Firstly the restaurant was empty and we still had to wait for us to be seated and served .
The salad only the kale is great, we ordered a mixed bread basket and were not even informed that two of the four were sold out and unavailable.
We purposely went there because we are foodies ... well the food is good when it gets there but it runs out very very quickly. At 7 pm no more pomme frites were available !!!! The mashed and rib eye are great as well as the tagliatelle.
Cookies for desert is almost like forgetting to put on your tie when wearing a three piece suit !
The cherry on top is that one salad stayed on the pass for 12 minutes waiting for the rest and the manager is clueless . We tried to pay with open table and she said she doesn’t know what that is !!!!! Maybe you should not have this restaurant on this sight or this manager at this restaurant !
Voltaggio is a great chef and we wanted to taste his cuisine but in this setting only one phrase sums up our experience .... Such a let down !!!!

I went with my wife and a friend from out of town for Sunday brunch. The place wasn't open long when we arrived so there were only two other occupied tables when we sat down. The server got our drink order, a mimosa, a bellini and a porter and arrived with the two cocktails but no beer. The server did ask what beer was ordered. We also placed our food order, two burgers and the pasta dish. 10 minutes later, still no beer, but another person explained that they were changing kegs, hence the delay. 5 minutes later, a pilsner came to the table, which was obviously incorrect. 5 minutes more, the porter arrives. 20 minutes after that, we ask about the status of our food and a different server says it would be right up. Another 15 minutes go by and no one comes to the table with an explanation or our food. We ask to see the manager. The manager arrives and gets very defensive, but still fails to provide an explanation on why things are taking so long. The restaurant was not crowded, two two-tops and a three-top had come to the restaurant after us. Finally the food arrives, not terribly warm, one burger's order is incorrect. Our server never came back to our table but was still working other tables. Eventually we finished our meals. The manager comped us the entire ticket and provided hand written apologies and gift certs. We asked for her card, and she stated it was in the note cards. We left, opened the cards and no business card.
We have been to Range before and had an excellent time. This experience however was hands down one of the worst we've ever had anywhere. Normally, I'd say that comping a meal goes above the normal protocol for making up a poor showing. However, in this instance, it was a necessity.

This was a horrible experience. I even reached out to the manager the day after but they did not return our call. The service was terrible. There was a large party in the restaurant so my party of four was ignored. Service was very slow, our drinks were not refreshed. Food came out late and under cooked

Very good, but not as good as I expected. Creativity was not high across the menu. Wines were slightly over priced. Ambiance was modern and pretty, but left me cold. Service was quite good, but not excellent. All in all a very good experience . Would go back only if I was in the neighborhood. Voltagio was there in all his tattooed glory !

We had some great servers, but our main waiter had never actually set a table before nor poured wine (put my wife’s fork and knife in the right spots, my were reversed; he poured or wine like it was water. We also waited 15 minutes for our check. Others around him were very good however, making up for his mistakes when possible. Food was good, but not noteworthy. Seemed like a restaurant who’s time those working there all knew was coming to an end really.

We have eaten here four times and all were stellar, but this one was over the top. We sat at the Chef’s table to watch the action. Chef Bryan Voltaggio was in the kitchen, so getting to watch all the food prep with the owner and master chef on hand was a treat. The octopus was awesome and the bone marrow was too. I had the lamb’s neck and my wife had the local scallop, we split the Brussels sprouts. I usually try to get something on the menu I can’t find at the average restaurant when I go to Range. Everything is always cooked to perfection, service is top notch, and the kitchen is a great show.

The meal was great - the food was incredible. They just didn't really seem to be set up for Sunday brunch. When we showed up there was no one outside to check people in or seat them - the restaurant wasn't busy but it took forever to get service. Everything was just very slow. Our server was very nice but had all three tables that were occupied and couldn't get things done right . One tables order was wrong, our drinks sat at the bar for like 10 minutes before the bartender brought them over. If the food wasn't so amazing I would have been very disappointed. Order the side of bacon - it's worth it!!

Service was horrible. Took us 30 minutes to see a waiter. Another 30 min to get a bottle of wine delivered Over 45 minutes to get an appetizer.

Overall worst service I can remember.

Range is fantastic. The sommelier was helpful although I would recommend the Elizabeth Spencer Cabernet if you ever find it on the wine list. Bringing the food was a little slow but well worth the wait.

Great drinks, appetizers, entrees. Our assigned server was the bartender, and of course he was busy bartending. Other staff helped, but why should managers choose that?

Great pizzas, fries looked and tasted like Ore Ida frozen fries. Salads were fine. Service managed to be both intrusive and lacking. A waitress seemed to be constantly checking on us/ him. right after our waiter did. We waited quite a while to order drinks. The food came fast, but they brought the wrong pizza. Both the wrong pizza and the correct one then appeared on our bill. To their credit, they took the additional charge off the bill and comped us the other pizza but that took awhile. Overall, good food but overpriced a bit, especially with poor service. Not excited to return.

Food was absolutely incredible. Wine sommelier was knowledgeable. Waitress was fantastic! Chef did a superb job! It was a little odd that there were only maybe 4 tables there on NYE, but that didn’t affect the taste of the food!

We had enjoyed Range shortly after it opened but had not been back for several years. The food was generally excellent; the salads and skillet cornbread alone were worth a return visit. The service also was very good. However, the Mall ambiance contributes to my assessment that Range is overpriced.

While the restaurant felt like fancy dinning for the area, our server forgot my order of cheese biscuits and also attempted to clear my plate twice before I was done with my meal. While I understand that we were there until they closed, this is just not the type of service I'd expect at this price range.

Went for dinner with another couple. Restaurant, on a Saturday night weekend before Christmas, wasn't too busy, and wasn't too noisy. Huge bar, but empty as far as we could tell. Definitely NOT a sports bar--which is nice if that's NOT what you want.

Seating is comfy, wait staff did a fine (perfectly adequate) job. Food is very good, and we enjoyed ourselves.

The food is great But the service totally sucked. The restaurant wasn’t even a quarter full. But we had no service other than delivering dishes. Appetizer was delivered with the main course. Come on. It sucked. And we brought our daughter for the first time. I am so disappointed. Do not go yo range.

This was our first visit to Range and I'm sad to say it was a bit disappointing. The space is beautifully designed and the menu interesting; however, they need to get their act together in a number of ways. We joined friends for Sunday brunch and there were few people. But even so, the serving staff was sparse. Our server was seemingly one of only 2 covering the entire place and she was also the bartender. We got very good Bloody Marys and a basket of tasty assorted breads/biscuits/scones/muffins (made in house). But it took over 40 minutes for our order to come out. My dish was incorrect (not the cheese omelette I ordered), so they had to remake it. It came out over 20 minutes later, by which time everyone else had about finished their meal. Fortunately we were meeting old friends and no one was in any hurry so we rolled with it and lingered over coffee. 2 of us had the cheese omelette with sauteed butternut squash and corn. It was overly salty and unremarkable. The guys had a meat/egg/tomato/cheese dish which they enjoyed. While it was a joy to see our friends, the bill with tip for brunch (including 1 round of Bloody Marys for everyone and coffee) came to over $230. The food and service experience were just not on that level. We've been to other Voltaggio restaurants (Volt and Family Meal) and had far better experiences. Once was enough for Range. This restaurant needs work.

Travel to DC for business often. Went to Range many years ago when it first opened. Was much more impressed then with the food, service, and atmosphere. Would be a good place for a simple business dinner but nothing special about the food or drinks anymore in my opinion. It was fine, but seems to have lost some of its original flare.

The benches were terrible to sit in. Asked for the chairs and the chairs are wide in the front and taper to the back. No human body does that. In our party, we are of different sizes and no one was comfortable. Please pay attention to the whole human.

We made a reservation to celebrate 2 birthdays, this was never acknowledged. We (5 adults) were seated in a back "cubby" of the restaurant next to a rowdy table (2 families with 6 loud and highly active kids/tweens). Why they would sit our group in the "kids section" of the restaurant is beyond me. These people definitely impacted our experience - normally a restaurant would normally not place a group such as ours near a group like theirs - especially when there were plenty of tables in the restaurant open.

The food was good, not great. The menu lacked non-meat main course options.

Very disappointed in the restaurant. I had been there several years ago when it first opened and the food was great--this time is was poor. Limited menu (not what shows on the website) and not a single vegetarian main entree (or even chicken). We ordered a bread basket as an appetizer and it took 45 minutes to come and then half was slightly burnt and the others doughy and undercooked. Slow service and only 6 tables were fully occupied. Food wasn't very hot when served and overpriced. Won't return nor recommend this place ever again.

I have been to 3 Volataggio restaurants (including Range previously). This was pitiful-a menu with only half of what is shown online, a clueless waiter, cold, poorly seasoned food and a end where they suggested I go to Cheesecake Factory to get my parking validated. Overall our experience was so so -- the food was pretty good, but the service was SO slow and the staff seemed really disorganized; we had to ask for refills of drinks several times before anyone would actually tell us that in fact they were out of what we were asking for. Again, it wasn't bad, in fact the food was pretty good, but I definitely would not go back here. Was also really hard to find, being that its in the actual mall.
