Rams Head Tavern - Annapolis
The room we were in looked outdated and in need of refresh. The waitress was solid but the kitchen was so slow! The table next to us and behind us were complaining about length of time to get their food and sandwiches. Fortunately for us we were not in a rush. When the food arrived it was fair at best. My husband ordered the stir fry which lacked flavor, my son received a burnt cheeseburger (even the cheese was burnt), and I had a decent pasta dish. Overall, we’d not venture back next time in Annapolis.
The service was slow and apathetic. The food was marginal pub food.
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner. Excellent experience, excellent atmosphere, excellent service.
The S’mores Sundae is the best ever!
Did not have a good experience. Service was very slow and the food was average. In the past, service was very good along with the food. Maybe it was an off day.
My favorite venue to see live shows. Pre-show dinner is solid, adequate variety to find a taste for each of our groups palates. good to generous portions. beer selection is eclectic. Overall a great value for a bite to eat before a show. If I lived closer, would consider coming just for a meal.
My wife's mahi mahi was overcooked, but the manager deducted 30% for her entree price. Also, my lobster was a little, maybe undercooked, but still OK.
Good food. Pear salad very fresh with tasty toasted cashews. Very generous portions. One suggestion is to serve the bread warm. Very nice waitstaff.
The food was very good but the service was slow. However, that seemed to be more a case that the restaurant was understaffed than it being a waitstaff issue.
Came for casual business lunch - was perfect! Great Cobb salad - generous portions all around. Great atmosphere in heart of Annapolis. Only downside - give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes for parking. Normal everyday downtown Annapolis parking issues.....
Love this place! A little disappointed that they no longer serve my favorite beer battered shrimp, however, waitress suggested the appetizer shrimp as a substitute.
Perfect as always. You really can't beat their Performance Package when attending a show next door. Great Meal, (at with a discount) walked to your seats from your dinner table. No waiting outside to get into the concert venue. and a Discount on your parking too! What's not to like.
We were there for a concert. We took advantage of the $5 burger night. Burgers were done perfectly, but the charcoal flavor was overpowering. Don't think that I'd choose that, again. Menu has lots of interesting options.
We were unhappy with the hostess. We made a reservation, yet were told they were overbooked. She initially put us in the "dungeon" under a cold window with an ac unit in it. I went back upstairs and said that it was unacceptable. She offered a two top right up next to the large screen. Why we didn't go there in the first place I have no idea!
Waiter was weeded out, but kind and attentive as best as he could be. We tipped him 100%!
One other note...I walked past another server on my way to the restroom between acts. She is complaining about a customer to the bartender who apparently wasn't eating fast enough for her. So unprofessional! in front of a customer (me!)
Dine there more for convenience of concert events but not impressed by the overall dining experience.
Good place to ear dinner before a Rams Head show. Complimentary on stage experience was a nice touch before our first show there.
Wonderful to have lobster night the night we were there! Great meal. Server was extremely busy - probably could have used some more help. Great dinner before show.
Always the go-to when attending a show at Rams Head. Specials are always a great choice and if you're not that hungry the Pub Fare will satisfy even the diminished appetite.
We had a great time! This was the first time we have been for brunch, and we will definitely be back!!
only downside was there were a lot of parties in the main room, which we refer, so it would have been noisy. Thus, we sat in the room next to the bar and it was drafty. Otherwise, good as usual.
Quick, casual dinner before a show. Great service, food very good. Really nice pickle chips.
We wish the show room would expand their menu a bit, as it’s hard to get out of work, fight rush hour traffic and make it to the Tavern in time for a proper dinner before the show. We’d love the convenience of heading straight to the show room and dining there, but the menu is too sparse. Perhaps in the future... for now we’ll just rush and then enjoy a nice meal in the Tavern.
Note: if you’re going to a show, avoid the parking garage recommended by the Rams Head. It’s often a bottleneck and you can wait a half hour to get out if you’re not parked nose out on the street level.
It works out well dining at Ram’s Head and then going to the concert. There is a good variety on the menu, food and service were very good.
Regular visitor to the dinner and shows. The food quality is up and down over the past several years. This visit the food was above average.
Excellent experience. The complimentary On Stage experience was everything that they promised. Would definitely repeat. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the tasting flight and burger! Tentative service
We enjoyed another Birthday Brunch at Rams Head on New Year's Day and the service and food were great. Complimentary Mimosa's Were a Hit. We had good service and tasty options.
Classic bar/pub fare. Good and consistent.
We went out to have a casual New Year’s Eve dinner and were not disappointed. We sat at the bar before our table was ready and enjoyed the atmosphere. We were seated early and enjoyed the food and service. We would definitely go back again for another night out.
New Year’s Eve
Loved it as always!
We enjoyed the ambiance and the accommodations. The food was fine. The nachos were good and the salad was made with really curly lettuce that fights eating. The waiter was a mess. He mixed up our drink orders and got confused about our dinner order. Before we ordered, we asked him to put "these 3 on 1 bill and these 2 on another". He really messed up the checks and he never got them right. The music was our reason for attending. We were seated behind 2 posts and the sitting area was too small for 3 people. I purchased the tickets months ahead so don't know why we had bad seats.
Salmon came out cold along with a burger. They did remake all the cold food and didn’t charge us for dessert and took 50 dollars off the bill so they tried to make it right. Food was average I wouldn’t say anything fantastic.
Excellent service! We were readily attended to and the speed in the arrival of our order was much faster than what can even reasonably be expected. Food overall was very good and the beer was good too. I think it’s locally brewed. Will definitely go back.
Fantastic service, our server was very attentive-food decent but not anything stellar. We shared the Brie fritters (I think that’s what they are called) which were tasty. Hubby had nachos and I had a burger which were good-not great-but would order again. We were seeing a show next door, so very convenient and they walked us over to our table afterward, so that’s a nice touch.
Great service and food priced just right
Service was extremely slow took 20 minutes to get a beer. Then 1 hour for apps and another 30 minutes for meals.
Christmas evening dinner. Food was excellent. Service very good under difficult circumstances. Great time!
Yes, i would definitely recommend Rams Head. The waiter, Curran, could not have been nice. The food was great, and I loved the ambiance.
I have dined at ram's Head before and had an enjoyable experience, so I was expecting the same. We did wait longer than normal for our food, two of the plates appeared to have sat in the window for a bit. It appeared the kitchen was short-handed, which isn't too surprising since it was Christmas Day. The staff did their best to keep everyone updated on back up. I will be upfront here and state I presently work in a commercial kitchen( In Ocean City MD). I know how quickly it can turn when you are busy and short-handed. I do not hold anything against any of the staff who showed up and did all they could to provide a good experience for the customer. I overheard more than one complaint from customers, from my point of view management was doing a decent job keeping staff focused. The team that worked Christmas deserves to know that they are appreciated. I do not expect to be in town for Christmas next year to see how it goes but I will dine with Rams Head in Annapolis when I visit this summer. Probably more than once.
Thanks for being open. Divorced Father's choices are extremely limited on Holidays.
Our waiter was very attentive , but not hovering. The food was delicious and when we made suggestions to him of what we would like to see on the menu, he cheerfully said the chefs like to hear patrons suggestions. It really made us feel valued.
Being escorted to our seats in the entertainment section is always fun. Just wish the wait staff would be more attentive in bringing the bill in a timely manner after serving drinks/food.
I truly appreciate the validation for parking at Gott's garage, too.
It was a very good night out from beginning to end. I would truly recommend Rams Head to friends.
We came to Rams Head Tavern to celebrate my daughter's birthday during Sunday brunch. The service was very attentive and the food was really delicious. Brunch offerings were great and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend taking the family here for Sunday brunch. As my family was leaving we were already trying to figure out when we could get together and do this again! Also, almost everyone in the staff that we passed on the way out wished my daughter a happy birthday...I mean really, does it get any better than that! Looking forward to coming back soon!
