Randy's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
First of all the parking lot is way too small. We had to park two blocks away. As you go in you feel as if you’re in someone’s house. The greeters treat you like you’re at some cafe. As we sat there awhile before we got even water and bread. Our waitress was very green. You could tell it was close to her first day of being a waiter. We spent close to 200 bills there, and the food was not good. We had steak and lobster tail, and the lobster tail was way over cooked. The whole experience was just not what I expected from a place that charged these prices. They need to cut prices in half and start serving breakfast and call it Randy’s Cafe!
We have dined at Randy's many times, and treated some out of town guests to dinner there on a recent Sunday evening. The restaurant was lively, but not at all crowded, so quiet conversation was no problem at all, and we enjoyed that.
The service was awesome as usual. Great wine list - we had a very nice California red Zinfandel.
The salads are very good, and two of us had the (mock) Turtle Soup. Pretty spicy, but not hot. An interesting take on Turtle soup that got mixed reviews among us. I recommend trying it; you may really like it.
The steak entrees (our party of 5 had two different filet styles and a rib eye among us). Cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth tender. Every one was a hit. Two sides to share were perfectly sized for our party of five.
We had two birthday guests on this trip, and they were treated to complimentary deserts. A nice touch. I heartily recommend "Randy's Coffee."
My wife and I went to Randy’s to celebrate our 17-year wedding anniversary. The evening started out nice. We were seated right away and we got a wonderful table by the fireplace. Randy come out and greeted us, so things were moving along nicely. The waitress started out pretty attentive but THREE hours later we were frustrated. The food took almost 2 hours to come out and we had to ask for the check twice. The food was good, but next time we want to buy a nice steak dinner, we will go somewhere where the service is worthy of the price tag.
We eat at Randy's a few times per year. Always great food and great service. This time my wife an I went, and she ordered a steak and I have the surf & turf. The surf & turf was enough for both of us. Next time we will split it. The Au Gratin Potatoes are the best as well. Overall, a wonderful place with a really nice ambiance.
The food was very Good! Very large portions, so go hungry :) .
Waiter wonderful. Only issue was being their for an anniversary and then to have another couple next to us that did nothing but CUSS the whole time, spoilt out evening till I told him to reframe from Cussing!
We thought it was really good. The server was good. Our only complaint was it took us 3 hours from the time we were seated to the time we checked out, so it seemed a little long for 7 people but that may be the norm for this restaurant since it was our first visit. We will definitely consider going back for special occasions.
I was pretty disappointed with my evening at Randys this time. We all ordered the Filet special and were all pretty disappointed with the quality of our meat. It was not the quality I have come to expect, It was cooked properly but was pretty tough for a Filet. I get better quality meat at Krogers. The sides were good and the desserts were good but if that is the quality meat I can expect there I can get a lot better steak at La Hacienda . Thank you Tim Elrod 8177216128
I've had Randy's before and I was impressed. This occasion we had a large party and the service was amazing but the steak was over done and the mashed potatoes were burnt on the top. I understand the table was large but for $100 for two people I believe I should get my money's worth.
We went to Randy's Steakhouse for our 36th Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived, we were seated promptly, and our server greeted and was very nice. Then it went downhill after that. The server told us it was his 2nd day working at Randy's and that he was also helping with a party of 35 people that had reservations. We placed our order and it was a little slow getting out. I ordered a Ribeye, cooked medium along with a baked potato and asparagus. My Wife ordered at New York Strip, cooked medium. When the order arrived, I had an overcooked Ribeye, mashed potatoes and asparagus that was overcooked. I asked our server about the mashed potatoes and he told me it wad the kitchens fault. I then replied, that he should have checked our order before bringing it ouy. We were half was through our meal when the baked potato arrived. Randy, the owner, stopped by and I told him about the overcooked steak and asparagus and the mix up on the baked potato, and his reply was the same excuse about the party of 35 people had the employees working extra hard. I told him for a high end restaurant, and that he should have staffed for the large party so that the food and customer service would not suffer. Needless to say, we will not be back to Randy's. I paid $114.00 for a same meal that I could have has at Texas Roadhouse, and I like Texas Roadhouse.
Positives: The service was wonderful. Our waiter did a great job. He also allowed us to sample the turtle soup which we all liked. I appreciated the "extra customer service" in letting us try a dish with which we were not familiar. My husband thought the crawfish-stuffed filet was wonderful.
Negatives: I had the parmesan crusted tilapia. It was totally overcooked and had a hard ridge of black burnt crust down one entire side. It was so hard I could not cut it with my fork. I could only eat about 1/2 of the serving. Between the three of us, we ordered three different sides. Each was good, but not any better than any other side served in a more friendly-priced steakhouse. The décor of the place seems a bit tired, and the bathroom was not as fresh as it could have been. I noticed this because compared to my previous visits to Randy's (which was a few years ago), the overall appearance and atmosphere were not as welcoming.
Nice place, great environment, great customer service, but the cost of the food was extreme especially to pay almost 40$ for a steak that wasn’t at all anything special or mouth watering was disappointing I pay $17 for a steak at Texas Roadhouse and it is by far the best steak I’ve ever had and it’s always cooked to perfection.. but overall it was a nice one time visit
I really had high hopes but the food was just mediocre at best and it took 3 hours to get appetizers dinner and desert. While the waitress was extremely friendly and apologetic it can only go so far before you think what gives? High cost mediocre food takes too long
This most recent visit was a special dinner with a very lovely lady who enjoys a good steak and a fine wine. Randy's Steakhouse was her choice. This is not the most expensive place I've dined but it is by no means inexpensive. Not so much to save money, my date and I split a lovely ribeye steak and baked potato. Keep in my the portions are huge and our steak was 16 oz. It was cooked to near perfection and the huge baked potato was very good. The walnut & feta cheese salad was an excellent paring for the meal. Of course, no steak dinner is complete without a perfect cabernet.
Our date was on a Tuesday evening (1/2/18) and the restaurant was not crowded and very quiet, perfect for conversation with that someone special. Plus the fireplace was perfect for thawing out on a blistering cold evening. Our server was just the right amount of attentive (I was trying to win her heart over).
Our service and food overall were poor at best. Although he was nice, our waiter struggled all night from taking 3 trips to get our drinks, to the other waiter doing his job, to the food coming out cool, to the crab cakes that looked like the size of a tiny scallops with no sauce, and finally the filet and ribeye that just weren't up to par at all. The atmosphere was comatose like there as well. The other waiter who had multiple tables in our area worked his backside off. We could never get our waiter's attention which was frustrating. Spending New Year's Eve there was a terrible decision that I will never make again.
Service was great, very attentive but not overbearing. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and so tender. Overall great experience. We (as a couple) were seated near two larger groups who were quite noisy. Once they were both in there, it became a little difficult for us to carry on a conversation. It was NYE so obviously a busy night. It didn’t ruin the meal.. just enjoyed the quieter atmosphere before they arrived.
