Food was good. Enjoyed the view and venue. Server, Linda was very attentive and friendly.
Very nice dinner on an extremely windy night. Our vegans enjoyed the vegan meatloaf. Mussels were great as was the filet & the fish with saffron risotto. Portebello delicious but a bit over cooked.
Such a beautiful place & view but the wind took away some of the ambiance.
This restaurant has a beautiful view of the desert and mountains. We were here for lunch and the food is very good, but not spectacular. Sitting on the patio, the view makes it worth the trip.
Although the green golf course and tropical plants are a bit out of place in this California desert, it is undeniably beautiful and sets the stage for a relaxing evening. The food was quite good, if simply prepared; the service friendly, if a bit slow. The only fine dining choice in the area.
Outdoor seating was wonderful, with a beautiful view. Service and food were very good. Would recommend to anyone
A new ce surprise. The room was lovely, the service was first rate and the food was very good. The bread as hot and excellent, always a good first sign. We would have returned the next night if the restaurant had not been fully booked.
The food was outstanding. We really appreciated the chef bending over backwards to satisfy our diet issues. We got so many delicious vegetables- we were thrilled. Everything about it was perfect. Thank you to the entire team.
Scott Cowan was most helpful getting our 3 tee times. With the exception of the wind, everyone enjoyed their golf and dining experience. And, we knew about the wind, so not any reflection on the course and overall day!
The service was very slow. Waited 15 min once seated to even order a drink. Otherwise the food and ambience were terrific.
Lunch on the patio on a warm sunny day in March, looking at lush greenery, wildflowers in bloom and waterfalls. What could be better? Great food. Great service.
Although we were warned that they were “incredibly busy”, the inside dining room was empty and it still took us 20 min to put in a drink order, and over one hour to get our food. The server was very nice but not well trained. We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine, which took another 15 min to get after the order. It was served warm. They didn’t have more than 6 champagne flutes, although our party was 8. Our food, when it finally came, was cold, every single dish. The temperature did not improve the taste. I would never recommend this restaurant because rather than recognizing these problems, they seemed to think that it was acceptable to premptively tell us they were busy, then never addressed the delays in beverage or food service. It was mildly pathetic, the whole experience. However it was very disappointing to pay for a cold, slow meal.
Excellent service and delicious food.
Good food alternatives are a bit of a challenge in Borrego Springs, so the al fresco lunch we had at Rams Hill was a real pleasure. The outdoor deck looks out over the entire valley, including their handsome gardens and waterfalls. The food was good, the service attentive, and the location superb. Note: Rams Hill is a good course 5-6 miles out of town - but worth the trip.!
We sat for 25 minutes with not one person coming to our table to serve. Meanwhile all other tables around us were being waited on. Not even water was brought to us. We had to ask for service. Then we waited more time. Once we did receive service we only received 2 menus for 5 people. We asked for additional menus but never received them. Had to ask for water, wine list, etc.... This is our go to restaurant in Borrego Springs. This is the first time we have had this experience.
We are not normally a high maintenance group, but we seemed to be that night. All of the staff was very gracious and kind for us to be changing our minds so often. The food was great, the service even better. I can highly recommend.
NetaW, We definately enjoyed having you and your group here at Rams Hill. Thank you for your review and the 5 stars.
We Had reservations for 4 pm. They do not have tables for 4 by the windows so we had to sit in a middle section. It was not busy, but the table had not been wiped down, so we had to wait for our server to do it. My sister and I ordered a hamburger medium and it came very raw on the inside. My sister sent hers back. It didn’t come again until the rest of us were done. The extra pickle had been taken off the plate, the plate was greasy, and the hamburger was still barely eatible. My Dad’s sea bass was mushy and had black meat on the bottom. We ordered the French fries extra crispy and they were very good (hence the 2 stars). I wanted a beer and had a hard time getting our server. I had to ask the hostess to get her. We had a hard time getting water refills as well. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Sharen, thank you for the feedback, Please feel free to reach out to the FOH Manager so we can better serve our customers both Returning and new.
Clearly this was an off night for everyone. The shortribs were salty and stringy. The polenta and vegetables were smothered in the sauce for the shortribs so you couldn’t even taste them. The burger was mediocre. The fries were the only success. The staff needed lots more training... didn’t ask where we wanted to sit even though the place was practically empty and a window seat was available; brought the wrong order; brought the wrong bill, etc. It was hard to understand why this place gets good reviews.
MsFoodie, thank you for the feedback.
Rams Hill provides an enjoyable and relaxed meal. The food was good and the ambience was just what you would expect at a Golf Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to be with friends for a very fine meal and evening.
crmacv, Thank you for your visit and your review.
Have taken visitors to Borrego Springs many times over past 2 years, just learned of
Rams Hill and we went there for lunch. It is wonderful, ate outside, fantastic view of
mountains with delicious, beautifully prepared food. Highly recommend it.
Retiredlady, Thank you for visiting Rams Hill we definately look forward to you returning.
Yes--we are on the patio, it was beautiful, and the panchos were the nicest touch.
Beautiful setting on the patio at sunset. As it gets a little cold, the server turned on the heater and offered blankets. The service was top notch, the food was wonderful, and the recommended house wine was a great value. We greatly enjoyed our meal at Rams Hill with friends, and will return every time we are in town.
Thank You for your review and the 5 stars. we will look forwart to your return next time you are in town.
Wonderful food and our server, Maria, was just excellent. Both of us had fish dinner (salmon and opa) and both cooked to perfection. Have been here on another Borrego and will go again for sure!!
Kathleen, Thank you for the review and the 5 stars on Maria you server. we look forward to seeing you again in the near future.
It is what it is, good food in a golf clubhouse setting, better than most golfclub eateries. Solid menu, good wines by the glass at very fair prices. A pleasant evening
food was good-kitchen took awhile--they were doing construction right next to the outside dining which was very noisy and disruptive
RogerM, Thank you for the feedback on your visit, i would like to encourage you to come back and enjoy our Full Swing Enclosed Golf Simulator which was the reason for the construction during your last visit.
We had never been to Rams Hill before and we loved it. The food was delicious, the service exceptional...it was our anniversary and we couldn't be more happier. We will be back...
Gary and Shauna Jacobs

Wonderful views Food was a pleasant surprise. Overall, pleasant
Thank you for your review and we definately look forward to your return visit
Couldn't have been a more beautiful setting, and right in our own backyard. Best margarita ever!
Prices were high but the quality and taste of the food was worth the price. Will definitely eat here again.
Thank you for the 5 star review, we look forward to you joining us again.
Best ribeye steak I have ever eaten.
Thank you for the review and the 5 stars we look forward to you Dining with us again.
Overall service was slow. Our server was good but we sat too long after ordering our wine. Then the food took a long time to be served. We asked why and the answer was the people around us were here before us. Well, we had made reservations back in November 2018 for our Valentines dinner.
Italian night is delicious and a great deal. Great service and ambiance.
Thank you Michael for the Review and the 5 stars on our Italian Night begining in March we will be having BBQ Mondays and hope you will join us for that as well.
Many items listed on the menu were not available when ordered. Food was mainstream but priced as premium. Service was a bit slow. Would not recommend.
The burger is excessive too difficult to manage tasty but very messy to eat.
Thank you for your feed back and the 4 stars. i will definately pass your feedback to our chef, i am very glad you felt it was tasty.
Played golf and wanted a nice dinner , was recommended by the hotel we stayed at - nice cozy spot on patio
Thank you for your review PeteC we look forward to seeing you again.
Our server was very attentive and it was a nice touch that they threw in a special dessert with a candle for or wedding anniversary. The process of reserving a table was really easy and it got us a good spot.
David Thank you for your review and allowing us at Rams Hill to be a part of your Special Day. We look forward to your future visits.
Excellent food, friendly service and beautiful setting.
ShawnM Thank you for the 5 stars we look forward to seeing you in the future.
Executive Chef, Jeremy Manley prepares delicious colorful meals. I've enjoyed the fish of the day, Opah, and the Filet Mignon. Both presented beautifully and tasted equally as good.
Recommended by our hotel receptionist. FABULOUS view of the desert & golf course. Made reservations at 4 so we wouldn’t miss the beautiful sunset. Wished we had gone at 3 to sit on the patio for a cocktail & to have longer to enjoy the view. The food was great too. We all had the lightly grilled salmon over a bed of saffron risotto mixed with shrimp & salad. Each couple actually split a dinner & salad and was perfect. We’ll be back. Wish there was a hotel here.
Food and service were great. But was disappointed as I booked the reservation expecting to have a festive Christmas Eve dinner decorated for the holidays, but it looked like any other night. Also, the parking lot and entry of the restaurant was poorly lit (expected some sparkly lights).
This is one of our favorite restaurants & clearly the best in Borrego. However, on this occasion they missed the mark somewhat. My roasted chicken was undercooked & was returned to the kitchen to be finished. Once it was served it was acceptable. Although the manager kindly offered to compensate us for the inconvenience (which was unncecessary) it was not reflected on the final bill. As always the setting is superb. The weather was a little chilly so we dined inside--it was quiet probably because it is almost Christmas.
