Italian

At each visit, the Rao's family wants it to feel as if yours is the only table in the room. The impeccable Southern Italian fare stems from the dishes' high-quality ingredients, such as house-roasted red peppers, freshly grated Pecorino-Romano and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses, Felipo Berio olive oil and certified San Marzano plum tomatoes imported from Italy. For more than 115 years, that's the way the family has cooked in their iconic New York kitchen, and tradition is alive and well at their Las Vegas restaurant.

I was really excited to eat here because we buy Rao's products to cook at home all the time and we have heard that the restaurant in NY is impossible to get into. The service was just ok, a little slow and our entrees were all quite small and very expensive--almost 40$ for a small plate of grilled eggplant with no pasta side which seems a tad steep. For reference, I live in Chicago so I was not initially shocked by pricing but, we do have amazing Italian food everywhere so my expectations were high.

Also, we all had horrible heart burn which again, is strange considering that we eat Rao's sauce at least once per month when we make pasta at home?

The food was generally good. I had the meatball appetizer and the lemon chicken as an entree. The meatball was ok - guess I was expecting more as they really hyped up the dish. Lemon chicken was good but a little hard to eat because of the way they cut up the chicken. Wasn't easy to tell where some of the bones were because it wasn't butchered in the typical way. Was glad I tried the restaurant.

Everything was wonderful. My husband got the spaghetti and loved it, my brother in law got the rigatoni and loved it, my sister got the veal picatta and loved it, and I got a ravioli (no tomato sauce) and it was absolutely heavenly. Would definitely go back.

Food and service very good. Only complaint is cost. I can see spending $30 for a signature dish. But I spent $15 for about 1 cup of spaghetti to accompany eggplant dinner which is insane.

Took friends there as treat and it didn’t disappoint! Fried green tomatoes caprese and meatballs for appetizers we delicious. My pasta with seafood special was wonderful and my friends thoroughly especially enjoyed linguini with clams and spaghetti bolognese. Service was outstanding and pomegranate martini fabulous. A great dining experience.

The staff was great & my wife's meal was great. Unfortunately mine was not. I ordered the special that evening which was Lobster Frutti DMar. A few hours after I became violently ill. I spent the next 36 Hours in my room trying to recover. We ended up checking out a day early & I am just starting to feel better. I did not notify the restaurant due to how I felt & all that was going on with the Coronavirus. I know it is too late to know what was in my meal that caused this but I feel the restaurant should know for the future safety of their guests. We were there on Friday 3-13-20 , 5 pm ish. We checked out at 5:59pm. Hopefully after all the pandemic is over you can see if you can figure it out. Thank you for listening.

Very loud. Dark, hard to read the menu. Food was good but not a value for the price. The service good considering our waiter had two large tables. I might eat there again.

Russ who has been my waiter several times when I have dined here is excellent. He is very pleasant. The meatballs were the best they have ever been. It was my husband first time there and he already knows what he wants to order next time we are there

The food and service were outstanding! There was a large group if men dining near us and they were obnoxiously loud, the wait staff was frustrated with the noise level and it would have been nice if management had controlled the situation... we were in a cozy booth in the New York Room and we couldn’t hear each other talking.

Expensive which is fine if it is top notch. Meatballs were fabulous; however I ordered veal parm and friend ordered chicken parm. Both not hot and very dry. I had to ask for extra sauce. Buyer beware, a glass of red wine is 27 dollars.

We first visited 5 years ago and I've dreamed of the meatballs ever since. They definitely didn't disappoint during our recent trip and I'm already dreaming about the next time we'll be able to eat them. An amazing meal, excellent service and an exceptional evening.

Since I will never get into the original Rao's in NY, I thought this would be the next best thing. TOO DARK, VERY VERY NOISY and the food was overpriced and a "hit and miss." That said, the staff was lovely, attentive and very nice. Notably, the burrata appetizer and ceasar salad are great/flavorful. the lasagna was pretty good and a nice portion.the penne al a vodka was also pretty good - nice flavor. The meatballs are large, but VERY bland - a huge disappointment. The penne bolognese was TERRIBLE (think Ragu jar sauce). The rigatoni salsata was also jar sauce like. Wine list is comprehensive but also overpriced. Go elsewhere if you want a nice italian dinner in Vegas.

Got to the restaurant 12 minutes early and the hostess said your early and have to wait. Okay but then she seats us 10 minutes late. I cant tell you how many people came after I checked in and they we all seated right away. Did all of them have reservations before me which they were late for their reservations then. We get seated and wait and wait before someone comes to the table. Then we wait again, like they totally forgot us and finally get bread. Our bread basket looked like it was what was leftover from another table because when I looked around at other tables they had more and different breads in their baskets than we did. The food was good but I’ve had way better Italian food. I live near Chicago which has great restaurants that I go to and the food here didn’t even come close to what I am used to.

The food was very good but smaller portions. The single glass wine prices are high but it is Vegas. The service was very good - we dined early around 5:00 and then saw a show - worked out very well.

Pleasant hostess and waiter was top notch. The room we sat in was a little to dark for my taste.
But oh
The lemon chicken is delicious as always.
Ordered the veal chop Milanese and the chop was dry and tough.

Stunningly disappointing. First of all, my cocktail billed as a “Frose” was a strawberry daiquiri. The Caesar salad was mediocre. The clams in our linguini were full of sandy grit. The chicken parmesan was rubbery. The sauce wasn’t even as good as their jars we buy in the grocery store. From being seated to having the table bused, it took 38 minutes. Made-to-order entrees really shouldn’t come out that fast. The NY one must be better. Also, Christmas decor was up... which was odd in March. We’re talking Olive Garden quality. Carmines is down they way... wished we had gone there. Avoid.

Had a party of 4. We enjoyed the ambiance and the food is fantastic. Wish pasta portions were slightly bigger, of course this is a credit to your families great tasting sauce. 🍝
Service only getting a 3. Although very pleasant and courteous, server brought wrong drink out, ordered angel hair pasta and was served linguine, and then wrong dinners placed in front of wrong people. I was the one who suggested your restaurant to our guests, so I was a little embarrassed this all happened to them and not myself. Especially at a high end restaurant which I consider RAO’s to be. My thought was maybe this was a new server and can possibly use a little more training. Somalier helped us pick a nice wine, seemed a little pricey, but I understand.

I hope my comments are taken as constructive criticism and not a complaint. Love to see family traditions, values, and hard work continue through the generations! I wish you continued success, and hopefully God gives us the opportunity to come back and eat some more yummy meatballs!
