The service was great and the manager was very hospitable and accommodating but the food was substandard. The fish was dry and the steak was a poor cut not worth $48 that it was priced. And the dessert was blah. The only consolation was that We were compensated for our meal when we voiced our disappointment but the loss in the excitement for the celebration cannot be made up
Great steak in in a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.
We went for a birthday dinner. The food and service were their usual excellent level and we had a very enjoyable evening.
Our visit to the The Rancher's Club was a pleasant "Mother's Day" novelty for us. We enjoyed the ambience and our waitress was pleasant.
NOTE; The following is not intended to be spiteful or mean...just being honest, for whatever benefit there is in that.
The meat we ordered (two cowboys and a prime) were delicious (we all love mesquite-grilled beef and chicken!), but somewhat underdone (due to a tricky thickness, I think), as well as quite tough and gristly. For the price, you might expect a steak that melts in your mouth, so these fell short a bit.
I ordered a "smoked gouda hashbrown" side, which was kind of overcooked and dried out. I couldn't detect any melted cheese in there at all...it was more like a nest of crunchy twigs with not much flavor.
The creme brulee, however, was quite decent, with a nice salt/sugar balance that escapes most kitchens.
Although not a huge deal, the service was fairly slow...we'd been seated close to probably half an hour before food was served. I don't think this was all the waitress's fault...my impression was that the kitchen might've been a little understaffed.
All that said, thank-you Rancher's Club for hosting a memorable opportunity for us to feel like bigshots! God bless (and don't be mad at us!),

Rancher's Club is a quintessential dining experience that should not be missed. It is one of Albuquerque's iconic places that has become an important part of the fabric of our culture. It is the place to go when there is a special event to be Celebrated, as well as the place to go when you want to show someone how special they are.
I have been to the Ranchers Club a lot in the past. It was always an elegant splurge. I loved how they unveiled your meal and placed your napkins on your lap. It was quite disappointing that they no longer carry the wonderful assortment of sauces to accompany your meat/food. And to top it all of they over cooked my steak. I think for the expensive price tag the quality and experience is not superior any more. I will have to find another decadent splurge else where. I will not be returning to the Ranchers Club in the future.
First time visit and was impressed. Great embience; Floyd, our server was outstanding; crab cake appetizer was so close to the Maryland style - so delish!
This place is amazing. The food was wonderful and the service was superb. What left a lasting impression on me was that we were for there for a birthday and the dessert for our special Occassion was brought out by the manager herself. She also made sure to speak to us about our meals and made us feel special and welcomed. I will be coming back for many future specials occasions.
I knew it was bad when I realized it was attached to a hotel. We were seated quickly and the staff was nice. We started with some drinks and two people had to send theirs back because there was sand or detergent floating on the bottom. They brought out a mushroom things as a starter. It was free and that’s the only good thing. It was cold and bland. The entrees were also bland. Overall, entirely overpriced for what you get.
Always a stop when in Alb for business. Great atmosphere, food and service!
Outstanding! Filet was cooked perfectly, could cut it with a fork, sea bass was the best. And Floyd’s service was impeccable.
My visit at the ranchers club of Newmexico was amazing, the female piano player was also amazing,
this is the most amazing, classiest, romantic place ever
The shrimp was a bit overdone. The waiter was very nice but slow.
We are regular customers here and love the ambience, however we have noticed a decline in the food. One in our party ordered his rib-eye medium well and it came rare. My husband ordered his venison medium-rare and it was almost bloody, and my son ordered the duck medium -rare and it came rare. Very dissapointing.
Outstanding evening beautiful dining room, excellent food and selection. Service was superb-great for a special occasion.
A nice Saturday night dinner. We were anxious to taste the new chef’s cuisine and were not disappointed. We had the sausage appetizer with new varieties of sausage. It was fantastic but much more than one person would order, so I highly recommend sharing, as there is plenty for 2 or 3 people, with several cheeses, olives, pickles, bread, peppers and a great pear relish. I had the fish special, which was grouper stuffed with crab over fried polenta. The mixture of textures was wonderful and everything was cooked perfectly. The only course I wasn’t fond of was dessert. We had fresh berries in a small baked shell covered in a sauce that I thought was too thin and somewhat tasteless. Overall I really enjoyed the meal and look forward to whatever changes the new chef might make to the menu.
Excellent service with delicious food! Loved it! Waiter was knowledgeable and attentive but not bothersome.
We went there to celebrate my birthday. It was a very good experience however both of our meats were actually rare rather than medium as requested. Overall the food and service were very good. The atmosphere was quiet and we enjoyed the piano music that was coming from the bar when we arrived.
This was my first time at The Rancher’s Club, this restaurant is such a gem. The waiter Floyd was so awesome, the chef is amazing! Our food was so delicious and I loved the cozy atmosphere and the Ranchers decor. I will definitely be back, they made my birthday so special.
I was very happy to find out that there would be a pianist playing all throughout dinner. She was very good, and I will recommend Saturday dinners at Rancher's Club to my friends.
Unique dining experience with menu offerings including most delicious game meats. Outstanding service, comfortable seating, great for business dinners, special occasions or just because You deserve it!
Directors club used to have a fantastic menu they have cut back so much that they don’t have much to offer I ordered a fillet and it was an awful cut tough stringy, Is the first time I have ever read it on the slow I love this restaurant but unfortunately I believe new ownership and economy has affected them. Service was outstanding but still not at the level that the Rancher Club was known for.
Love the food- the restaurant REALLY needs to be remodeled. It’s been the same for 40 years
Great place. Terrific food and good service. Found some items on the menu to be a bit pricey but good nonetheless.
Lovely steaks, food was excellent. We had a group of 10 and had excellent service. Very attentive but not at all intrusive.
This is by far the quintessential restaurant when it comes to amazing food, service and ambiance. Nothing in Albuquerque can hold a candle to this place.
Always enjoy a meal at the Ranchers Club, from a solo visit to a large party. This visit enjoyed catching up with friends over delicious food in a lovely setting.
This was my first time to dine at Ranchers Club and I have lived in Albuquerque all my life.
It just became my favorite place to dine in New Mexico.
I'm sure I will be a frequent visitor.
The food is well worth the price. The decor is horrid.
Consistent quality and great atmosphere with excellent food
You can’t find any place better than this restaurant.
Amazing customer service. Everything is perfect. Food, employees, and environment are awesome.
Went for Valentine’s day. Everything was perfect! Steak was a great quality and value. 40 dollars per steak 12-16 ounce lots of meat minimal fat. Service was very attentive.
A lot of food for the price
This is what it is. A stodgy, if pleasant atmosphere for older folks to eat a romantic dinner. The food was fine and the service was attentive (although slow and brought things to us out of order). I'm glad we went for a one-time experience. I suspect it has a lot of regulars that really love it.
OUTSTANDING service! I also ate antelope for the first time in my life. Medium-rare as recommended by our waiter. It was DELICIOUS - seared and cooked to perfection.
The sausage platter appetizer was a very pleasant surprise. It was a big tray for two people, but the meats and cheeses were excellent!
The restaurant was very quiet and the seating was very comfortable - perfect for a nice, long Customer dinner.
I've added it to my favorites in the map app on my phone - I'll return!
Well, when we arrived, they did not have our reservation.
However, it was extremely slow that evening.
Food was pricey...desserts $20??? Give me a break!
We probably won't choose it again for our business entertainment dinners.
We had a wonderful dining experience, superb service, excellent food and a charming ambiance.
Our dinner at the Rancher’s Club was ok...definitely not what it used to be...
This place used to be a wonderful restaurant for that special occasion, and you would be will to pay the hefty price for that. The atmosphere had been quite 'rustic' elegant, but that has changed. While they have the same wall decor, chandeliers, etc. everything on the floor (chairs, side walls) was scratched and gouged up... obvious that no upkeep/replacements had been done. In the past you would get so much food that a take-home bag was necessary, not this time. And the food was marginal, at best. My duck I requested as medium, but it came out as medium rare, the snap-peas and rice cauliflower were passe. My companions had a few new potatoes that were moldy, their trout was reported as 'tired' and that great. We ordered a chocolate chip carrot cake that was marginal at best. The restaurant did have a nice quiet ambience (no TV blaring and nice soft lighting) which was good for conversation, which is hard to find these days.
Overall I am very disappointed at the demise of this once great ABQ restaurant.
Best place in Albuquerque for a romantic dinner.
