Open kitchen, mesquite-fired grill, homemade ice creams & sorbets, artisan cocktails, wine cellar, wine-on-tap, draft beer.
Our favorite all time restaurant in Scottsdale. Never disappoints. They are always busy, so takes a while for the food to come out.
My husband and I returned to Rancho Pinot after our first visit nearly 16 years ago on a trip to AZ. We were thrilled with the level and quality of the restaurant once again. Everything was so delicious! We shared a wonderful salad a mixed greens and fresh vegetables and a really good house made pate! Individual dishes we enjoyed were the flat iron steak and grilled swordfish.
Nice ambience with an obvious crowd of regulars which I found reassuring as a first timer. Even though the space was open, there were camouflaged acoustic tiles and carpeting that really helped to keep the noise level down. As a vegetarian, I would have preferred more options but, at least, there was a good vegetable plate. Service was good.
We have read the past reviews of this restaurant but were never impressed with the on line menu
Review s seemed great compared to menus but we finally decided to try. The room has a fun retro western vibe. Service was good but that is where it ends. It was a struggle to find something that was interesting. The seafood salad wS really greens with bits and pieces of seafood toosed in you needed a magnifying glass to see and it was fair at best. The prices felt high for the portions
The only memorable thing was the date cake
Will not be back any time soon.
Food was wonderful. The preparation and the plating were excellent. Everything fell together nicely, the wine list has some decent moderate priced choices. And the noise level, which was a lot better than most restaurants these days, allowed us to speak with one another without straining to hear what was being said.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant. Both service and food make it very enjoyable!!
The food was so fresh and creative. The Spring chop salad was amazing. The décor is my favorite and the service over the top.
Busy. Not greeted as we sat. Had to wait a bit but friendly service. Wonderful food as always from chef who now is a James Beard nominee. Got the spring chopped salad-lightly dressed with lemon vinaigrette and wonderful greens and peas and herbs. The chicken meatball fettuccine was amazing! Hand made and sauced just right. The gnocchi is incredible as well. Very thoughtful wind list. The date cake is scrumptious as is the Meyer lemon cake. We will be back!
Great food. But location in a strip mall reduces the ambiance. But great food.
Wow wow wow. Have never been to this restaurant before although I live nearby. But I’m glad I did ...beautiful ambience very nice for a date night romantic dinner or just if you want to be somewhere and have a nice evening with friends.
Food was amazing they have a special winter salad that was delicious. Great wine list, and the entrée was delicious my friend had the duck appetizer for an entrée and loved it. I had fettuccine with chicken meatballs and it was fantastic.
Wait staff super attentive. At our table within seconds of sitting down checked back at all the right times otherwise let us have our evening without interruption. Will definitely be back
Every time we visit Scottsdale we have to go to Rancho Pinot. One of our favorites. Great food and great service.
Greeted warmly, seated promptly, and served seamlessly by three highly professional waitstaff. Fresh, modern but not fussy food. Especially liked the burrata with sardine-fennel-lemon relish, the gnocchi and Nonni’s chicken. DONT MISS THE ARIZONA DATE CAKE. Great cocktails and well-selected wine list. We would come here once a week if we lived in the area.
Always go to this restaurant when we arrive in Phx. Best food, very nice servers, great service and very good choices on menu.
I thought the overall experience was just OK
I don’t think I would rush back
Writing exceptional reviews about Rancho Pinot gets a little tiring. But what can you do? It's that kind of place!!!! Where everything goes right during each and every visit! People often say things like 'the best restaurants magically transcend time...' or 'if only I had thought of infusing goat milk curd with aged sea smoke!', but to me, that's all crap. To me, the best restaurants serve honest, delicious food made from high quality ingredients, in a nice dining room, staffed by exceptional employees, at reasonable prices, EACH AND EVERY VISIT. Rancho Pinot is such a place.
Always reliable mom and pop
As always, I would always recommend Rancho Pinot if you want a warm and fun atmosphere, where you can actually hear those you are gathering with, food that is absolutely HOT off the grill, and a stellar wine list! The service is spot on and I would recommend it for any occasion!
KEEP YOUR POLITICS AT HOME!!!
There is a curio cabinet in the back of the restaurant filled with disparaging and anti-Trump memorabilia. Political commentary like this totally inappropriate, offensive and just plain dumb! . The owner is entitled to free speech and personal opinions but it is not appropriate to display in a restaurant where people come to relax and enjoy an evening. Why would she intentionally attempt to turn away customers?
In addition, I do not recommend the restaurant for its mediocre food and awkward service. My appetizer was not as described. I never would have ordered it had I known the true nature of the dish. The waiter appropriately removed it from our bill. However, if he had bothered to check on us a few minutes after serving, I could have asked for another appetizer. Instead, he was unaware of my displeasure until he came to clear the plates. Even then he was oblivious that the dish was untouched and asked if I wanted a box to take it home. Too late! My chicken, our waiter’s favorite dish on the menu, was edible but nothing special. My husband’s meal was average at best..The pate had no flavor at all and the mahi mahi special was tough and unsatisfying.
I have been an Open Table patron since the beginning and this is the first time that I have written a negative review. Of course, there have been meals over the years that aren’t great but they didn’t warrant the negative commentary that I have just published. I do not recommend Rancho Pinot and frankly, do not understand how it has remained in business all these years.
We love Rancho Pinot...the food is always consistently fabulous...we congratulate you on the Jams Beard nomination!1 Well deserved.
Our server had many good suggestions and all our meals and cocktails were amazing. This is our third time dining here and we’ve never been disappointed. We’ll have to come back on our next trip to PHX!
We love the intimacy of Rancho Pinot. Besides outstanding food and service (thank you, Sabrina!), the noise level is such that you can carry on a conversation with your table mates in a normal tone of voice. A neighborhood gem!
Our server was very busy with a large party next to us, and we didn't get the follow through and occasional follow up that would have been helpful.
We always make sure to eat at Rancho Pinot when we visit Phoenix, and we’ve been visiting Phoenix for years. This place never disappoints in any category. The food is simply delicious, the cocktails are first rate, and the staff clearly enjoy their work—oh, and the decor is fun too.
Really cute decor, great food, perfect service!
We have never been disappointed at Rancho Pinot. Food and wine are wonderful!
Everyone we encountered was super nice, the food was excellent! I haven’t been there in many years and I’m sorry but I just forget that it is tucked back there in the corner!
We love Jillian and Isaac! Thanks for the terrific dining experience!
My best friend was here from Georgia and Rancho is our neighborhood spot. The staff is excellent, the food is excellent and always fresh and hot, and the restaurant is designed in a way to be quiet enough to visit. Highly recommend!
When relatives come to town, Rancho Pinot is our go-to place. It has a cozy atmosphere and the food is always outstanding.
Disappointed in food quality compared to previous visits.
A favorite spot of ours. Food is always excellent as is the service. A hidden gem in Scottsdale!
Very good food; very good service and atmosphere. Over-priced. Compare it, for example, to Rusconi's, a few miles to the north, where the food and experience are excellent and the prices are not inflated.
Wonderful chef driven restaurant. Food is excellent
After 25 years this place is still the best. We had outstanding service. Knew just when to come around. Never bothered or rushed us. Food was fantastic. Leave room for the date cake!
Always delicious, great fish and lamb chops were awesome!
great food and awesome service!! our waitress was the best and the food was superior!
This restaurant scores 100% from it's many regular diners and given out personal experiences over the years we are in total agreement with that rating. Just outstanding!
It has been years since we’ve been back to Rancho Pinot. Kinda forget that it’s here in this busy strip mall. The food is outstanding. Had the ricotta gnocchi in lamb bolognese sauce - out of this world. The date dessert is not sweet and perfect to share after the meal. The only drawback to RP is the location. The bright lights of My Sisters Closet pour into the place. High ceilings don’t help. Bar area isn’t inviting. BUT food and service are great. Not the romantic place.... don’t let it stop you from coming in and enjoying a wonderful meal.
We have been dining at Rancho Pinot for more than 30 years. We moved out of the Tempe area about 15 years ago but still enjoy coming to this restaurant for our anniversary. The food and the service was, as usual, outstanding. We'll be back!
Exceptional food and exceptional service at reasonable prices.
