About Rao's - Caesars Palace Las Vegas
At each visit, the Rao's family wants it to feel as if yours is the only table in the room. The impeccable Southern Italian fare stems from the dishes' high-quality ingredients, such as house-roasted red peppers, freshly grated Pecorino-Romano and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses, Felipo Berio olive oil and certified San Marzano plum tomatoes imported from Italy. For more than 115 years, that's the way the family has cooked in their iconic New York kitchen, and tradition is alive and well at their Las Vegas restaurant.
The time-honored staples include perfectly cooked pastas, risottos and the mouthwatering steak bistecca; cooked perfectly and sliced tableside. The classic veal chop is pan-seared and topped with a medley of hot and sweet cherry peppers.

Rao's - Caesars Palace Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating our anniversary and it was loving evening. It was friendly staff and helpful with any questions with the menu. The food was very good with a side of wine. The bread and the three types of butter was delicious! The place is very well set and comfortable setting for a private dinner and group gatherings.
Had dinner there before attending a show at Caesars. Staff was friendly and attentive without being overly attentive. Had a nice wine selection. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and the bean & pasta soup , then had veal parmasian with a side of the peas & onions. Had the peanut butter tart for desert. All the food was very good.
Food was OK. It’s Vegas so we expected the pricing. We waited awhile to get our food. Allotted 1.5 hours for dinner before a show and literally had to run to get to our seats. Ambiance was nice. Server was friendly, but in no real hurry even after we told him we needed to get going.
The food was wonderful, but the service was not.
I arrived a bit early (a little over a half an hour) and despite the restaurant appearing to be mostly empty, I was told that they were seating "on schedule" and that I could either sit at the bar, which was first come first serve, or wait until my reservation time. I opted to go walk around for a while, and when I returned to tell the hostesses I was back, they flat out ignored me, even though I was standing right there and they were not busy. Another hostess eventually walked up from the back, looked at the computer, and then called my name (as if I wasn't standing right there trying to talk to someone).
I was seated in the back of the restaurant, well away from the bar, but I could still hear it quite well. It was playing 80s rock, which I thought was a little odd for the atmosphere of the place (quaint italian restaurant, I expected Sinatra, not Van Halen?). The noise level of other patrons was also impressive, given that the place wasn't full. There were however a number of larger groups, so maybe that's why.
My waitress seemed attentive enough at first, taking both my drink order and food order. However, she never came back! She didn't bring my drink or my food, or my bread/water when I first sat down; those were all brought but different servers, meaning I was served by a total of four people. Despite walking past me at least a dozen times as she waited on other tables, my waitress never so much as glanced at me until the end of my meal, when she brought the check. Despite my food being excellent (spaghetti bolognese) and coming out suspiciously quickly (not more than five minutes after I gave the waitress my order), because of the service I cannot recommend Rao's.
We really enjoyed the food and wine at Rao's. The service, however, was not very good. Our waiter seemed to forget about our table often and never checked back with us. He didn't even deliver our food. We received more attention from the gentleman who brought us our wine, and the lady who was pouring our water.
Love this restaurant! We have been here many times and enjoy the atmosphere, great service and always delicious food. Recommend the specials which have been outstanding! Also recommend reservations as this restaurant gets filled quickly with groups and couples.
Service was top notch and the food outstanding. Shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were enormous and perfectly cooked. Purse ravioli was terrific, the filling was the star of the show. Dessert was profiteroles and ice-cream and perfect.
Now for the down side. The wine list was abysmal and insanely overpriced. Ho hum wines that I can find in the grocery store for 20 dollars were close to 80 dollars. I inquired about their corkage fee so I can bring something nice from my own cellar, and it's $50.00 per bottle ......total highway robbery. I know restaurants stick it to you on wine but they went far far beyond the pale. Caesars Palace is off my dining list...I'll dine elsewhere in Las Vegas from now on.
Prepare for Vegas prices, food was good not great. The only place I have
been too that puts oregano in their Caesar salad dressing , which was not a good idea.
The pasta special with artichokes was good, the crème brulee was not jelled, but tasted good.
I probably will give it another try.
Been to Vegas Many times and kept missing this one.. But made the reservation prior, and was a great visit.. Servers all were great, food was super.. enjoyed everything, and look forward to our next visit when we are back in Las Vegas.. Happy Holidays -Deb and Bill Schmidt
Ambiance and service was awesome. We had a salad to start which was very fresh. Pasta was also delicious. It came super hot and the portion was big enough to enjoy for lunch the next day. The cheesecake for dessert was probabaly one of the best I’ve had and the creme brûlée was amazing too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a hearty Italian meal in Vegas!
Have long wanted to dine at Rao’s, having known about the original in Harlem and the impossibility that I would ever have a chance to dine there. Superb service, food, and ambiance. The meatball is not to be missed, regardless of what one orders. Had the famous lemon chicken and wish I had asked for a double order. Excellent pasta (of course). Special kudos to our server Jiovanni, who made the experience even more special.
The hostesses at Rao's were the rudest, most unprofessional restaurant employees I've ever encountered. From acting like we were a nuisance and a bother when we walked in, to failing to greet us on our way out, they were the absolute worst. I've never had a dining experience ruined by hostesses in my entire life until my visit to Rao's.
It was just ok. The Lasagna was good but little meat in it. Sauce was excellent. However, shrimp scampi was nothing to write home about. Weird sauce. Not the usual lemon garlic and olive oil. The waiter should also keep his opinions to himself on how customers prefer to have their food. Not impressed. Won't go back.
