Disappointing. Sat w reservation, but no waiter 10 or more minutes, then drinks took even longer. Very apologetic, but not good. Food was served on cold plate. So food was quick to be cold. Have to maybe try dining room next time.

RAMS HEAD is one of my favorite places

Had the chicken pot pie & it is luscious & quite large for 1 person
Took 1/2 home gave it to a guard in my bldg., said it was the best meal he had in ages!

Dessert vanilla ice cream that was Jack & Jill..a taste from the past.

Place is so cozy w/holiday decorations.... dine @ Ram's Head every Dec.

Outstanding dinner! Probably the best rack of lamb I ever had. Table-side Ceaser salad fantastic. Our first time back in over a decade. Was better than we remembered.
Service also outstanding, and they did not rush us.
Highly recommend.

Love coming here for special occasion dining. It’s very old school food and service but to me that’s a good thing.Always allow extra time for a cocktail at the bar first .Never disappoints.

We were at the Rams Head the night before Thanksgiving, so it wasn't very crowded. We had an excellent meal, with great service, great food and great entertainment (Lounge Singer). This was an historic restaurant with a cozy and antique atmosphere. I would definitely return when in the area. Highly Recommended.

First time here and we'll definitely be back. From the minute you wall in you take a step back in time to when restaurants paid more attention to detail. The bar area was really nice and the drinks were great. The tv in the bar was a bit out of place but I'm sure it's there since people probably complained about not being able to "watch the game" when they should have just enjoyed the atmosphere and the company they were with. The food was pretty good as well, not exactly on point with how nice the atmosphere/vibe was...The crab brulee appetizer was great but a little cold at the bottom, the stuffed shrimp dinner was pretty good, a touch fishier than we expected, and the veal/crab meat over risotto was a touch fishy also and very salty...and I love savory. That being said it was still good enough that we want to try other entrees. The service was great and very friendly and attentive. Overall we had a very nice night and will definitely be back.

Hadn’t dined at Ram’s Head in some time. The food was quite tasty and well presented. The service, when compared to previous experiences, was best summed up as sophomoric. The servers were polite but new little of the menu items preparation, how to serve each item or what utensils to serve it with and didn’t admit it. At a nearby table another diner saw it right away and asked if they had the 2017 vintage of Boone’s Farms. The server said she would have to check. Lastly, much of the serviceware was well past it’s prime. Sorry to see this landmark in such a poor state. Hoping for better times.

I had such high hopes for a spectacular anniversary dinner. The service was good but the food was so basic. Nothing to rave about. Filet and lobster tail were tasteless, veggies were boring. And then a 25 minute wait to get dessert that was terrible. Pumpkin cheesecake was so dry, I couldn’t eat it. No aperitif was offered. We should’ve known when we entered the restaurant on a Saturday night and it was practically empty. So sad. It’s a beautiful restaurant, I think they just need a new menu, chef, or something.

Inexperienced server; veal with crab was salty and not piccata at all and way off base from what it was supposed to be; onion soup lousy, rack of lamb flat with little taste; coffee warm not hot; dessert with a candle was a nice touch for our 50th anniversary.

We used to visit Ram's Head as a family when I was younger, and we decided to go back for old time's sake. It was a good as we had remembered. Everything from soup to dessert was delicious, and the service was attentive and helpful. The only disappointment was that the ambiance was not as refined as we had remembered. People were dressed very casually despite the business casual attire noted on the website and the atmosphere was staid. The restaurant was completely empty when we left at 10pm.

We have been to Ram's Head Inn before and liked it very much. However, this time it was very disappointing. We both ordered Beef Wellington and a nice Napa Cabernet, only to be told that the chef couldn't prepare my beef medium rare, said our server. When the wine Steward came around, he said he could get the chef to prepare the beef medium rare. The meal was fair, at best with the meat less than tender. That server, the gentleman, did try to help and we appreciated it, but the young woman server who took our order was inadequate and needed professional training. On the other hand, the woman playing the piano and singing in the tavern was terrific. Expectations at Ram's Head need to be raised in terms of food preparation and service. It was disappointing.

This was our first time and Ram's Head and the restaurant truly lived up to the reviews we've seen online. Our drinks, main courses (salmon and cornish hen) and desserts (peach cobbler and Key Lime Pie) were all superb. Service was truly exceptional, and ambience truly first class. We will be back next time we're in Absecon area.

We hadn't been to this place in several years and decided to go there since we were going to be in the area. We were not disappointed. Everything we remembered about the place was excellent. They actually have Beef Wellington on the everyday menu. Two in our party ordered it and both said it was excellent.
Great place for a special evening.

We have a wonderful lunch/dinner. Perfect for what we wanted. Chef thought he would give me something extra in he form of mushrooms on my filet mignonette. Unfortunately I am allergic to them. When I did get the filet (w/out mushrooms) the filet was outstanding. I could almost cut it with a fork.
It's been years since I have been there but I will definitely be back much more frequently.

Ram's Head used to be a high quality, consistently good restaurant where you could have a quiet dinner with excellent service. Our dinner on Saturday night was the complete opposite. The food was good - but it arrived 90 minutes after we sat down and the waitress' repeated explanation that "you didn't order appetizers, just the main course which is why it took so long" was ridiculous. The manager was running from table to table offering free drinks to assuage angry diners. Nobody refilled water glasses; in fact, there were very few wait staff in sight. We ordered dessert - which never arrived. All in all, a 3 hour dinner disaster. I noticed that the valet parking service is no longer being offered. Perhaps this should have been a tip off. Spend your money elsewhere!

We have been dining at the Ram's Head Inn for over twenty years and the food was as fantastic as ever. We enjoyed the baked oyster escargot, crab cake, and grilled peach with Brie for appetizers, the rib eye steak and chateaubriand for the entree, and the chocolate cake and cheese cake for dessert.
The service was good , but not up to the standard that is expected from this restaurant. Let's start with the drink order. My husband requested lemon peel with his drink, but it arrived without any garnish. We ordered a bottle of wine, but had to remind the waiter to bring it with the entree. He had difficulty with the cork, and I found half of it on the floor. We ordered a side of risotto with dinner, but received two because we were never told that it accompanied one of the entrees. We ordered two double espresso and two Sambuca, but received only one of the cordials. You might think this nitpicking, but we have high expectations when we dine at such an elegant establishment.
Hopefully, the service will improve when we return.

The Ram's Head Inn is an old favorite of ours. We were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch; what a great decision! They have a pre-fixe menu for lunch at $25 that included 3 courses. Best we could tell, they selected a few items from their regular dinner menu and offered them up for lunch. A really exceptional value! Needless tosay, the food here is excellent.
