Food was OK, not as good as the NYC location. Our service was fair to poor at best.
Fun menu, low key, friendly service, and different enough from the usual L.A. fare to make it a special evening.
Favorite Italian restaurant. Best service always. Delicious food !
Amazing Italian in a New York style setting. Nostalgic artwork and music. WONDERFUL male server. Delicious food. We will be back!
Excellent!! Definitely recommend. Food was amazing as well as the staff!
Excellent restaurant, good people, and an overall wonderful experience every single time I visit. Love this place.

Phenomenal food and service as always!
Tremendous let down, made the reservation well in advance and requested an indoor table. The request was ignored and we were sat in the worst possible location outside at the end of the sidewalk. Service was subpar with little to no attention to detail or us as guests. Food is mediocre at best lacking seasoning and finesse, definitely not worth the hype or inflated prices. One and done for me...
Great food, amazing staff, new favourite place in the area for a midweek dinner or a fun night out with great cocktails! So good!
We had an incredible time! Can’t wait to go back!
Great waiter, great music, great food! My friends and I enjoyed ourselves
We went to for a 93-year-old Birthday celebration - a very special event. They made sure our birthday girl felt special. She loved it. Thank you so much
The Meatballs were great . I got the ravioli which was far too much butter .. my date ordered a pasta dish - on the menu no mention of garlic or onion and this dish was all garlic and onion- she couldn’t handle even two bites .. was a $30 waste .. such a shame considering the meatballs were amazing .. waiter was nice .. the ambiance was destroyed by the loudest people you could ever imagine - usually I don’t mind loud but it was hurting my eardrums - I couldn’t hear a thing I or my date was saying ..
Everything was Perfecto
Reserved a table specifically for outside but was seated inside with no ability to accommodate an outside table when we arrived. Special occasion on a Friday with no opportunity to change plans. Unacceptable during covid.
Food was absolutely amazing. Service wasn't hat great in the beginning but they definitely acknowledged & apologized towards the end with their signature cheesecake which was absolutely amazing. Would I go back absolutely.
Dishes had literally no flavor. Food and Drinks were overpriced. Server volunteered to bring us a meatball to try, then added the charge to our bill as well as brought us bread and charged us for it.
Rao's is a classic Hollywood Italian steak place. No frills. Great quality food. Very tasty starter salads. The grilled veggies and other sides are nothing special and don't begin to compare to the famous sides at the Palm. Service is very friendly, but you can go long stretches in a meal without seeing a waiter, even in Covid-reduced seating times. Terrific wine list with a nice price range.
I think Rao's is priced a little high for what it offers when compared to other Los Angeles eateries, but you do feel welcomed and satiated.
Fantastic dinner at Rao’s- almost as good as in East Harlem
Wonderful place for pasta and meatballs. Always try at least one meatball! I was blown away.
Wow!!! Just Wow!!! I can definitely say that after a year of quarantine and not having the opportunity to dine out. I am so glad to finally do it the RAO’S way.
The ambiance was great, service was on point and the food was excellent. My girlfriend and I started with the meatballs as appetizers!!! Man...the meatballs exceeded all expectations; what classic Italian cuisine truly is. The main course were amazing...starting with the linguini and clams. The Manila clams were awesome, great combination with the garlic and white wine.
The Shrimp Scampi over the angel hair pasta was amazing. Enough lemon butter taste without compromising the original scampi flavour.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great dirty martini's!! Love the seats by the fireplace!
I am so glad I found Rao’s! I love this place. The food, delicious, the ambiance perfect and the service, perfect. I felt like I was in the movie Goodfellas. The family style dishes, the beautiful woodwork inside to the Italian manager asking how things are and saying in a typical Italian accent, Beautiful. Was such a great experience I can’t wait to go back. Word of advice, CHEESECAKE! Must have!
Phenomenal meal and staff. Highly recommend to anyone. Unbelievable experience.
Great, attentive service, delicious food, amazing cocktails, nice atmosphere.
dont miss the meatballs or the stuffed mushroom appi's!! Old school great Italian food.
Fantastic food and service. If you want Italian this should be at the top of your list.
Excellent Italian food, wide variety, served in a classic setting with cool workers. The chef is excellent. Best Veal Parm in town.
Food was great except for the rigatoni bolognese. It was very bland and needed more sauce. Only gripe.
Spectacular in every way!
My date and I had a wonderful dinner at Rao’s Hollywood. The ambiance was a classic Italian feel with all the photos of celebrities on the walls and the Italian American music playing throughout the restaurant. The service was amazing! The owner and managers came to the table to greet us and ask us how we were doing. I loved that! Everything we ordered was so delicious! I can’t wait to go back again.
Great food and good quick service
Amazing food and great customer service! Highly recommended
Overall the experience was okay. The atmosphere was great and our server was friendly. But then he didn't come back for a while and the service became iffy. I waited 10+ minutes to be asked if I needed another beer, then another 7+ minutes to receive it.
Also, I think the meatballs might have been undercooked and I didn't feel too great the next day.
For $150, I'm pretty disappointed.
Every restaurant in LA is doing what they can to get back to normal.
A great place. A warm and welcoming staff with no pretensions. Food is both superb and fun.
And the cheesecake is the best on the planet!
Wonder twin manager duo on severe power trip - will make up rules, harass you, will threaten you, will only give you a 1/2 pour of your cocktail (but still charge you full price), will only give you a 1/2 order of your desert (but still charge you full price) & will make your dining experience so miserable that you'll consider devoting your life to telling your story so that they don't do it to someone else too.
To save time and space, I'll bullet point all of their atrocities.
1. Tried to shoot me in the head with their temp gun despite me telling them not to and explaining how rude, mannerless and classless that is.
2. Seated us at our requested table but then refused to lower wind screen (like we've done 10+ times previously) due to their inability to read & comprehend health code rules. She claimed she couldn't put a screen WITH HOLES IN IT down because of needed airflow. It's a screen, that air clearly passes through but it breaks the wind.
3. Tracy the incompetent GM refused to move us out of the wind/cold 48 degrees but luckily our nice server found us a warmer table.
4. Tracy continued to stalk our table despite us asking to be left alone.
5. Tracy brings the health department document over, thinking that she's won but really she simply exposed herself. My husband is an attorney and read it and tried to politely explain to her that she's completely wrong in her interpretation & she then continued to argue with him telling him that he's wrong. Not possible. She has now engaged in the unauthorized practice of law.
6. Tracy sends tiny Patrick to our table to kick us out. We request that he call the police so that we can file a report against them. He shivers and runs away.
7. My husband's drink comes out 1/2 pour, his dessert comes out 1/2 order. We get a bill for our full meal despite the theft of food/drink & ruining our meal.
8. Tracy and Patrick stalk our table 6 times while we're sitting quietly trying to eat. Tracy even tells us that WE'RE rude.
One of my favorites! Old school hospitality with so much flare!! Old Hollywood with amazing food. Also if you like martinis ask for the blue cheese stuff olives!!! O M G !!!
The food is incredibly delicious, and the service is friendly and top-notch. Love this place and will definitely be back!!!
Kind of incredible and will return with friends and family again and again!!!!
