About Rao's - Caesars Palace Las Vegas
At each visit, the Rao's family wants it to feel as if yours is the only table in the room. The impeccable Southern Italian fare stems from the dishes' high-quality ingredients, such as house-roasted red peppers, freshly grated Pecorino-Romano and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses, Felipo Berio olive oil and certified San Marzano plum tomatoes imported from Italy. For more than 115 years, that's the way the family has cooked in their iconic New York kitchen, and tradition is alive and well at their Las Vegas restaurant.
The time-honored staples include perfectly cooked pastas, risottos and the mouthwatering steak bistecca; cooked perfectly and sliced tableside. The classic veal chop is pan-seared and topped with a medley of hot and sweet cherry peppers.

Rao's - Caesars Palace Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
RAO's is hands down the best. I went a few years ago myself and still remember the food. When I knew my parents were traveling to Vegas, I wanted to surprise them with a meal. I contacted RAO's and they helped me plan everything and pay for it over the phone. Do NOT pass this restaurant up.
We had dinner here while staying at Caesar's for a mini-vacation. The dirty martini I had at the bar while waiting to be seated (we got there ahead of our reservation time) was absolutely fabulous ... ice cold and perfect! My husband ordered a Manhattan and his drink was also perfect. We were seated at exactly our reservation time and immediately served ice water and presented with menus and a wine list. A beautiful gal opened and served our wine and we were taken care of her all evening. We split a Caesar salad that was one of the best we have ever had and the portion was quite generous. My husband ordered the evening's special which was a carbonara that he raved about. I had the veal picatta and it was out of this world. They served us a complimentary chocolate gelato for our wedding anniversary and it was delicious. Overall, we would rate this restaurant an A++++ as the food was perfectly prepared, served hot and with generous portions. The service was also +++. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Took my gal for her birthday in January 2018. Wasn't disappointed. Fantastic Southern Italian Food! Service was very friendly, attentive and spot-on. Food was middle-high priced (nothing too outrageous or excessive...you'll get out with $160 tab for two with drink plus tip/tax). The Veal Picatta and most especially Chix Parma was cooked perfectly and fabulous (ask for the fresh pasta --tagoline instead of standard dry linguine for an extra $3.00). Their bread and butter was terrific with flavored butters--addicting!The all veggie dish was really amazingly fresh with Harcort Vert Green Beans, Broccoli Raba, Zucchini w/olive oil and garlic is worth as an added side dish --it's a main dish but we split it as an add-on "side" ...delicious). Tiramisu is the best you ever had! This establishment has been around for 125 years in NYC. Yes, this is the same Rao's Sauce you see in store shelves nationwide--it's way better in the restaurant! I think they know Italian better than anyone after 125 year family-only biz.! Great date place, quiet, cozy, warm, with that old NYC Italian restaurant feel and not ostentatious or snobby! Waiters are pros and very helpful! I forgot waiters name just recall he's been there for a while and from Wisconsin.
I have eaten at Rao’s in Hollywood, CA and was very pleased with the food and service there but l must say the Vegas location did not taste as good. The service was great and the staff was excellent. Howie, our server, did a fine job attending to us and we appreciate his attentiveness; however, the food was just ok and just not worth the money for us.
Service a little slow. When we asked about separate checks, instead of just saying yes or no, he said yes but explained the "painful" steps he had to take to accomplish it. Did not take a drink order for non alcoholic drinks. One persons medium rare filet came well done. Second time it was rare. May not have even been a filet. My chicken was dry in my chicken, sausage, pepper dish. Waiter became super friendly at tip time.
On a plus, the meatballs are EXCELLENT!
This is an offshoot of the extremely well respected Rao's in New York, which is almost impossible to get into. The service was impeccable. We had one problem and the server took care of it immediately and politely. My spinach and ravioli dish was quite good, but I wouldn't call it banging. My brother loved his steak, rated the meatballs nine out of ten, and my sister-in-law loved her shrimp scampi. Bread basket was ample and delicious. This is a place to slow down and savor a good meal and good conversation.
Dinner at Rao's was disappointing. The atmosphere is a little hokey and the food overall was nothing to write home about ... except for an excellent seafood salad that was fresh and chuck full of delicious bites of lobster, crab, calamari and shrimp. Other than that, the best I can say is that the portions are huge and the food was not bad. My veal chop parmesan was definitely not a $53 dish. It was a huge chop but it was also dry and surprisingly lacking in flavor. We were similarly non-plussed by the other dishes we ordered -- ravioli purses pretty good; angel hair pasta meh, osso buco okay; and Caesar salad boring. Even my martini which was mixed beautifully arrived not very well chilled. The saving grace of the evening was very fine service. Overall, though, considering the hype and the price, it was a disappointing evening.
We were in Vegas for Newy Years and ate at Rao's twice (it was also our 50th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent as was the service. Food came in a timely manner and was hot. We had a number of different dishes over the two nights and each was very good. The restaurant is a bit pricey but the meal was worth it. My only complaint...Wine by the glass was extremely expensive. We did not do a bottle as I do not drink.
We had walked by this restaurant many times and thought the whole thing was the patio seating our front. To our surprise the inside has a great bar and a New York feel of the restaurant. Our server John was awesome. Every suggestion was spot on. Meatball appetizer, beat salad, veal parm and ravioli. Everything came out quickly but not too rushed. The bartender also made great martinis.
We love this restaurant. Great food and a wonderful wait staff. They are warm and friendly and assist you with your menu choices. The food is amazing, especially the meat balls. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Vegas and we never miss an opportunity to go back. Love Rao.
The only reason I would not recommend this restaurant is the price point. This is a unique Italian American experience. Yes it's expensive but you're paying for the Rao experience. This is our third visit and best. Excellent service and well paced meal. Request the replica room when you make your reservation.
Someone mentioned a credit card was required to hold the reservation which we did not find true.
The chicken Parmesan with pasta arrived cold and had to be sent back. Also, the portion was skimpy. What a disappointment, considering my high expectations. I really could have made the dish better myself. To be fair, though, the seafood salad appetizer was very tasty and fresh. In retrospect, perhaps Carmine’s would have been a better choice and better value in Las Vegas.
