Rancher's Club of New Mexico Ratings and Reviews
Overall the steaks were average, not bad but not great either given the price they charge for them. For the same price ($35-$45) I have had much better steaks in Santa Fe with much better service and ambiance. This restaurant is fine, just not worth the prices they charge.
We went to Ranchers Club for Christmas dinner and had a good experience. My steak was very tender (although they did cut it in half when I asked that they did not do it) but I still enjoyed the meal. My wifes fish was excellent she remarked and we were glad they had their normal menu. In the past on holidays they had a none menu offering which we did not like.
We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary at the Rancher's Club and the restaurant was nicely decorated for the Christmas Holiday. The fire in the fireplace was warming and our waiter was very attentive which I might have expected since we were there at 5:30 and no other customers arrived until 6:20. We had had a drink in the bar before coming in and did not order another. the appetizer of shrimp and sauce was lovely for two. We each ordered the filet mignon which didn't had as much flavor as others I've had and was a little tough to cut. The medium cooking was perfect. My husband's patties au gratin was very, very good as was my baked potato with everything. The asparagus was tough and I ate only the tips and the green beans and bell pepper my husband had was nothing special.
Our server was outstanding and very deserving of his tip. Our anniversary was still special because it was ours, but we agreed to try a different restaurant next year.
One of the best filet mignon I've ever had. Sauteed vegs were not fully cooked and took away from an otherwise excellent meal. Our service was slow because they had several large groups that were being served at the same time - just bad timing on our part. Birthday cake was excellent, as was the coffee. We will be back - every restaurant has an off night sometime.
The food was excellent. The oysters Rockefeller were very tasty. My filet mignonette was cooked a perfect medium rare and was fork tender. Our waiter was excellent very attentive but not intrusive. If you like a good steak perfectly prepared you can’t go wrong.
Since we didn't host our usual Thanksgiving dinner we decided a to Thanksgiving Buffet and we chose Rancher's since we have eaten at the Ranchers restaurant and ALWAYS been very impressed and satisfied with the quality of the food, the ambiance and the service.
To our disappointment, food was sub par, the turkey tasted like it had been cooked weeks before, frozen, then thawed and warmed up, the stuffing was horrible, mushy and tasteless and the veggies were average. We will NOT recommend this buffet to anyone.
In retrospect, we regret we did not eat in the main restaurant. What a way to taint the Rancher's Club!
Was somewhat skeptical and a bit hesitant in making the reservation after reading the most recent reviews; however, the experience was wonderful. The food was prepared to our tastes - had a guest from Portland OR where the restaurants receive excellent ratings and he stated the bison was par excellence. The service was excellent - very attentive and non intrusive! We do have plans on returning.
Our food was delicious and the staff accommodated my gluten-free requirements (Celiac Disease). However, the service was extremely slow - and it was not busy. We waited quite awhile for the initial waitress who finally introduced herself, brought water and told us the specials. However, she didn't take a drink order and never returned. After at least 15 uncomfortable minutes of trying to be nonchalant given the hostess seated us facing out at the entire dining room, another waitress came and said she was now waiting on us. She took our drink and dinner order but it was forever until she brought our cocktails. Dinner arrived in a timely fashion and was delicious. Then the waiting began again as we sat at least another 20 minutes with empty dinner plates in front of us. When she finally returned to ask about coffee and dessert, we determined we had had enough, paid our check and left - never to return again. As far as we could tell, the five waitstaff had at the most three tables each to wait on. We wondered if they were also prepping food in the kitchen as they each seemed to disappear for long stretches of time.
Average. Food was served at room temp - even the steak. Had a heads up when the amuse bouche of bison tenderloin with grilled artichoke heart was dry and tough. Waitress was not professionally trained and uttered the f word when her cart bumped into the table next to us. Will not be going back or recommending.
