at one time, which is what contributes to the noise level. The food was good though.
An amazing classic spot without all the SOHO. Very underrated but can stand with the best. Last steak I had like that was in Burgundy! My friends from Sweden very much enjoyed every aspect as well.
Overall was very nice we called the morning of our reservation to add one more person to our table and were told no but when we arrived there were tables for 3 available
The atmosphere here is fantastic! Lots of people, lots of chatter, but intimate at the same time. Note that it is quite loud - not somewhere to take someone who's going to have a difficult time hearing, unless they love to people watch and won't be mad that they can't always participate in the conversation. The food was great - we didn't get the steak au poivre (which seemed to be what everyone else was getting), so next time! Highly recommend.
Raoul's is a great NYC restaurant. It has everything you could ask for in a dining experience. I love it!
Very romantic and consistently outstanding.
Still and forever a favorite.
Always such a treat.
Favorite restaurant in New York! I went here in the 80s and we recently went back with our son, now in his 20s. We had the classic steak frites. My husband loved the chicken. Our server was delightful. Only downside is the rare and medium rare got mixed up when I questioned the order and we switched. But otherwise everything was perfect. Love the booth in the second room which makes it quieter. It is a lot more expensive than it was in the eighties but very good.
Birthday for our 13 year old soon. Very accommodating staff
Enjoyed the authentic French brassiere and food vibe. Will be back again.
Always and Forever the Best!!
One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. I’ve taken all my friends here and they’ve loved it too.
Tiny but a great spot. Great atmosphere and the food delivered. Would go back next time I’m in soho
If you are looking for a cool and authentic place in SOHO with interesting people, corteous service and delicious food go to Raouls! I love the dark and crowded ambience-could get a bit noisy though but this is what makes it bustling.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It’s my go to at all times. Best dirty martini and HANDS DOWN the best steak frites in nyc! Great service, awesome vibe and incredible food! One of my favorite restaurants!
Sorry Raoul’s the fun days are over. Inadequate ingredients going into overpriced food. The charm has worn off this NYC classic. Very sad. I tried to fix it with my waiter but he could care less. And now so do I.
The staff was very helpful getting my reservations changed to accommodate a late arriver. The food and the experience were great. It was the same chic place it's been for decades. I'm always happy to come back.
Great place to eat. Only issue was that they hover a bit, early on in the evening. It felt a little like they were trying to turn tables. The food was excellent. The service was very good. The only issue, and it's not that big of a deal, was that they did hustle us out the door upon completion of the meal. Still we were very pleased with the meal, service, and ambience. We'd go back.
This is one of the best restaurants in New York. Please don’t go so I can always have a table. Just kidding. The food is phenomenal the atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant in New York, convivial and like a Parisian bistro for Americans. Xavier is the world”s best waiter, and Chris is the best host in NzyC. Raouls forever!!
Just very noisy, so great for groups but for intimate couples
Best of the best in NYC - best food best ambiance best service
Loved it. Expensive but worth the price. Quality of food and service outstanding
I came here with 3 friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. Everything was great. The food was delicious (I had the steak frites, which lived up to their reputation) and my dessert came with a caramelized sugar bird cage because they knew it was my birthday.
Service was attentive without being overbearing and at no point did we feel rushed to order or finish our meals, even though the restaurant was very busy.
Always get the side of au poivre sauce
This place was just too packed in. They need to remove some tables from the bar res at least. It was like a pub with high end prices. The food was not bad but did not measure up to the hype or the price. When you’re packed in like that the food needs to be worth it it wasn’t.
Very small place, but charming. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is great. Very busy and noisy but is part of the charm and the vibe. I would go back for sure!
I just love Raoul’s! It is a place very special for me and I go there every time I am in New York. The food is great, the ambient is comfy and lively. You see many locals and not a bunch of tourists like a lot of other places in the city.
I've been coming here since 1990 and have never been disappointed. Cliffeton Green
I have to try the burger !!!
Amazing service, cusinie, and atmosphere! Had one of my best dinners here!
I would have given 5 starts if it were not for the very unfriendly waiter in the front area
After we sat at our table my friend and I told the waiter that we were cold because the door was open, He rudely and abruptly said that " this is how they want it". My friend and I were taken aback by his tone and demeanor, totally out of place in a fabulous place such as Raoul's, one of my favorite restaurants.
I had already been shocked by this lack of manners during my past visits
Luckily, the Maitre D and other staff were lovely as usual, and the food very good.
Always a great experience!
Please train the waiter to be polite and welcoming
My friend Garet LOVED the burger. What a spot! Well definitely be back!
As always, a Perfect meal
This restaurant came highly recommended by friends in Alabama. It was a great start to our weekend stay in NYC. The service is fantastic and they are very attentive. The cocktails and wine were very good. It’s a small spot so the noise level can be a bit much depending on who is sitting in your immediate area. Overall though, the food was very good but be prepared to pay for this experience! It’s worth it though...
