Authentic NYC Italian... I'm so in love with this place! I would dine here once a week if I could. The menu is amazing and you probably wouldn't think twice about a pork chop but, seriously...you will NOT be disappointed!
Love Rao's. One of my favorite dinner houses in Los Angeles. Thanks to Manager Gabriel, Waiter Service and the kitchen for the quality of the food. We need to keep places like Rao's thriving.
Amazing as always 😀
The food, atmosphere, and staff were amazing! The music was also very good too! We ordered the roasted pepper and mozzarella for our first appetizer and followed it with the meatballs for our second appetizer. Both were very fresh and full of flavor. We split the lobster pasta dish and were blown away by the large size of the dish and the amount of lobster in it. Would highly recommend anyone dine here and can’t wait to return on our next trip to LA!!!
Hands down, the best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles.
What a great dining experience we had at Rao's! I highly recommended this restaurant!
I've always wanted to try Rao's and finally had a chance. Food was great. We tried the Fiocchi pasta and Veal Scaloppini. Also has a chance to try the Rigatoni Pomodoro. For starters, the Caesar salad and meatballs are all great. Classic, old-school Italian ambiance. Service was excellent too. I'll definitely be back for more.
Came for NYE dinner, never have been before but wanted to try something new. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 20 minutes after. The bar seating was nice in the meantime. Everyone was super nice and accommodating and raved about the food. We ended up ordering what we were told was the top items on the menu. I thought the food was quite average. Im a seasoned Italian fanatic and felt the pasta lacked flavor. Like the pasta water was not even salted. It was a decent experience but probably won’t run back.
Went for New Year’s Eve dinner with family. Our server, Noah was very fun and attentive. One family member has Celiac and the kitchen did a wonderful job with gluten free options. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants:)
On a rainy Thursday night, our visit could not have been nicer. Table by the window, excellent meal, great cocktails and bottle of super Tuscan, and attentive, friendly service. Looking forward to our next visit. 👍
The food was incredibly disappointing the chicken Milanese was very dry and cooked in old oil it was very tough and the rigatoni pasta was over cooked
The service was stellar. The cocktails were amazing and the food was so good. I ordered the veal and it was delicious. I love this restaurant.
This restaurant is quickly becoming a fave even though it's completely on the other side of town. Everyone from the Maitre'd to Johnny Roastbeef to Kevin the waiter to the bartender are there to make sure you have a good time. The food is always delicious and we frequently find ourselves in fascinating conversations with the tables around us. I couldn't recommend this place any higher. I hope, when they move, the only thing that changes is the location.
Foods as delicious! Service was great very prompt and friendly!
Always have great service and the food is excellent.
The ambience is wonderful and I feel right at home.
The food was excellent — the top was the meatballs. Marco made our experience memorable from the moment we sat down. He provided excellent suggestions, all of which were spot on, and good humor.
Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!
YUMMMMMMMO!!!!! Uncle Vincent's Famous Lemon Sauce Chicken; Ricotta, Bartlett pear, Brown Butter, Sage and Cranberry Fiocchi; and "Sunday Gravy"...slow braised all day marinara "gravy". REAL New York Cheesecake, and Tiramisu O.M.G.😋
Great food and ambience, but they need to teach their staff how to wear masks properly, especially the male bartender who wore it around his chin...
The quality of this Once amazing restaurant has significantly deteriorated. We ordered black muscles which were mostly closed. This means your not supposed to say them. The restaurant and the Christopher ok need to pay clause attention to such significant details. Also, the recipe changed from a delicious white garlicky sauce to a thick oniony broth. We hated it! The portions are also half the size of what they used to be and the flavors aren’t the same anymore. Unfortunately, this restaurant raised their prices significantly and lowered their standards tremendously. I hate to close the chapter on this Italian staple in Hollywood, but my family won’t be dining here anymore. FYI: family of 4 ( 4entrees and 1 appetizer) bill was around $250
Overall, great... It's been better, but we still had a great time and the server was excellent.
Great meal and experience, but ruined bc someone stole my glasses from either our table or bathroom. Got very little help finding them and the restaurant has yet to follow up with me about it.
Food was disappointing. Bland!! Pasta watery. Nice server Noah, and atmosphere great - old school.
This is the place for the best Italian-American cuisine in town. Located in a kind of funky light manufacturing/warehouse district, the food is fantastic. Sausage, onions and bell peppers was just as perfect as always. Then the main event, the Veal Parmigiana, large and every bite a delight. Service was impeccable, as always (this was not our first time at Rao’s). The décor is cozy and interesting, with celebrity photos on the wall and a fireplace outside in the patio. For us the only problem is location; we drive from Marina del Rey to Hollywood for Rao’s. That should tell you something.
The food was excellent and reminded me of authentic back East type Italian food. The meatballs are so soft and fluffy! We enjoyed the. food, the ambience, and the service. Overall, an excellent fine dining experience!
Wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious. Very generous portions!
Service was great!
I was expecting so much more. People talk it up and I was really disappointed until I had dessert then I understood. But the main courses, salads and meatballs were not worth the drive from Temecula
Raos is awesome, feels so old school from the staff to the food to the ambience. Great Holiday catch up with friends!
The best combination of food and fun in L.A. The staff is unanimously courteous, helpful and friendly.
All in all, a great place to spend an evening.
Dinner after Van Gogh exhibit. Food was great, the cocktails were substantial and the service…great!! Our waiter, Marco, was awesome. An Italian from Rome made the four of a feel right at home. The restaurant was buzzing with activity. It has a neighborhood vibe and a straight forward menu. You won’t be disappointed.
Enjoyed our booth and the food. Would advise friends to try RAO.
Great place all around. Such friendly genuine staff!
Italian? Some American version of it. Under baked stuffed mushrooms and overcooked hard sausages were forgettable but the crowd was fun.
While the food was good, some items better than others, it was TOO LOUD and caused everyone to SHOUT at each other. I left with a headache. Also, the Rao’s pasta jar table-light feature was spattered with other peoples food. It was a turnoff.
Traditional northern Italian dishes. Nothing really stands out.
The food was AMAZING- not one complaint. The restaurant is small and intimate so be prepared for lots of lively conversation! We will be back!
Superb service, excellent food, fun atmosphere. I will definitely come back
Great meal, outstanding service, huge portions.
Great meal with numerous choices among the four of us: meatballs (killer!) frito misto, veal, pastas. All prepared perfectly. Sat in the back room where it was quiet enough to actually have a conversation. Service was attentive without being intrusive. It's a bit of a distance for us on the westside, but well worth the drive and the experience. We'll return.
