Had the oyster Rockefeller, could have had a little less cheese (it melted over and was tougher to chew than the oyster itself, also I'm pretty sure the menu says the Rockefeller is supposed to have hollandaise which it didn't. For an entree I had the coyboy cut ribeye with smoked gouda hash browns, seasonal veggies, and smoked Chile Demi. In my opinion the veg was under cooked, not blanched enough before hand. The hash browns tasted great although quite stuck to the pan they were cooked/sent out in. The steak FANTASTIC. Cooked perfectly and rested perfectly. The demo though didn't seem to be what I was expecting. I make Demi on a regular basis and that full bodied flavor just wasn't there. It complimented the steak very nicely but I expected a sauce I want an extra portion of rather than one that i just want to poor over the steak carelessly, I want to respect the sauce even more so when it's called a Demi. Overall would recommend to a friend.

A quiet, faux western steakhouse with good food and good service. The portions were large for the steaks, but made great breakfast sandwiches! The wine list was adequate, but with few low cost or even moderate cost wines. The choice of wines available was quite different from that available at most restaurants. Some categories were missing and others were filled with wines that were totally unfamiliar.

We are two retired couples, ordered two salads and one appetizer, salads came, the appetizer never appeared. Our server was very apologetic. We then ordered 2 medium filet mignon which came correctly cooked, one strip steak that was very tasty and one filet mignon medium-well which came butterflied and cooked well done to dry. Overall not a great dinner and VERY overpriced for what we got.

We were looking for a Western motif old school steak house and it was spot on. Great ambiance inside, wonderful western ambiance and very good food. Needed some attention to the finer points - foggy glassware, wine served in water goblets but looking past these issues it was a wonderful meal.

We had a great sever. The hostess was rude when we arrived. We had reservations at 5:30 as did some others who were looking for the rest of their party. When those who were waiting said ,”I wonder where they are they said they were here.” The hostess was quick to remind everyone that the restaurant did not open until 5:30 so there was no way the missing party could be inside. It was just rude. The guests were wondering aloud. I thought seriously about turning around and leaving. We stayed our server was very good and professional. The food was excellent. I would return.

Frankly, we were dismayed by the lack of attention to detail from the wait staff. Service used to set the Rancher's Club apart from the competition. Not any more. Our initial drink order took so long to arrive that we cancelled it. My steak was tender, but underdone, but no one bothered to check on us within a few minutes after serving our meal. We asked for our wine to be put on ice, but that request was not fulfilled until we had to flag down help and ask a second time. Overall, not a good experience, and sadly disappointing.

This was another wine dinner. Excellent pairings for the food and the wine. The chef did an excellent job and the courses were flavorful and had appropriate quantity, except for the first course, which I really didn’t care for. The other four courses made up for the first and the overall experience was excellent. I look forward to the next time.

This was my first time to enjoy dinner at The Rancher's Club. Upon arrival we were treated to a mini appetizer which was very tasty. For dinner I chose pasta with jumbo shrimp and my husband selected a rib eye steak and we shared a wedge salad. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We shared a dessert, to celebrate my husbands birthday but I don't remember what we got. The wine selection was nice, however, I thought a bit pricey. All in all it was a great experience and I would recommend and dine at The Rancher's Club again.

Let’s just say out of everything we ordered (Rockefeller’s, shrimp cocktail, crab cake, salads,Buffalo tenderloin, angel hair shrimp, duck breast) the bread was the favorite item on the table. 🙁😠
All for the bargain price of $225!!!
We ate the Rockefeller’s, most of the crab cake, send the mealy shrimp cocktail back and finished the duck breast..left all the rest...didn’t want to take any of it home.

PS. That was $225 with NO alcohol...

This was a pretty boring restaurant, and I think it felt so isolated since it wasn’t busy and they sat down in the very middle of the restaurant. Prices are reasonable given steak come with side, etc. the drinks were solid but the wines by the glass were nothing special. I don’t live in ABQ, but if I did, I would probably try and find a better steakhouse. This was a very underwhelming experience.

Food was way over priced. Service was great. I don’t mind paying for a good meal, however my husband got a house salad $9.00 and it was warm he sent it back and they did apologized and removed it from our bill. We both ordered steaks they were good, however not worth $40-47.00 each. Not sure that I would go back.

We loved the traditional décor with hunting and Southwest accents, the menu selections, and the food. We were surprised they didn't have the New Mexico Gruet sparkling wine we wanted to order from the wine list, but they accommodated by giving us a fine California substitute for the same price. We also were surprised there was no cocktail menu, even thought the restaurant has a well-stocked bar. I probably would have ordered a cocktail in addition to the wine, if I could have seen what my choices were. These were minor quibbles, however, and overall we had a very enjoyable experience. I would recommend Ranchers Club if you're in ABQ and like a good old-school steakhouse.

When you walk into an expensive place to eat and only see four "2-top" tables on a Saturday evening, you should suspect something is amiss.

At first glance, the ambiance is good despite the piano player being too loud for the room. But things quickly became dicey within the first 5-minutes. We were seated quickly but had to wait for over 10-minutes for the waitress to acknowledge our presence.

It took another 10 minutes to order our first drink (and with only 3 other tables at the time, the waitresses were not very busy or preoccupied with other diners).

It took an additional 12-15 minutes into this ordeal before we finally had the opportunity to order our food ... add another 20 minutes to get our salads ... our main course finally arrived around an hour and a half after we were first seated. (over 90 minutes for the main course ... really … ???)

I've experienced better service at the New Mexico DMV or with the TSA at major airports!

Our waitress was MISSING IN ACTION for the majority of the time. I would have RAISED HELL with the waitress and manager BUT since this was a birthday celebration for my 93-year-old close friend (and he had chosen The Ranchers for his birthday dinner) I did not want this to turn into a nasty situation.

On the plus side, our steaks were grilled to perfection and the wine we ordered was exactly what one would expect.

However, unless you want to spend over 2 1/2 hours in a restaurant due to poor or non-existent service, I suggest you steer clear of this location.

The Rancher’s Club is way too expensive for the lack of service and apparent poor training/oversight of the waitstaff and food prep!

This is just my opinion, but unless you really enjoy poor service … I suggest you DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Steak was great, cooked perfectly. The rest of the meal was sub-par. “Baked” potato appeared to be microwaved. The butter for the bread and the potato had an odd flavor almost like it had absorbed some flavor from another item in the refrigerator. Service was adequate but less than expected at this price point. Waiter did not cover the specials and was not familiar with the vegetable side dish.
