This was a special occasion for to celebrate my wife's birthday. However, all of the food items that we ordered were over seasoned (oregano spicy) and the veal chop was overcooked. The server attempted to sell us all the most expensive items on the menu. We left without finishing out\r meal because my wife had a stomach ache. We were very disappointed with the entire experience.
The restaurant had Valet parking for a $12.00 fee and this provided a huge convenience. Our server Jonathan was a great Server and provided outstanding service throughout the experience. The food was simply delicious! We tried the meatballs and they were great. The Caesar Salad had cold crisp lettuce with a terrific balance of dressing and croutons. The Pasta was Outstanding! The entire staff was friendly and very accommodating. If you make it to Desert then don't forget to try the tiramisu. (WOW)
This was my sister's first time at Rao's and my friends & I have been there twice now. The food and the ambiance are perfection. It's such an enjoyable dining out experience!
Love Rao’s. Start with the Meatballs along with a negroni or a Manhattan. Love the lemon chicken or the chicken scarpiella. the pastas are fabulous!
I had a birthday dinner for my son at Rao's. It was a table of eight, comprised of both baby-boomers and millenials. Everyone loved the food. The service and ambiance were outstanding. Considering that we all ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees, I was pleasantly surprised by the final bill, because it was less than I anticipated. Great place to dine while in LA!
Outstanding evening, and outstanding service.
Our HANDS DOWN favorite restaurant!
Fantastic food from the famed NYC eatery. Service is excellent and it has that classic old world Italian charm to it. Veal dishes are excellent and cheese cake is not to be missed.
A classic Italian American restaurant, a kindred spirit with Dan Tana's but with a more focused menu. It is expensive but the quality is there in every dish. The room is swanky and the crowd energetic. Service is gracious, friendly and attentive. Meatballs are a must!
Wonderful food staff and surroundings. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I was thrilled to find they had opened one in Hollywood. Thanks for a great meal and dining experience. They got us fed in time to make the Rod Stewart concert
Words don’t do this place justice. Great service and delicious food.
Best dinner I’ve ever had in LA. Best service and food anywhere!!!
All-in-all it was great! The personnel couldn’t have been nicer.
Food was incredible. Everything from the wine, to the dessert was A+!
Always the best food. We just keep coming back for more! Bring back the potato croquets
The service is super! The wait staff are super nice polite and attentive ... but too bad the food doesn’t match that at all!!!! We ordered pasta and the first dish got to the table with the pasta floating in water with sauce slapped on top!!!! Seriously?! DRAIN YOUR PASTA! Had to be sent back ... the sauce was nasty... I’ve had better sauce that came out of a jar!!!! The chef believes in ZERO salt and pepper ... NOTHING had salt and pepper except the seasoned complimentary bread!
The buratta was super flavorless, guessing they made it in-house ...3 tiny little pieces placed on tomato slices that were three times the size of the cheese! No basil ...
the eggplant parmigiana was worse than a frozen eggplant parmigiana bought at the local food store! Again ZERO seasoning and three tiny slices the size of a bottom of a cup!!!! And I wanted it super cheesy and they told me it already comes super cheesy .... if I can see the eggplant, it’s NOT cheesy let alone super cheesy ... and it tasted like freezer burn ...
Just all around really nasty tasteless food! What a waste of money ... and a lot of it too!!!!!
the best. rules. yes. 50 character minimum. incredible.
Rao’s is by far our favorite Italian spot. We brought my brother here when he was in town and it was the perfect place to chat, have a great meal but also feel the hustle and bustle of the city!
It was ok. Not good not bad. However, $12 to valet the car seemed very high and didn’t like that they needed my CC to make reservation.
Absolutely loved this place and the customer service was phenomenal!!!
The room was very noisy and difficult to carry on a conversation. The pomodoro sauce was disappointing and not up tp Rao’s standards.
Awesome service with Noah! Amazing food - you have to try the meatballs. Great ambiance and to die for cocktails. Boom!
We made this first visit at the recommendation of a work colleague. She said we would love it and we did. It reminded us of the Italian restaurants we used to enjoy in New York. (As it turns out, the original is in New York.) The service could not have been better - friendly, timely, helpful. The food was excellent....from the appetizers to dessert.
We love Rao’s! The service is impeccable and the food was magnificent. Seeing Johnny “Roast Beef” greet us is the best!
Always interested in eating at the original location in NY when I read about it. Surprised to find that they opened in LA so it was a natural decision to eat there. Food is incredible - the meatballs are a must, and even though I haven’t been a huge meatball fan I could have had this as a main dish on its own. Also had the linguine vongole, which was simple but delicious. Cheesecake is something you’ll have to leave room for. The restaurant ambience is traditional and unpretentious, and especially with the warm and knowledgeable service, you’ll feel right at home and welcomed by hearty food.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Veal piccata was just ridiculously delicious. Wow!!!
Food wasn't that great for it being a highly rated Italian restaurant. Penne lacked salt so it was very bland and the seafood entree I had which was shrimp and scallops was mostly sauce, not much seafood.
Always great food. If you are looking for true Italian food - lots of meat and red sauce - this is the place to go!
Great! Always have a wonderful meal. The staff is top notched!
Always the most amazing food and outstanding service.
Excellent as always. Great wine recommendation from Sommelier
Out door dining room was fabulous
Love this place
I was disappointed with the food. It did not agree with me or my guests. But the ambience and service were great. Sadly, I won’t be back.
Food, atmosphere, staff was terrific as always!
Love the place. Amazing food
Server was just a bit too much. Touch freely, trying to hard. Made it awkward.
We have wanted to go to Rao’s for a number of years and finally we did. From the great back patio seating to the attentive staff and, of course, the superb Italian cuisine. I have heard about Rao’s food for decades and this is not hype; this is the best Italian food in Los Angeles. I cannot wait to go back...but I’m still full from Saturday!
Amazing! We’re still talking about it hours later.
Johnny and his crew always treat me and guests like family. Front of house girls lovely as well.
