Indoors Needs some TLC, painting (eiling), etc. We missed the piano.
We waited 45 minutes for our reservation, service was rather slow and food was not prepared as requested
We celebrated our Christmas Lunch here and it was great.
The food and service were great !
As always we had a wonderful birthday dinner at Rams Head Inn. The food was superb and the service was wonderful. We look forward to dining there again soon!!!
This restaurant has definitely slipped from its previous highest quality standards, demonstrated by the number of vacant tables at 7:30 PM. Although it was raining, the valet services was unavailable resulting in a fairly long walk in the rain. The coat check was not attended but the door was closed making the area not open for self use until someone did arrive after a period of time. The major component of a salad (balsamic dressing and corn) was not provided until the salad was almost eaten (it was a hot lettuce salad and we could not wait for someone to show up. Menu items were not available. one of the entrees served was not edible. The veal was drowned in a gravy while the veal was totally undercooked and not even able to be easily cut with a knife (good veal should be fork cut). For many, many years this was the go to restaurant for a special occasion, now it has become mediocre at best
It is a very relaxing, enjoyable experience. Food was okay, but not great. Service was excellent.
Stopped in the other night for our anniversary. Hadn't been there in quite a few years and nothing has changed, which is good and bad. The food was top notch and other than the guy who greeted us when we walked in (he was a bit snippy), the service was excellent. We split the carpacio which was good. My wife enjoyed her duck and I had the fish special (barramundi; had never heard of that kind of fish) and it was really good. Apple empanadas were OK. Service was typical Ram's Head; classic, efficient and friendly. The decor of the place hasn't changed in years but that's OK; it's part of the history of the place. Prices are a bit on the high side, but worth it.
Concerned about late Sunday reservation re service and kitchen.
Unnecessary concerns...excellence on all fronts. 5th visit over a few years. Wish we lived closer.
Our party of four arrived, for the first time, at the Rams Head Inn to be greeted by an extremely polite valet. Then the hostess was welcoming with a bright smile. Our waitress, Tiffany, did an outstanding job. I explained that we had a show to attend and had only an hour to eat. She did an excellent job of maintaining our schedule. The cocktails were very good, the food was superb and the live Holiday songs were just an extra added touch. Then the manager asked about our stay and invited us back to see all the Christmas decorations, which we will surely do. A five star establishment all the way around. Job well done!!!!
This was our third Thanksgiving at the Rams Head. Previously, it was a solid 4-5 star review. This time, not so good. Our server was pleasant but service was slow even though the dining room was not crowded. My wife's lobster bisque was cool. Her stuffed shrimp were overcooked, dry and tough. They were out of my appetizer first choice. Second choice smoked salmon was fine. Almond beurre blanc snapper tasted like amaretto and cream, overly sweet and too strong. And the snapper was cool. I had told my wife the one thing I wanted was apple pie. Well, apple pie was on the serving tray. The slices were barely an inch wide and the apples were oxidized dark brown. I had pecan pie. Not much better. Very disappointed this year.
Went to Rams head based off their reputation for my fathers birthday and my anniversary. Arrived early on a Friday, went to the bar and told the hostess and she told us she would get us and seat us at 6:15pm and she clearly forgot us. It wasn’t even busy. We didn’t get sat until 6:55pm. Food was good. Service needed to be improved.
OUTSTANDING!!! That covers everything I believe! Service and food were exceptional, will come back for #34 anniversary!!
Nice night out - we enjoyed the evening.
A magical dining experience from start to finish.
For every special occasion we reserve reservations at The Rams Head. We always ask for Eddie as our waiter. The service, food & ambience is cozy, romantic, warm, memorable and always a fantastic experience!
We've been at Ram's Head innumerable times and the last two times it was not as good as previously. Since the table wasn't quite ready, instead of setting the table properly while we waited outside the dining room, the hostess had us sit down and then the table was set for the appropriate number. Even then some plates and silverware were forgotten.
The meat was not tender like it was supposed to be. One person had to send the fish back because it was dry and cold. The second piece was cooked correctly. The appetizers, salads, and desserts were fine.
The setting was very charming. It's an older building dating back to WW2. The lobby, bar and other rooms were very comfortable and cozy. The piano player I believe her name was Diane was very good and Tiffany, the bartender was very personable and made very good cocktails. Unfortunately, we should have stopped there! We were served by Denise who was pleasant enough but seemed frazzled and disoriented to our table. Our party of four sat down at 6:30 and by 8:30 we hadn't been served. It turned out she forgot to fire our food in the kitchen. Another server told us that. The manager came over and he looked like a Deer in the headlights and tried to justify the long delay because of a large party bogging down the kitchen. This was clearly a lie because we were the first table in our room to sit down and before we ever received our food the rest of the tables were served, fed, had dessert and actually paid and left. Our dining experience was bad enough but then to lie to us and insult our intelligence was truly maddening. He made absolutely no attempt to offer or rectify anything. Then Denise also came and used the same excuse. By then we just wanted to eat or leave, so they rushed our food out. The food was okay but I believe it would have been better had the kitchen had the proper amount of time to cook it, which they did not. They weren't that busy but could have used more help but we watched the manager do next to nothing to help his staff. Being a former restaurant owner I can tell you that one of the manager's first jobs is to help when his staff goes under. I will try the Ram's Head again but if the ownership is listening get rid of your dead wood if you want people to continue to return. You have a lot to work with but the setting will never carry the day if your people don't perform. And, fess up when you make a mistake. We all make them but don't insult your customers.
staff was disengaged, service was extremely slow, food was cold and filet was not cooked to my liking.
Very quiet. One dinner very good other dinner just average
We were celebrating an Anniversary and belated Birthday. Staff was so very nice and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting. Meal was delicious. Even had dessert. Would certainly recommend to family and friends.
My boyfriend and I ate dinner here and it was fabulous! The menu had “happy birthday” written on it for my boyfriend birthday and all staff was attentive to it! Cesar salad was perfect and the young man who made it was great, I believe his name was Kevin! He was polite and professional. Our waitress was very friendly, thought I didn’t catch her name. Could not have asked for a better dinner. I believe the wait staff should be recognized for their A+ service! Their was an annoying table nearby who was less than quiet about complaining about literally everything and the waitress was truly doing her best. I work in food and beverage and I know how demanding it can be. But everyone kept a smile on their face and I know it can be difficult. Our food was excellent, everything was served on time. Our drinks were made perfectly. Really don’t have a bad thing to say! 100% worth it. Made my boyfriend birthday excellent, thank you!
We recently discovered the Ram's Head, and have been back several times since. We love the bar area as we feel more at home in a less formal setting. The dining room is also spacious and well-decorated. The service is great, and the food is outstanding, the happy hour prices are good with half price wine and beer specials. The prix-fixe menu is a bargain, and the selections from the menu are varied, so there is something for everyone. I have to emphasize the service, as the staff is outstanding - they are very customer-friendly and make you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. We highly recommend the Ram's Head!
Beautiful venue. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious
Loved the atmosphere and service ! My wife’s birthday could not of picked a better restaurant
We had a lovely time on Saturday night. The service was attentive without being cloying. The food arrived hot. It was beautifully displayed and tasted delicious. There used to be music and dancing but not that was available on Saturday ... maybe because it was a holiday weekend. It is a bit expensive but ... for a special treat ... it's worth it.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious always an enjoyable meal made our 25 anniversary fantastic
Excellent food and selection. Service a teeny bit slow.
A yearly favorite when we are in town. We love the quiet elegance and great food. A wide selection of appetizers and entrees. We'll return!!
Ate here on a Friday night recently while visiting the area for golf. The reviews were terrific so we had high expectations. We were very underwhelmed. First off service was slow and the wait staff didn’t seem very professional. I ordered the duck which the server said was amazing...it was dry and the breast portion was tough and hard to eat, with basically no sauce to help it along. The vegetable it came with was an assortment of carrots green beans broccoli I wrapped in a scallion ribbon, ok to look at but some of it was over cooked and some undercooked, again hard to eat! I don’t know how they got such a high rating. The place may be historic and all and cute, but I found it a bit musty and in need of a revamp! For being so close to Atlantic City and with the number of savvy travelers that come thru I mean What?
Sorry, wouldn’t give it a second chance
The Rams Head Inn is a beautiful country Inn restaurant. Fine dining. Food was very good. The night we were there they seemed to be having some service problems. Our waitress was training new people and it was not their normal excellent service. We still had an enjoyable evening.
Excellent chef, lovely old world dining. Waitress was fairly new and needs more training.
This has become our favorite restaurant. Great food. Wonderful service. Quiet. Fun with friends and family. Romantic if a special occasion. It's a two hour drive for us but my husband never minds because we really enjoy our visit. Always stop there on our way to Atlantic City and always go there for birthdays and anniversaries.
Went hear for our 30th anniversary it was so very special! Caesar salad made at the table and Chateabriand was amazing! Great dining experience!
Another outstanding dinner. Couldn't be happier with food and service.
Celebrating wife’s birthday. First time here in eighteen years. Still a wonderful dining experience. Perfect place to celebrate.
Not the Rams Head ofold. The service was nothing like it used to be, although the server was friendly. But in a high scale establishment do you want “friendly” service. The quality of the food was not up to expectations. The “6 oz. ribeye” was over cooked and was smaller than the 4 oz filet. The soup — cream of asparagus with crab — was fabulous as were the lamb chops. The peach cobbler was substandard and my husband was going to order crime brûlée until the waiter told him it was flambed. Other than that it was okay. I won’t go back for a while again.
Great service and great food. Tried it for an anniversary meal and wasn’t disappointed. Had their fixed lunch menu and found it excellent. Will be going back again.
Excellent service!! Bread is to die for! I miss My Tiramisu for the second time😢 so no dessert for me! Mary was special!
Rams Head Inn is a long time favorite. Only drawback for me is that I only get to that area once a year. If I were a local, I would be there frequently. Great restaurant!
