Rams Head Tavern - Annapolis
For over 25 years, Rams Head has been an award-winning favorite serving creative tavern fare. Rams Head offers an outstanding happy hour, a legendary beer selection, and extraordinary live music 7 nights a week. Whether in one of the cozy dining rooms, the historic pub, or on the Wisteria-covered patio, you'll see why so many Annapolitans consider Rams Head their second home.
Always an awesome experience! Love the pre-show option. Great food. Great concert venue.
The service was wonderful and the food and drinks were tasty! Enjoyed our time there prior to the concert next door.
amazing waiter and very fast service, best food i have had in a long time
I think if we sat in the bar area it would have been more fun. We at in the back restaurant and even though there were lots of people around it was boring. Everything was good but not really my kind of place.
The food was good and the prices were really reasonable. With happy hour discounts on food and drink, you can't go wrong. Our waitress was attentive but we felt no pressure to hurry up and give up our table even as the restaurant filled up around us. It was a nice extra to be escorted to our show seats without having to go outside in the cold after our meal. Definitely would recommend the dinner and show deal to out of the area friends, as it makes everything so easy with one stop.
Very good spot for your meal right before - or after - a show at the Rams Head On Stage venue. While limited food is served inside the concert venue, the bar restaurant has a much more diverse- and more substantive menu with many comfort food items, seafood, and desserts. I don't think anyone would have trouble picking out a meal which includes burgers and steaks as well. My wife had a chicken dish which turned out great and I did Shepherd's Pie which was well prepared and tasty. Tables were nicely situated, comfortable and the entire place had a nice, busy vibe with patrons waiting to enter the upcoming show or winding down from attending the early show. Good place for a night out in Annapolis.
we love Ramshead and go as often as we can. I was disappointed with my meal and brought it to the attention of the waitress, who basically just apologized and that was that. I got the special which surf and turf enchiladas. My concern was that the lobster had a bad fishy taste to it, to the point that I had to pick it out. The steak was fine. Usually we are never disappointed, but I was real unhappy with the meal. The show was fabulous and all the servers are always attentive. Lastly, I ordered the creme brulet for dessert. My favorite is just plain creme brulet. This was served with raspberry sauce over it with whipped cream and berries which was fine. I just was not expecting the raspberry sauce and wound up not eating most of it. My husband finished it....lol. Just a few things that I was not happy with.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Rams Head Tavern Annapolis has become our go-to spot for family get-togethers. Yummy food, superb wait-staff, nice, rustic-y ambiance. The enclosed, heated courtyard is handy for the smokers. Tyler was just an EXCELLENT waiter, but honestly, they're all really friendly & helpful. I don't like going near downtown Annapolis, but I will go for Rams Head!
We find the pre-show dinner program convenient for all shows at Rams Head on Stage.
We had a lovely dinner here before the TUSK (Fleetwood Mac Tribute) show on New Year's Eve. The servers were attentive and cheery, the food was traditional and fine -- just what we expect from the Ram's Head Tavern. We felt well-attended and well-fed, and then our server escorted us over to the concert venue where we had a terrific New Year's Eve celebration. The package that pairs dinner with concert is great (second time we used it and we're doing it again for the Greg Brown concert).
We'll always come back to Ram's Head and have come to prefer it as a venue to the Birchmere, which is also customary stop on the tours of groups/performers that show at Ram's Head. Ram's Head is cozier, with closer access to the performers, and having the outdoor facilities for al fresco dinners in warmer weather just adds to the charm.
Lovely, cozy tavern with a great menu. Plenty of gluten-free options for one of the group that has celiacs and can't have gluten. All the food was delicious.
Great, reasonably priced restaurant with attached music venue. Great shows all year round!
A staple of downtown Annapolis, consistently good food and beer.
We were in DC area for Christmas and searched for restaurant and via Open Table chose Rams Head. Food was tasty and served quickly. Service was outstanding
We will try it again
I always have a great time here. The show I attended to see Dwele was great. The food was great in the restaurant. but the service was very slow. The service we received was disappointing though. For nights when there are shows more servers should be on hand. Thanks.
I had glazed salmon that was plentiful and very tasty!
Went for a concert at Ram's Head On Stage and took advantage of the offer for 10% off food, partial credit on parking and being escorted to our seats. As well as an after show drink in the cellar. Great place to meet with friends and/or see a show. It was a lot of fun and our waitress - Alissa? - did a wonderful job!
For the 3rd time in 2 years we found the service slow
And I was not because it was busy on the restaurant side.
Food was ok, but overall we feel after coming here for 10 years that the quality has dropped significantly
We like to support our local businesses but I think this was the last time we will eat and Rams Head Annapolis
Had the concert package. Service was great, food very good. Got us done and seated for the performance just in time.
Very nice ambiance and great food!
Had some guests in town and needed guaranteed seating for 6 on a Saturday night. Happy that Rams Head allows that on Open Table.
The pub at the door is very cool. Small and quaint Annapolis feel. We were seated way in the back of the dining room which is huge for Annapolis. Food was average and service was standard Annapolis comfort food. It’s a safe bet.
I will for sure be back to check out the pub up front.
Thanks for accepting reservations during Midnight Madness event in Annapolis. Helpful to be able to plan a time to eat and still visit the shops without waiting to be seated. Glad you were busy....
The food was outstanding. We started with the crab dip which came with a hot baguette. Both were delicious. We ordered the salmon BLT and the “Jammin Salmon” - grilled salmon over mash potatoes with shrimp and crab meat. Wonderful and abundant in flavor. The service was top notch.
I had dinner before the Peter White Holiday show. I arrived for dinner w 30 minutes to spare before the show began. I mentioned to the wait staff, Dae & Briyanna that I had to get my meal pretty quick in order to make the show on time. They were EXCELLENT!!! The meal was terrific: crab cake sandwich, fries, chili and the beer special of the day. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace on an extremely cold day. Sometimes we "lone diners" are overlooked. However, the staff members were extremely attentive and I appreciate that. The Rams Head Tavern ensured my dining experience was memorable. The Performance Package is an excellent value for the money with food and drink that is really, really good!
I had seen mixed reviews of the place but was pleasantly suprised all around, went for a Josh Ritter Concert and ate at the tavern prior to the concert.. food was basic pub food but good for what it is ... service was incredibly friendly and efficient.. and venue for a concert was very good!!! didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house, the waitstaff was present without being pushy sound systems was good, and intimacy with the performer was one of the best Ive been to... I came down from NYC to meet up with an old friend and would definitely make the trip again to see a performance!!!
Sunday brunch was mediocre, both food and service. Waiter was really rather inattentive, and twice we flagged down passing staff for assistance. Food was edible, but not fantastic. Three meals came with eggs, per the menu. Waiter never asked how we wanted the eggs, so we all got scrambled eggs, but they were dry. Omelet with sausage and bacon was made more like a sandwich, with full strips of bacon and a sausage patty inside a folded egg. Crab cake had no real flavor. My niece ordered a crab dip appetizer, which was excellent, but came with a small loaf of bread, not large enough for 4 people to share.
Good food, good service, great show after dinner! thanks
Don’t go for thanksgiving dinner it was not worth the $28 pp. All of the dinner was very bland. We were seated down in the basement right by the door so every time someone came in we got a breeze of freezing air. I won’t do this again. I’ll make my own good and freeze all the leftovers....the only thing we liked were appetizers we got. You would think for $28 a plate it would taste better.
Food arrived promptly but wasn't very hot. I had to ask twice for tarter sauce and by the time it arrived the food was almost cold. The food was tasty.
I especially enjoyed this restaurant for the VIP treatment associated with the connected entertainment venue. We had dinner then we were escorted to our seats by our delightful waitress.
Exceeded expectations on qualitity, service and value. We went to eat before a concert and received their pre-concert special package. It was definitely worthwhile and we'll do it again.
Food was delicious, but second visit in a row that we thought the service was sub-par
Had purchased tickets to see a show and received an email about dining there. Made reservations and the food is awesome. Had their Roasted Salmon and it was wonderful. The service was great. I arrived an hour earlier than planned and was still able to be seated. Will make a trip to Annapolis for this place.
Good crabcakes and beer.
Took friends for their first time for dinner and a show. Hung around in the bar after the show. Listened to a local trio performing. Had a drink and a chat with Paul Thorn. Everyone had a great time !
Monday night is 1.5 pound lobster night! The lobster dinner was wonderful and the service was great. Good value!
Joe was a great server - very pleasant and accommodating. We really liked the place - great atmosphere, good music, great food. What else do you need??
This was my first "premier" dining pre-concert on a Sunday. Much to my delight is the Sunday Bloody Mary Bar - $10 for unlimited drinks! It will not be my last. Great service from our waiter, Joe. And the concert was fantastic. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house - and having a SEAT is what bring me back time and time again. And, to add to my enjoyment, there was an art show right outside! What a delightful day spent in beautiful Annapolis!
We typically dine here before performances on the concert side. Always a decent meal, good service and no lines to get in to the concert. Well worth it if you ask me!
It was a very busy night for them due to concert. Service not great, food was okay. But will definitely try it again.
