Range Steakhouse - Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort Ratings and Reviews
It was unbelievably poor in service quality of food atmosphere and the ability of the restaurant team to work together to provide good customer service. Having eaten at the range steakhouse in Laughlin we believed we were getting an equivalent experience. We can call the restaurant remodel the excuse or we can dismiss the restaurant manager, the restaurant chef and hire professionals. I ordered the 12 ounce filet and they said they didn’t have any. So, per the recommendation of our waitress I ordered the ribeye and it came tough as a leather boot. I ordered the lettuce wedge and received four leaves of a Iceberg lettuce. This may fool someone who has not eaten at the range steakhouse in Laughlin. However, I am very familiar with what the wedge salad should be. This was an experience my wife and I will not soon forget, if ever. We have no intention of returning.
Sincerely Thomas H
While we were staying at Harrahs for the evening, we thought we'd like to have dinner at the Range Steakhouse. We weren't disappointed . The food (Filet for my wife, Lobsters for me) was wonderful! Great ambience and our waiter James was a real charmer. A bit spendy, but we only celebrate like that occasionally.
Food was excellent - didn’t rush us through the meal - scallops appetizer was delicious as was the prime rib dinner - large portions - 3 ladies could have shared one prime rib dinner and a couple of sides - price was reasonable for the meal - overall - definitely would recommend!
We have been dining here every few months for 12 years now. Until the last 2 visits we had only great things to say.
Currently the Range is located in temporary quarters while construction is going on. Thus it is the Agave restaurant during the day and the Range at night. It is not an ideal location.
It is cramped and noisy. The servers seem stressed.......making mistakes and forgetting things on two separate occasions. No butter for our bread, cold crab legs and cold drawn butter...forgot we said was a special occasion. We waited long period of time for items we asked for. Just not the normal level of service.
I don't know how far the kitchen is from dining area or what the conditions are but we cannot wait until the new space is finished!
The construction that is going on at Harrahs moved The Range into Agave's which so there is no privacy. It is all tables and cheap tables that they've thrown some table clothes on. The lobster and steak were excellent but the garlic mashed potatoes were cold, grilled asparagus under cooked and cold. The waiter was overwhelmed and kept telling us he wasn't going to take our order yet detailing what he was going to do first; like fill everyone's water etc. A waitress told me there was 57 sauce yet she couldn't find any. She said she would return but I never seen or heard from her again.
This was our first time dining in The Range. Our server was Jody. She helped us navigate the menu and gave us great dining suggestions. We both had the 8ounce filet chef special. It was tender and flavorful. It was served with a delicious crab cake . We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience and will be back. We are looking forward to The ambiance of the new steakhouse...this temporary location is sorely lacking any!
This was our friends 35th wedding anniversary and no acknowledgement even though I mention this on my open table reservation. My friend order her New York strip rare and needed to send back and the rest of the table was finished with their meal when the 2nd steak was served..Cold! Waited for our table to be set, we were on time for our 7:15 reservation. The drinks were $3 more than in the casino bar. Also we had coffee with dessert and cups were never refilled. Hoping the service, staff and chef improve with the NEW steak house.
Harrah's Steakhouse was fantastic. The special was amazing, my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection,l blue cheese and bacon risotto was creamy and delectable! The cluster of crab legs were fresh and delicious. The lobster bisque, only available on Saturday's is creamy with a hint of sherry and is fantastic. This is a high quality Steakhouse and I highly recommend it
This was a dinner for my birthday. The service and food was exceptional. The only draw back was that the original restaurant was under renovation and Harrah's was using their breakfast/lunch restaurant - Agave's - while the renvocation was in process. The ambiance of the original restaurant was not there - they did try to make it as intimate as they could but it just did not happen. Would definitely return for the service and food - only after the renovation is finished.
Overall experience good; food excellent; service excellent; will be very happy when
Range is moved into new site. Only one suggestion: Why ask if you are celebrating
a special occasion and when you say yes, birthday, hostess indicates she will let server
know and NOTHING HAPPENS. Don't bother asking if you are celebrating a special
occasion and do nothing about it.
We met friends for dinner. Our service was very good. Our food was brought out quickly and overall was pretty good. I believe the transition during construction is definitely having an effect on atmosphere and food quality thus leaving the experience lacking. Our personal experience was very good but I can see by this current situation others might not see the value st this time. W stick by The Range Steakhouse during construction and their efforts to continue to provide an enjoyable dining experience.
My wife and I went here for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Having to walk through the smoke files casino and getting to the range only to find out it moved. Having to walk through to the opposite side of the casino only to find that the agaves restaurant was transformed to the range. Trying to class up a date area with curtains and mood lighting didn't work as well as they planned. But what saved it was the service. Or waiter was polite and kind and made sure we were taken care of. I would not recommend this place to a friend until they place is fixed.
The food was very good. The lobster bisque soup was excellent. I had a ribeye steak which was excellent and cooked medium like I like it although 16 oz was somewhat large. When I want a big steak, 12 oz in more than enough. My wife had a hamburger which was way to big for her. With 2 patties it was a very good burger but just to much. The fries that came with it were just ok not great and of the 4 large steak fries they serve, she ate 1. We both would have been full on half what we were served. I have been to many steak houses and had plenty to eat for 2 people at 1/3 the price of $93 which included a $27 bottle of Sutter's Home White Zinfandel which you can get at most liquor or grocery stores for $6 or $7. Over all, the Range Steakhouse was pretty good but this place doubles as the Agave restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We did breakfast and found they serve the best biscuits and gravy this side of Kentucky which is where my wife is from. Just to be fair, just about all restaurants serve way to big of portions for their meals. I think they do it because some big people are big water so the want to make sure even they are able to fill up. I think they should have small medium and large portions delectable by the customer at the appropriate price.
You folks need to get the new restaurant done as soon as possible. The anbiance stinks. The filet was not as good as you normally serve. The food took forever to arrive. We could only use two of the four $15 certificates for food because we cannot use the VIP lounge and are diamond members. Having said that Scott is always an outstanding server.
We had a reservation for 7:15 p.m. The host seated us right away. Harrah's is undergoing construction so the Range Steakhouse and Agave Restaurant share the same location. They try and make it more upscale with the table linens, fabric draped on the seats and candles, but it's not fancy at all. If you are looking for a great deal at a steakhouse, then this is the place. If you are looking for a romantic night out, I suggest Mastro's or Durant's. I had the 12 ounce prime rib and asparagus which was cooked perfectly. The lobster bisque soup was a little salty, but I used some sourdough bread to balance it out. My total was $30! You can't get that deal anywhere else. Most steakhouses are a la carte. This came with the protein, side and a soup or salad included. This was my second time dining at this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed! The only negative was there was a party of 11 and we had to wait an hour to get our food because of it. Other than that, I would recommend this restaurant.
