Always unpleasant to eat in a room which smells so strongly of meals being prepared/fried. Would be so much nicer if the kitchen odors were not so obvious.
Food was great as usual. Pricing is on the high side, but we enjoyed the evening.
Pleasant quiet setting in Maple Lawn. Excellent service. Quiet which makes conversation easy. The Prix Fixe is delicious bargain with avery good variety of tasty selections. You can't go wrong with any of the choices other than the pork tenderloin which tends to be a bit dry. Don't let that keep you away. The other options are excellent.
Upon my request, a quite table away from the bar was reserved for my party. That gave my party a very pleasant and enjoyable dinner. Thank you.
Excellent restaurant. The food, service, and ambience were wonderful. We will frequent this restaurant often, and it's only about 10-minutes from our home.
The service is always friendly and attentive, topped only by the food, beautifully presented and tasting delightful.
The food lacked taste. My husband and I shared a salmon dish. I had one taste and no more. It tasted like I licked the scales of a fish. It was awful.
Everything was good.
The food and atmosphere was amazing! The service was amazing as well.
Food was delicious. Very Nice environment. Will definitely return.
It was quiet the time we were there, but that was Saturday at around 12:45 when there was only a few people at table. I suspect with all the windows it may get rather noisy when te restaurant is crowded.
All in all, it was a quite pleasant experience.
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always delicious and we’ll-presented; the service always attentive and friendly. My friend and I were seated at a quieter table as requested on Open Table. The sun was very bright and the staff offered to lower the shades without being asked. Jose our waiter made sure we were well taken care of, which involved numerous trips to our table as we were chatting and slow to order. We both went with the Prix Fixe menu and took advantage of the substitution options which was a welcome feature. We wanted to share a bottle of wine and Jose offered to have their wine knowledgeable staff assist. Mariano was so helpful and we enjoyed his recommendation as it went well with the entire meal. Can’t wait to return!
A real gem in the Maple Lawn Area. Well-lit, clean, and new space with panoramic windows is inviting and comfortable. The wine list was extensive and well cultivated (including links to local talent!). Most of the tapas were top notch (the crab orzo was *spectacular*, in specific), with only a few weighing in at merely "well above average." The host staff was a bit under-experienced, but the floor manager more than made up for it with a table correction and attentive service for the rest of our evening. We spent quite a bit of time and money, so the 4/5 rating is only in relation to bill tally. Ranazul is excellent!
Wonderful time... Happy hour drinks and 4 tapas - exquisite!
The woman next to us was talking on her phone on speaker very loudly and no one from the restaurant stopped her. The server was training another server ok how to open a bottle of wine in front of us. She almost stabbed herself. The server also advised us on how much tapas to order and she oversold us. We would up ordering way too much food.
This was a nice vinue for Mother's Day and thr live music was very pleasant and help to set the atmosphere. The drinks was really good and I would suggest them to anyone. The food was good we had the 4 course meal and thr quality was ok for the price. The dessert was awsome, but the main attraction was the ambiance.
Food was very good as well as service. The guitarist was a wonderful added touch that made the evening memorable.
A bit expensive for the suburbs, but a favorite for special dinners.
Food was great. However, service fell short of the mark. My wife and I shared the 4 course pre fix meal. I asked no less than 3 times to bring a second plate. 1st attempt was a failure, waiter brought a bread plate. This happened 3 times before the waiter goot it right. Share a meal. Bring a dinner plate. Not rocket science. Secondly, the waiter would disappear for 15 to 20 minutes. Water glasses were not fille d untille the end . Lastly, manager never came around to greet the guests. The back of house was great . The front of house failed. I attribute this to a lack of management.
Enjoyed a yummy pre Mother’s Day dinner with my honey and his family. The ambiance, service, champagne, Rose’ and our meals and desserts were absolutely delicious! Our server Jackson was very professional, nice and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and will return.
Beautiful restaurant with lovely atmosphere and great service. Food was decent, but not outstanding.
Ranazul was awesome... again. We haven't been there for a few months. Saw a review or two that made it sound like they went downhill. I don't think so at all. Food and service were both spot on. Two of us had the salmon, scallops potatoes with truffle oil. Olives, fried manchego cheese drizzled with honey. All items were flavorful and high quality.
Food was good, with a surprisingly wide variety of interesting and very flavorful vegetarian tapas, in addition to the more typical meat and poultry and fish. Particularly good were the Patatas Bravas and the Potatoes Gratin; also good was the Bruschetta Rojo. Good service: attentive, and quick.
Dinner reservation was for six people, but we added one to our group late. Ranazul accommodated us easily and graciously.
Gone downhill. Floors were dirty with a water spill that they never cleaned up while we were there. Food was so-so. Worst, for me, was getting reg. coffee instead of the decaf I ordered. Couldn't fall asleep that night. Wouldn't go back.
Also, had tried for 7:00 res. with both Open Table and Ranazul. Couldn't get so we ate at 6:30. Yet, at 7:00, you could have driven a truck through the restaurant.
I used to eat here a lot, but the food is not as good as it once was. Unfortunate.
We had a pleasant dining experience.
Resurrection Sunday brunch after church.
We frequent Ranazul several times a year for special occasions or just a good meal. They never disappoint. We often select from the pre fixe menu and leave very satisfied.
I lowered the rating for service on this visit because, while our server was courteous, hospitable and professional, he was slow when it came to responsiveness. When the customer requests additional syrup, that’s not something that should take five minutes or more. Or more beverage, etc.
We have had so many good experiences at Ranazul, we will certainly be back!
I have eaten at Ranazul many times since it opened. Last Saturday the waitress very obviously had not been trained. She knew nothing about the menu or bar offerings. Two of the meals at our table were not prepared correctly. And it seemed that the staff were more interested in socializing amongst themselves than providing service. While I will probably go back to Ranazul myself (it’s very convenient), I will not recommend it to any friends until the food and service return to their previous high standards.
We had a lovely meal at Ranazul with long-time friends. Every item we ordered was very tasty with unique flavors and presentations. The only issue was the music, it was too loud for easy conversation, more like bar loud as opposed to dining room loud. We asked four different employees to please lower it before we were able to converse in normal tones. Other than that, it was an excellent meal.
Food was VERY good. Service was OK. Extremely disappointed they removed the AREPAS from the menu. Was a favorite go to & one of their best items.
I really didn’t like the food there, very average and price was high for the food we get. I won’t go back
This is a repeat visit for us (after two prior visits where we enjoyed stellar meals and service), as we recommended Ranazul to friends who wanted to try it. We were four couples, but the server was attentive and, as usual, delicious and beautifully presented, from appetizer through dessert. Rather than an entree, we each ordered several small plates that arrived at well-times intervals allowing us the savor each item. Excellent!
We love this restaurant. We’ve been going there for about 3 years and it never disappoints. The tequila shrimp is one of my favorite meals, along with the rib eye and molten chocolate cake. Mariano is our preferred server, but everyone else is kind and friendly!
My husband and I had a wonderful date night at Ranazul and had exceptional service provided by JR (bartender). He was very attentive and checked on us several times to ensure everything was to our liking. The ceviche and salmon avocado sashimi and mussels were excellent. Kudos to the chef for the food. Thank you for a good night.
Nice restaurant with very good food and service in a bit of a restaurant desert when it comes to fine dining. Good choice for a date or a celebration.
We had a wonderful experience at Ranazul, but I think it's important to understand this is not a typical high end restaurant. There are limited choices with entrees, although all the food is well prepared and delicious. if you are looking for selection and signature dishes this is probably not your place. But if you are looking for amazing tapas (there must be 40 of them) to be enjoyed with family and friends, in a relaxed atmosphere with extensive wine list and attentive service staff then this is your place. Our dinner had a party atmosphere, versus the typical app, entrée, desert, please come back again.
The server spilled the liquid from the steamed mussels on my husband’s lap, and the baked pear dessert had some spicy cheese from one of the other deserts that had dripped on the serving dish during baking. Altogether, not terribly impressive, we probably won’t dine there again.
We dined at Ranazul on a Saturday evening in March. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the hostess greeted us immediately and took us to our seat. Since we have not been to Ranazul since 2017 (primarily because the menu rarely changes), we were immediately struck by how run down the dining room appears, with dirty, worn carpets, bare tabletops scratched and in need of refinishing and chairs in a similar state of disrepair. Our waiter came to the table fairly quickly to introduce himself and take our drink order. Once the wine arrived, we ordered six tapas, including the salmon avocado sashimi (best of the night), the camaron al tequila (always excellent), crispy chicken (very good), and the arepas (the usual presentation but the arepa was soggy and there was too much of either nutmeg or allspice overpowering the seafood). The last two tapas were major disappointments. First, the fried oysters were tiny and sparse (more breading than oyster, four on the plate) and are now served on pedestrian creamed spinach instead of the excellent corn salsa of the past. And last, the lamb chops, ordered medium, arrived well done and were tough and chewy. While the accompaniments were good, the lamb was a major disaster and most certainly not worth $20. Given that the core menu has not changed in many years , the execution of three of the six tapas was not up to past standards, and the ambiance was ruined by the shabby dining room appearance, we will more than likely take Ranazul out of our dining rotation. It's just not worth the price when there are so many better options within 10 miles of this restaurant.
Ranazul is our favorite place to dine.
We love the small plates and we brought some friends for their first time too
