This place was outstanding the food was unbelievable service was great outstanding we will go back
Great food and atmosphere!
This spot is always on my list of favorite ramen places. Cool ambience and wonderful, informative service, it's great for ramen lovers and great for first-timers. Even the cocktails are wonderful. I always recommend this place!
A friend moved away and came back to Chicago for a visit. He was one of the first customers when the place opened years ago and he was so excited to grab a bowl of Tonkotsu for his first meal in Chicago. Ramen-San was amazing and everything he had hoped the place would continue to be. Thanks for a lovely time!
My go to for ramen in Chicago. LOVE their choice in hip-hop.
It's one of my favorite spots to grab a bite when I'm in Chicago for work. I've taken customers as well as family here and it's always a huge hit. Ramen-San Rocks!!!
Food was super tasty, beer was cold and plentiful, service was quick, music was fun. Noisy ambiance but didn't think it was supposed to be an intimate date place. Only detractor-there was a very long wait for our ramen because of mobile/Grubhub orders, which also made it awkward because there was a huge line of people around our table.
Their Tonkatsu Ramen is the best I've had in the city - and I used to live in Chinatown.
Tasty! Definitely recommend the kimchi and fried chicken, it's got a great level of heat.
The food was great and the music was on point ! The choices was good and even had the description on the back of the menu!
Great, fun restaurant for the whole family. Very authentic and food was incredibly fresh.
Love the food
I am big on ramen and picky about where I go, and this place did not disappoint. The appetizers were all delicious. We tried the raw tuna and wings. As for the ramen, I got the spicy miso. It definitely was very spicy with a great broth. The noodles were well done as well. I will come back again!
Best Ramen in Chicago
Very good food and experience. Will definitely go again!
Amazing dinner. Amazing atmosphere. Great all around!
This place is awesome. I have a shellfish allergy, but the kitchen substituted some meat (I think it was pork) in a ramen dish due to the marinade for chicken, and my dish turned out really delicious.
It's definitely a more casual jeans and sweater kind of place, with shared seating. We ended up making friends with the people next to us (who randomly also happened to be lawyers) - it's the type of place where I think you're meant to talk to the people sitting next to you, which is kind of cool.
If you're looking for a dressy, swanky, romantic river north date night, this may not be the place (it's pretty casual, and you'll leave in a food coma) , but the ramen is damn good.
The service and food is always great here! Love the music too.
First time there, really liked it!
Wish this were closer to home! We loved the choices and drinks. We would eat here weekly if we could. The ramen was perfect texture. The specials and combinations are perfect for both vegetarians and carnivores. The broth was unforgettable. I had a lobster special that had a kick to it; I think about it often.
lovely weather to sit outdoors & enjoy our ramen bowls and appetizers. Food was very good
Such an amazing restaurant we have always had amazing meals here! We always take people visiting from out of town!
My husband and I live in the neighborhood and have tried many Ramen type restaurants in the city. Neither of us were impressed with our meal. We both ordered the brisket special that was recommended by our waitstaff. The broth flavor was overpowering and the two pieces of brisket seemed more like thinly sliced roast beef from the corner deli. The dining room was very warm making it uncomfortable to eat hot soup.It was a 90 degree day and they had the door propped open. We could not wait to run outside when we finished. I normally find Lettuce Entertain You restaurants to be superior when it comes to details....but not this time.
Could not get in on a Saturday night...wait was about an hour, but Sunday...no wait at all. Service was attentive and the food-- I had fried chicken ramen-- excellent.
I will return!
We celebrated our children's birthdays and eberything was phenomenal.
Really fun dinner spot. Good music, good food & good sake.
Very good ramen!
All our food was great- smoked salmon nigiri, pork bun, smoked pork ramen and fried chicken&kimchi ramen.
Always enjoy food, nice ambiance and great service for reasonable price
The atmosphere was upbeat and modern, and the food was legit. Service from the waitstaff was attentive and easy. Overall a fun experience.
We had the tuna appetizer - yummy. Split a bowl of tonkatsu ramen and ordered some extra broth ($2). The waiter forgot about the wine order and we had to remind him, and then we had to ask again about the broth. He redeemed himself with a free order of donuts for my birthday and they were the BEST thing we ate - amazing with a miso vanilla glaze. My sister Loved the entire meal
Outstanding food quality on every dish asked for fair price. Service is very good too. Cushion on the chairs would be my only recommendation for improvement.
Food comes out slowly, but it is delicious. I can't believe they don't pass out bibs to keep the slurping dribbles off clothing.
Excellent fatty ramen and hot wings. Pretty loud night club upstairs
Took my wife and toddler here. This place is not kid friendly unless you get a low table or booth along the walls. Kimchi ramen and salt and pepper chix are infants were great accompanied by a tall asahi beer.
Loved this place so much that this trip it was a must return after seeing Hamilton.
Incredible experience, highly recommend. Wanted to try everything on the menu.
Place is vibrant with a younger crowd. Quite loud. Food is very good. Would still prefer Misoya Ramen on E Ohio St for more authentic Japanese taste.
We love ramen San but went on a Saturday and it was very busy. We must have waited 30 min and the ramen cane out before the apps, and both were served like warm. Usually we have a great experience but unfortunately it was lacking on a weekend night.
