Ram's Head Inn Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I had a great time. We were sat right away and the dining room possess a quaint ambiance.
The menu selection was diverse. I had a beef wellington which was out of this world and my wife enjoyed the chicken pot pie that was more than enough for two.
Service was outstanding.
it was a wonderful experience we brought our grandchildren for their birthdays, we bring them every year to the Ram's Head we know some day they will appreciate fine dining. great service, wonderful atmosphere, delicious menu, we also enjoyed some of the new items offered for dessert. Thank you Antoinette Priore
With an excellent menu and outstanding food quality, this restaurant should pay more attention to the quality of service. Our waitress seemed like she couldn't care less about us and the room manager did not bother to check on us until we asked for him at the end of the evening. The remainder of the support staff were all attentative, friendly and helpful.
We had an excellent meal at Ram's Head. The atmosphere is elegant but cozy, with fireplaces lit and a piano player in the bar. Wine list was impressive, with some bottles we don't see often. Service was friendly and efficient. There is definitely an older crowd there on a Saturday night, both in the dining room and at the bar. We loved it and look forward to returning soon for the Ceasar salad!
I visited Ram's Head Inn for the first time on a double date with friends. It was very quiet, unusually so according to our servers, so I don't know how noisy it would have been if they had been busy. We had a wonderful evening. Our servers, while quite young, were extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. There was some sort of technical error when our order was entered - it printed to the wrong printer, I think? - and the servers apologized up and down. We were in no hurry and assured them that it was not a problem, but a few minutes later, out came a delicious bowl of clams in a garlicy broth "with the chef's apologies for the delay". I would highly recommend this restaurant, and I will definitely be returning.
As always, a great restaurant. the service in the bar was very slow and I had to ask te bartender if someone would take our drink order. After sitting at a table for 15 minutes. Otherwise the dinning experience is very good and their wine list is excellent. It is a long way for me to travel from Philadelphia but it's worth it.
We have been customers for years and always enjoy eating at Rams Head. This time we requested to eat in the tavern. We enjoyed the piano music, however it was verrrry loud. It would have been much better if the music volume was turned down so we could have a conversation with our friends who were eating with us.
My wife and I have been to The Ram's Head a number of times over the years. For lunch, dinner, and wedding receptions. As a matter of fact we had our daughter's wedding reception there. We had a wonderful time on January 5th. The food was good and the place is just gorgeous. Everything about the restaurant looked absolutely beautiful. Our servers, two young ladies, were knowledgeable, and very attentive to our requests. They did a great job. We spent time in the bar after dinner and John the piano player was extremely warm and entertaining. We are pleased to say that we recommend the reataurant highly.
Overall, a pleasant experience. The food was very good. The one negative point was the very young and inexperienced servers who waited on us. They were pleasant, but ignorant about basic dinner service. We were served soup with a teaspoon and a piece of cheesecake for dessert with a teaspoon. When I asked for a dessert fork, they looked confused and responed that most people do not request salad forks for dessert. After spending $200+ for dinner for two, this was a little disappointing!
We had an early seating,so it wasn't crowded. But we seated in a glass enclosed room, which would have been fine if it were daytime. It was very dark, You could hardly see the menu.
The waitress , Holly was not very attentive. She said there were two others also, Raff and Jordan. Jordan was at the table several times, but Raff we never saw. Some people got sorbet between courses and some didn't. The bar service was very slow. The food was good, but the whole experience wasn't worth $150.
I love the Ram's Head Inn!
As I do not eat much food, I always like to go to the Ram's Head Inn for their Happy Hour. I order a few different things to make up one dinner for me.
Casey, Bartender, is great! She had a smile on her face, welcomed me, was attentive, and very helpful! I could not believe that she had only been bartending for 3 months; she seemed very seasoned.
I will DEFINITELY be back next time I am in the area!
I made the reservation for my wife's birthday and to have a little 'special' time for the two of us. Life has dealt us a few difficult challanges lately and than added superstorm Sandy a nor-easter snow storm.
The experience brighten my wife's face and provided a very special birthday dinner.
All of the food was very good. The waitress was nice but young and inexperienced. Meal felt rushed and in a place that is fine dining I like a little more time. Bus people were not well trained either but overall the food outweighed the other inconsistency.
The decor and all else was very nice. We were pleasantly surprised.
I am sorry to report that our dining experience at the Ram's Head Inn on
Oct 20, 2012 was less than memorable. There was no problem with Open Table
as our table was ready for us when we arrived.
However our dining experience was to say the least mediocre.
The Ram's Head Inn was selected to celebrate our friend's 60th birthday.
She requested the restaurant saying it was her favorite restaurant ,
delicious food, excellent service and perfect ambiance.
Our first disappointment was with the drinks. All four of us ordered a
cocktail the ladies a Cosmopolitan and we husbands ordered one of the
specialty martini drinks. The specialty drinks (pear vodka etc) was
served in a drinking glass, filled with ice and a drinking straw! The
We do not consider ourselves regularsy, but we have dined at the Inn since 1985 and have nerver been disappointed. This is a traditional restaurant with elegant atmosphere and attentative service . If you want a chic atmosphere with fast table turn over, go to AC. The food and service at the Rams Head has always maintained a high standard. While not an economical place to eat, the prices for the quality, atmosphere and service are unrivaled. Expect to pay about $150 when all said and done, including a glass of house wine. A Ceasar Salad for 2, as is the Chateaubriant , are prepared table side. The staff were not veterans, but service was at attentative. This place is a great gem and is sure to be memorable for those who try it.
Visited a year ago, and food was very good. This time, menu has been extended, the 1 lb lobster tail is back, along with beef Wellington, and many other specialties. The tableside Caesar was amazing!!, highly recommend. This year was excellent! Service was attentive, food was hot. Make a point to arrive early and have a drink or two at the bar where piano player Johnny makes it an evening to remember!
