This was my first time visiting Ranazul. I thought all of the dishes were good. However, the scallops were by far the best scallops I had ever had and I would say a must try. The wine list was good, the cocktail/sangria was ok. I would eat here again, not blown away by the meal but still a great option for a date night out with the hubby.
We tried Ranazul for a belated Valentines dinner. It wasn’t very crowded, which was nice, and the food was good. It is tapas-style, but the hot dishes are larger than the cold ones. 3-4 should be more than enough for most couples! The restaurant was roomy and not too loud, but the bar area is louder. For a wine bar, there didn’t seem to be a very extensive wine list, but the selections were nice wines. Compared to IronBridge, I would say ambience is nicer; food not quite as good, but reasonable and inventive for tapas; wine is good, but not a large list. Do note, there are not many vegetarian/vegan options! Overall, I would recommend
Service was great. We got a new waiter and he was being trained so there was a more experienced waiter working with him, but the new waiter did just fine--actually more than fine, he was pretty great. Not intrusive but there when we needed him, friendly but not overly so.
The food was reliably good, we had the scallops, fried chicken and a flatbread to share. All were good, the scallops were great. I always like this restaurant, it's reliable and they aim to please. If I lived closer I'd go more often and go to their nice bar more often.
We cam on Valentine's Day for my Mother in Law's birthday. We had a better experience previously. The food came out very slowly and some of it came out cold. The temps weren't quite correct on some of the steaks and lamb chops. It was not awful but very mediocre. I would not come back on a holiday or with a large group.
Wonderful food and service!
Food was excellent. Manager provided superb guidance on wine pairing.
Six of us were there Super Bowl Sunday so we almost had the restaurant to ourselves. It was also the last day of Howard County restaurant week. We all took advantage of the special and we were all very happy with our choices. We willing definitely be returning.
Amazing as always! Service and food were outstanding. Thank you Mariano, Krizia, and Hal for the hospitality
This service was the worst. They lost our reservation, to us they buy us a round of drinks then charges us.
It was “restaurant week”, so special priced meals made it a great deal. Food & wine both very good.
Food was tremendous; excellent service
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner during Restaurant week. Excellent service and ambiance. Highlights were the poached pear salad, the salmon, the roasted cod and the open pork empanada. Very nice wine pairing for the 4 course menu also.
Enjoyed our lunch!
The food and service were mediocre , not bad but not good either. Good menu, executed carelessly. Used to be really good, but have slipped a lot. They need to tighten up and regain food standards and not just coast on Happy Hour and Beer
First time to Ranazul. Went for restaurant week. Food was very tasty, especially the 2nd and 3rd courses. We had did, shrimp, chicken, and ribeye, and all were excellent. The Sopa Azteca had a nice spice. The pear salad was okay - some different components for me and I wasn't overwhelmed. The molten chocolate cake was good, but the lemon cake was kind of bland....not very lemony. Service was a little slow, but I'm not sure if that's intentional - to give you time to relax between courses. Our server could have been little more attentive. There was also a glitch with the reservation, as Open Table had registered us as missing our reservation. Not sure if the restaurant forgot something when we checked in, or if the system glitched somewhere. But it got resolved. All in all, a very good experience.
The restaurant is lovely, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious.
One of our local favorites. Always great food, great service and a great time.
Great restaurant week meal! Four generous courses for $30.15. I had a great pear and roquefort salad, coconut shrimp with a nice mango salsa, a great rib eye and dessert. Husband had a tasty cream of mushroom soup, generous piece or roasted salmon with micro greens, the ribeye and dessert. We didn't order drinks. Restaurant was hopping, but our server kept checking back with us and let us know when the kitchen was a little backed up.
A lovely evening out and a great value!
Three of us went on a busy Saturday night during Restaurant week. It was crowded, but we were seated immediately. Service was good. Menu for the week was pre fixe with 4 courses, two of which were Tapas entrees. Salads, rib eye steaks, fish dishes were excellent. The pork dish was not so great. Overall though, it was a good value, and an enjoyable experience.
