Rams Head Tavern - Annapolis Ratings and Reviews
Our good for brunch was good. However our waitress was just awful. She commented several times about how stupid she was and only proved herself correct. Had to repeat each order multiple times, kept coming back asking questions about our order, ignored the need for coffee and soda refills.
Nice place to visit for dinner and a show. It usually runs us $150 for the evening but that is to be expected. Too bad they do not have a Season Ticket Special where you get a 40% discount for a package of 6 show throughout the season. Something like the Hippodrome has.
We enjoyed a very nice birthday meal prior to attending a jazz concert. Our food was just as we ordered, and our service was excellent. There were many healthy items on the menu
I don't like having to ask for bread or rolls when ordering entrees, and then being charged $3 for it I think when you're spending over $60 for meals for 2 that bread should be included, not an added charge.
I've eaten here a number of times, always just before a show at the adjoining Rams Head on Stage (they have a discount package and also walk you through to your concert seats afterward without going outside). The food is generally decent to above-par pub food. This time, we had the worst server(s) (regular and trainee, apparently) who first screwed up the drink order, then I had to chase her down to place our order, then after asking twice about our appetizers, they were delivered at the same time as our entrees. I had their lobster special, which is a deal at $20 for a 1 1/2 lb steamer, but the corn was cold, and I was given two pats of butter to cover both an ear of corn and a baked potato. I got shade thrown when I asked for more and it took extremely long to get it (at which point both the potato AND the corn were cold). My husband's appetizer was soup and he had fish and chips as an entree. Having both delivered together meant one or both would cool off while the other was consumed. The wait staff seemed baffled when he asked for vinegar for the F&C. Although we arrived at 6:15pm in order to finish ahead of our 7:30pm concert, we barely made it in time and that was because we both left parts of our dinner due to the 45 min. delay in bringing the food. While the manager ultimately got involved and did take 50% off our check (we also had to fight to get the parking endorsement, which was part of the package), I will think long and hard before dining here again before a show. There are a number of other good restaurants within a block walk of RH On Stage.
It was a disaster from start to finish...tables not clean, no silverware, out of items, food was overcooked and cold, waitresses were overwhelmed and untrained. Opened bottle of wine before bringing it to the table, and then brought the wrong wine and still charged us for it. Food sounded great but did not match the description. Save your money and go anywhere else; there are lots of great choices on West Street!
I enjoyed the Duck dinner and the peanut butter/chocolate dessert. They were very good. Was attending an event at Rams Head Stage and wanted to enjoy dinner before going. Greeted timely upon arrival and the dinner was served quickly. Reservations with OpenTable was a breeze!
When ordering a Baja Bird Wrap, I asked if a small salad could be substituted for the fries. The waiter said yes. I then was charged an extra $4 for this 'substitution'. A small and perhaps insignificant detail but one that left a negative impression to an otherwise enjoyable lunch.
The service was very very slow and not very knowledgeable about their menu. There were 6 of us dining and it took over 15 minutes to get any drinks out to the table - ice waters were not even brought over. When we received the drinks, there was a bug in one of them. We had 2 servers for some reason. The restaurant was not even busy. When we received our food, the chili was cold. Most of the dinner entrees taste okay, but definitely not something I'd wait for again.
It was to be a special date night with my husband. The service was very poor and unorganized The servers seemed uninterested in us as guests. They gave us lunch menus and it was after 5pm and once they did take our orders no dinner rolls were presented. I ordered the mussel with linguine and had to send them back because the mussels were over cooked. My husband didn't make a big deal out of his food but I noticed he didn't finish it either. Later he did admit that his burger was dry. This is our second time eating here but this may be our last.
Food was good but unfortunately our waiter was inept and inexperienced. He had issues with several of his tables' customers. He even brought a check to our table before we ordered that belonged to another table.
We spoke with a manager who apologized and took 30% off of our check but it was not sufficient to make up for the waiter's incompetence.
Our waiter was very apologetic about having to use a substitute in my cocktail but it came out quickly and tasty. My salad itself was great but the chicken I added to it was disappointingly cold and dry. I wish I hadn't added it because the salad really didn't need it.
Made reservation for a party of 1, arrived and they attempted to give me a table at the busiest part of the restaurant. After getting a table the waiter was very pleasant and took my order. I order the fried chicken special; when it arrived it looked and smelled awesome. Took one bite of the DRYED out chicken breast and two bites out of the cold nasty tasting mashed potatoes and called it a night. The waiter did not question or even ask how my meal was, I think he could sense that I was not happy. I paid the bill and headed to the concert next door. THIS FOOD SHOULD NOT BE SERVED TO ANIMALS. Total gross. Their chef needs fired.....
Enjoyed dinner before the Mac McAnally show at Rams Head On Stage on July 29. Took advantage of the "performance package," which included a complimentary beer in the tavern after the show. Great location. Food was good. Staff was super pleasant and attentive.
We enjoyed the Monday night dinner special which included a 1 1/2 lb. lobster, a house salad, corn on the cob, and a baked potato, all for $20. The menu offered lots of other dinner options, as well as appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. The food was well prepared and the service was attentive. The only negative was the sound of the live music on the other side of the wall. Next time we'll ask to be seated away from the wall that separates the restaurant from the performance space located next door.
The food was great, as always, and the service was fantastic. The jalapeno house dressing is to die for. We get it with just about everything. We were there for a concert, and they are great about making sure you're ready to be seated when the venue doors open, and if you're there super early, they don't mind if you take a little extra long sitting at your table after the meal until the doors open! I always love the Rams Head for dinner and a show.
