About Rao's - Caesars Palace Las Vegas
At each visit, the Rao's family wants it to feel as if yours is the only table in the room. The impeccable Southern Italian fare stems from the dishes' high-quality ingredients, such as house-roasted red peppers, freshly grated Pecorino-Romano and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses, Felipo Berio olive oil and certified San Marzano plum tomatoes imported from Italy. For more than 115 years, that's the way the family has cooked in their iconic New York kitchen, and tradition is alive and well at their Las Vegas restaurant.
The time-honored staples include perfectly cooked pastas, risottos and the mouthwatering steak bistecca; cooked perfectly and sliced tableside. The classic veal chop is pan-seared and topped with a medley of hot and sweet cherry peppers.

Rao's - Caesars Palace Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Been to Vegas Many times and kept missing this one.. But made the reservation prior, and was a great visit.. Servers all were great, food was super.. enjoyed everything, and look forward to our next visit when we are back in Las Vegas.. Happy Holidays -Deb and Bill Schmidt
Ambiance and service was awesome. We had a salad to start which was very fresh. Pasta was also delicious. It came super hot and the portion was big enough to enjoy for lunch the next day. The cheesecake for dessert was probabaly one of the best I’ve had and the creme brûlée was amazing too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a hearty Italian meal in Vegas!
Have long wanted to dine at Rao’s, having known about the original in Harlem and the impossibility that I would ever have a chance to dine there. Superb service, food, and ambiance. The meatball is not to be missed, regardless of what one orders. Had the famous lemon chicken and wish I had asked for a double order. Excellent pasta (of course). Special kudos to our server Jiovanni, who made the experience even more special.
The hostesses at Rao's were the rudest, most unprofessional restaurant employees I've ever encountered. From acting like we were a nuisance and a bother when we walked in, to failing to greet us on our way out, they were the absolute worst. I've never had a dining experience ruined by hostesses in my entire life until my visit to Rao's.
It was just ok. The Lasagna was good but little meat in it. Sauce was excellent. However, shrimp scampi was nothing to write home about. Weird sauce. Not the usual lemon garlic and olive oil. The waiter should also keep his opinions to himself on how customers prefer to have their food. Not impressed. Won't go back.
Food was decent. Not worth the price. Honestly, very disappointed. It did not live up to the hype. Glad I tried it, but won't go back. Being a local, I can tell you there are tons of places in town that are much better for half the cost....and a better wine list. The only positive thing was our waiter....he was great!
We were seated directly underneath the wait staff's work station which distracted from the ambiance. We ordered the pappardelle shrimp and lobster fra diavolo. The shrimp and lobster was cooked well but the dish was very bland. For $47 and given the dish's name, I would expect a more tasteful dish. We were very disappointed with the food but the device was excellent.
The service was impeccable. Water glasses were filled almost immediately as you had a sip. The bread was very good with three different butters and delicious olive oil on the table to dip. The food is a tad overpriced and we were a room with a few large parties so it was very noisy. We started with the Fritto misto which was a very Nice combination of fried calamari, fried shrimp, inside zucchini strips. I had the Oso Buco which was delicious and my husband had a chicken Parm. The sauce was excellent. We enjoyed it and would come back again
Since we haven’t been able to get a table at Rao’s in NY, we were happy to get a reservation while in Las Vegas. Meatballs were divine! Savory and not at all dense. The penne with vodka sauce was tasty, as was the shrimp scampi. We were in Las Vegas for 4 nights and our dinner at Rao’s was our favorite meal.
The meatballs are as good as advertised large and delicious and perfect to share. Knowing we were sharing, it would have been great to have two plates. Shrimp scampi was light on the garlic but good over linguini. Sent back the lemon chicken as too dry and Lobster /shrimp fra diablo substitution worked. Overall, a nice enough Italian meal that frankly you could get in most non-upscale Italian restaurants at 1/2 the price. NOT IMPRESSED!
My husband and I love Raos pasta sauce and we were so excited to try the restaurant. However we were very disappointed by the food and service took forever. Apparently the system was down which is why they said it took so long, it would have been nice to receive some kind of compensation, instead we waited an hour for our food. We paid $200 for the meal and would have expected better quality food and service.
This restaurant has always been my favorite since it opened in Caesars but my visit this week was not good.
We were celebrating our 20th Anniversary with family and friends and the food was not up to par. The eggplant was awful and the ravioli was below average. The lemon chicken is always good but seemed to have a lot of dark meat this time.
I also called ahead to surprise my bride with special desserts but the waiter asked everyone if they wanted dessert and ruined that moment. All in All I won’t be back with my large groups and am really disappointed in Rao’s for the first time.
Not impressed at all, beginning with the hostess. So many other restaurants connected with Caesar's resort to dine at. Noise level was off the charts, hard to have a conversation. My eggplant parmesan was thick and tough. Caprese salad was very small. We ordered it with the intention of sharing it so it would have been nice if the server would have mentioned how small it was. We love Old Homestead, go there instead. This is a "one and done."
Dinner before Celine Dion's fabulous show. Matt, our waiter assured us we'd have plenty of time. My lamb chops were perfection, hubby's lasagna filled with meat & melt-in-your mouth goodness, as was sister's ravioli. Sis had profiteroles, we had gelato for dessert. Deliciousness to the max! Service was attentive but not intrusive, the perfect balance. Try them, you won't be disappointed! They truly know what they're doing.
I know this is Vegas but come on. Prices are high and that’s fine...but the expectation is that the food should be good. And the food at Rao’s IS NOT good. We had chicken parm, angel hair with marinara, veal chop and the lemon chicken. Chicken parm was ok. Edible. Cafeteria quality. Angel hair was al dente but there wasn’t enough sauce. Dry. Veal chop was small and again, just ok. Lemon chicken was over cooked. Sauce was tasty. We also had a house salad which was actually good. Have never been to Rao’s in nyc...prob couldn’t get in, but I DON’T CARE after the LV experience. Major disappointment.
Food is good, but not great. The prices are sky high for what you get. I don’t mind expensive if the quality and food is awesome. I found the quality and taste just to be average. With so many great Italian restaurants in Vegas, there is no need to pay for average at Rao’s.
The food was awe inspiring. The selection boasts of something for everyone. I'm so sorry, anything I try to write about Raos cannot be expressed by my limited vocabulary. I can best describe it by saying it was the best Italian food/experience I have ever had.
After great Elton John show an easy walk across lobby to Rao’s. Was perfect because it was quiet and relaxing. A place to converse. Nice bottle of Chianti and some pasta was perfect. Waiter was pleasant, warm and took his time. None of usual Vegas rush the client through. Pasta was different as we had pasta purses with pear and ricotta cheese and brown butter sauce. Just like home! Light and delicate. Tasty and different. Good choice at Caesars
Had dinner here before going to see Elton John, as we wanted to be nearby. I would suggest eating inside as it has more atmosphere. Meal starts with a bread basked that has 3 flavored butters, delicious. Bruschetta was perfect. The pasta was cooked perfectly , I suggest the Penne Vodka. Our waiter was attentive, and had great suggestions.
This was our fourth trip to Rao’s and I swear every time it’s better. The bread, meatballs, veal, shrimp, pasta, chicken and peppers, and pork chop were ALL perfection. The portions are too big, but we enjoyed our leftovers the next day. The New York cheesecake and cannolis were just ok, but we were just over indulging at that point. Great experience and highly recommended.
