Dinner: Friday-Saturday: 5:30pm - 1:00am
C or E to Spring St.
WE were greeted by Chris the fabulous manager, had delicious drinks at the bar with our guests and were promptly seated at a cozy back booth. Our waiter was delightful and efficient. He made the perfect meal suggestions. For starters, we enjoyed the crab beignets, Wellfleet oysters, grilled octopus and a lush summer greens salad . For our main courses two of us ordered the Steak au Poivre and frites (always perfectly prepared), the crispy Soft Shell Crabs and the Halibut. We washed it all down with a delicious bottle of St. Esteph. For dessert the pastry chef prepared a wonderful Birthday Surprise for our good friend of a golden sugar caged profiteroles with a candle . . . and we ordered a few more of those delectable little ice cream filled puffs with the best hot fudge ever for the table! What a wonderful evening! Thank you Chris for taking such good care of us! Can't wait to come back.
Another great dinner at this old favorite. Somehow Raoul's manages to deliver the same high quality food every year, with great servers who know how to recommend favorite dishes. The grilled octopus appetizer was a standout on this visit
Great location, great service, amazing food, prices are moderate considering the area, our waitress was really friendly/fun, all their staff was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back again. Thanks!
Alex was always superb. Always a nice french spot for locals and visitors
We had a delicious lunch! We went at 12pm on a Sunday and it was very quiet but everything in terms of quality of food and friendliness of service was perfect. I cant wait to go back!
Best Steak au Poivre in NYC
Excellent service and delicious food. The burger lived up to the hype and the meals in general were very good.
Aperol was watery and in the wrong glass, the same for the Margarita. Food was ok, but not a big deal!
A great wine selection, an art collection that is amazing in its own right as well as a wonderful reminder of what SoHo was like before celebrity chefs and designer stores, and, most of all, great food.
I haven’t been to Raoul’s for many years, but returned to show visiting friends a taste of true New York. Raoul’s did not disappoint. The tables are a bit more snug than I remember, but the food and ambiance are still wonderful and charming.
Incredible ambiance and great service and fabulous food. I hadn’t been there for many years and it was as good as I remembered.
Delicious food and great atmosphere.
Favorite for over 15 years
Awesome! Great service...Chilled Corn soup with Lobster and then rockstar soft shells ...u wont eat better!
Raouls has become one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Never disappoints---perfect service, delicious food, great wine selection. I love everything about it! Five stars.
The best Steak au Poivre I’ve ever had! The place was loud still at 11pm, but truly enjoyed the meal and service
The Best! Always!!! Thank you for an incredible evening.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner!! Good and service were impeccable and the surprise desert something special! Wow!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Steak for 2 was outstanding. Ambiance was great, desserts delicious.
There’s a reason Raoul’s is a beloved New York classic - best steak au poivre of your life, fabulous ambiance and people watching.
A favorite of mine.
Food always delicious!!!
We were very disappointed in the quality of the food.
Being in Raoul's the night of the day France beat Uruguay in the World Cup quarterfinals was a treat, especially if you (we) are sitting next to a table of celebrating fanatic Frenchmen. Their spirits were high: their loudness even higher. The special fresh fig appetizer was fabulous as were the soft shells. We always sit in the front room but be forewarned: even without a celebration, the noise can be deafening. Welcoming hosts and expert wait and bus staff: always professional.
The food was delicious and the staff attentive and helpful. My only kink may be more with Open Table rather than the restaurant but it was my birthday and I indicated that when I booked. I had a wonderful experience but I looked over to another table and saw that a woman diner was receiving her dessert under a beautifully constructed bird's nest cover made from spun sugar or caramel and had a candle in it. My date thought he had dropped the ball regarding this as my dessert was not served with any fanfare. I thought indicating a special occasion like a birthday would not require any more mention. Still, a wonderful experience.
From start to finish a wonderful evening with my husband. The staff couldn’t have been more gracious, warm, engaging, and helpful. The steak frites, their signature, is beyond compare. The sommelier helped us choose a wine we were unfamiliar with - that we loved - and took the time to pop out of the restaurant to say goodbye as we were leaving. It was a mini mid-week vacation in Manhattan. Thank you.
High end neighborhood vibe. Beautiful/handsome wait staff-extremely friendly.
Octopus was delicious.
Truly one of my all-time favorite New York haunts, Raoul's always surpassed my expectations with their timeless menu and preparation. Their service is generally of the highest standard and I have had countless meals where I found myself wanting to tip a pot of gold in thanks for our server or bartender's excellence. However, on this particular Sunday visit our server although lovely truly fell short of the high standards I've come to expect of this iconic establishment. It was an important evening as it was a going away party for one of our oldest friends and we ended up needing to flag the server down on numerous occasions to re-order wine or just get the dessert menu. Regardless, we'll consider this a bad night and everybody is entitled to a few of those.
Raoul’s is a special place for us. We started going over thirty years ago when we lived in NYC. We could barely afford it back then but went for special occasions. Now whenever we are back in the City we always go. The food and the ambience are as wonderful as ever.
Fantastic place! Great Steak and French fries are even better.
Raoul's is one of our favorites but last night was the best ever in terms of the food: we shared the burrata special, then had the halibut and the soft shell crab (fabulous). The only minor disappointment was that no sooner had we finished our appetizer than our mains were served--in seconds. Welcoming hosts and efficient waitstaff as usual. Noisy as usual. Almost perfect!
Great service and great food... Not quite French but French American food. I enjoyed it all. The chicken was cooked superbly!
Vibrant and very enjoyable restaurant. Great food and service and a very helpful sommelier who selected a wonderful French wine which we all enjoyed. Will definitely return.
We loved the whole dining experience at Raoul's!!!!
Used to be an old regular. The food was terrific and our waitress was superb -- even got a refill of my martini as I spilled some of it on the table (not tipsy, just clumsy!). My only complaint (and I was not alone) while dining on Sunday evening, there was a group table in the rear corner that was SO loud it really disturbed a good number of surrounding tables. I know there were many complaints. It appeared as though, when restaurant staff went to the table to monitor the situation, they had no impact or control. I understand these diners were a large group, and feeling pretty celebratory (everyone has the right to celebrate!), but even if they were paying a very large tab, if you added the bills of the rest of the back room that sum was more. And we all paid a price to listen to them scream and yell.
Love the ambiance. So New York and lovely staff. Always smile coming in and leaving. Great wines, good food and beautiful place
Absolutely fabulous!! Hadn’t been for a while but will definitely make it a regular spot for us in our neighborhood from now on!
Wonderful lively restaurant
Still one of THE BEST places to go in NYC, thank goodness!
Not a very friendly environment to start. Server was not the most pleasant and didn’t feel very comfortable in general. The famous burger is in fact overrated- both me and my friend were very underwhelmed. Meet didn’t taste extremely fresh and the bun was cold, crumbly, and untoasted. For $27 it was beyond underwhelming and far far from one of the best burgers in NYC. The physical location is cool and at least it’s one of the few places that’s been there forever. But I think they’re riding on reputation and history rather than quality of food and/or service.
